I spent 2 months at Fairlawn and as much as Im so happy with the staff, who are very friendly, there are some things that needs to be changed. It does have its pros and cons: Pros: Nursing staff and RNTs are so very friendly and caring. Physical Therapy had me walking and very encouraging. Speech Pathology helped my brain reconnect to words, wonderful therapist. The floors doctor an NP were very encouraging and helpful. Occupational Therapist taught me how to dress and shower again with a flaccid left side. Very friendly and great sense of humor. There is free wifi They helped apply for SSI Cons: Rooms are very small so if you have a roommate, bring earbuds so you can sleep. (I went through several before a walking group member joined me.) Although they got me walking, my arm was BARELY never had therapy on it and I still cant move it. The TVs are older than dinosaurs. The PT gym on the 2nd floor needs more equipment like the 3rd floor does. There is a patient snack bar, but no vending machine like the other floors. In the end, its a good acute rehab, but be your own strong advocate or make sure someone will for you.

I had called my mother from Washington state on two occasions and experienced some of the worst customer service I have experienced. The employee on the other end of the phone begrudgingly transferred me to her room. Our family was also not invited to participate in a conference call to discuss my motherss long term care plan, after we asked to be included. These folks are some of the least helpful nursing staff members I have encountered. Please do your family a favor and check into the quality of these facilities. They are not all equal. One star is too much for this place. When my mom was placed there following her stroke with bleeding on the brain 12 years ago, I will NEVER FORGET JODI... While doing therapy with my mother, my nephew and I were speechless when she allowed mom to deliberately fall backwards onto the blue mat. This is something I will NEVER,EVER FORGET JODI.Rest peacefully mom, no more abuse from these places. I would however Love to have a cup of coffee with JODI........

I should not have to be placing multiple calls to get a yes or no response on my PA referral.
