I just had to update my old review on this sad day. I could only give 5 stars, but if I could give 10 stars I would. This veterinarian, Dr. Carlos, is as kind and compassionate as can be. I brought my dear golden retriever to this clinic from age 6 to age 13 and he always received good care. Years ago, Dr. Carlos found a splenic tumor on a routine annual exam because he took that extra time to carefully feel his abdomen, he followed up shortly after with a (free) check-up visit to see if it was just a passing blockage (it wasnt), and I was able to operate in time at an animal hospital. My dog lived for another 5 years after the surgery, thanks to this office finding it, and providing me excellent advice. (For example, they didnt want to do an asprit biopsy because the vet said if the tumor was encapsulated it could burst and harm the dog so we were referred to an animal hospital with capability of doing blood transfusions for that). Anyway, I had to update my review because we had to put my sweet 13 year old dog down today, as he was suffering a neurological condition and finally lost the battle. My husband and I were pretty broken up about it, but Dr. Carlos made a heartbreaking situation so much more bearable, comforting, and tolerable. I will always be thankful to this vet and this clinic - he is so compassionate and humane - all vets should be like that. PS - over the years, when I had questions or concerns they would even take the time to discuss over the phone and advise me, they did not always just tell me to come in or charge for a visit when not necessary. One time I emailed a question and Dr. Carlos called me to discuss. I was driving with speakerphone on and dropped his call twice. He called me back BOTH times to finish the conversation and provide me advice. Who does that? Not most doctors! This clinic is ethical, a family-run practice (husband & wife veterinarians). We had moved to Pennsylvania, but still drove into Byram NJ to see this vet, we didnt switch to a PA vet because this office was always excellent.

Im not sure what vet those whom rated this place went to but it couldnt be the same one I visited yesterday. My miniature doxen was acting very strangely and was very fatigued, I called them and they said to bring her right in. The ran a full line of blood tests and it came back that she had lyme. They did some more intensive bloodwork and found she may also have underlying Kidney and Liver problems. Their attention to detail and to my dog was second to none. They put her on antibiotics, gave me the contact information of a nearby 24 hour animal hospital in case she got worse during the night and the doctor also called us at home that night from his house to follow up on her. I cant thank the Dr. and his staff enough.

Stellar! My cat was very sick. I went to Newton AH first, was unhappy with them, so went to Byram the very next day. Everyone is so professional and caring, from front desk to vet tech to Doctor. They were very thorough, explained everything in detail and their prices were standard, if not better. You can guarantee I have found a new doctor for my babies.

We moved to the West Coast and have been to a handful of new vets, trying to the find the one and all I can say is how much we miss Dr. Carlos and his staff!!! They are absolutely the best!

We have been taking our cats to Dr. Cruz and Dr. Carlos for many years and we have always found them to be very nice, attentive and knowledgeable. The other staff are great as well.

Wouldnt bring my dog anywhere else (and Ive had to over the years when weve relocated.) They really are better than anyone else weve been to and really care about our pet.
