In short: Dr. Blake is hands down worth the drive every single time. Never trust a commercial animal "Hospital" to do right by your pet/fuzzy family member. In Long: A few months back I took my 2 year old feline child Elly to a PetSmart / Banefield for a urinary problem. An insurance service I pay (used to) monthly for. Instead of solving the problem and getting her relief, they insisted on waiting an entire day (read 24 hours) of her not urinating and yelling in pain to finally drain her bladder via a needle and giving her some medicine to resolve the problem. Against my better judgement, I took her back to PetSmart / Banefield for a routine teeth cleaning that involves blood work and anesthesia. I pick up my cat and the veins in both of her poor little front arms were ruptured. They blamed it on a nurse in training and said the cat had been marked as violent. My cat is the extremely docile, patient and has never even swatted at a fly. I took my friends advice again and sought help from Dr. Blake again. I went straight to see him and he prescribed a mild pain reliever gave very thorough and detailed instructions on daily car for blown out veins as well as educated me on the signs to look for that could signal a worsening problem or clots. Twice has Dr. Blake saved my precious Elly. Dr. Blake and his crew will have my business, respect and eternal gratitude from here on out. P.S. Elly loves coming to see Dr. Blake and has a completely different demeanor when she hears the word "Vet" now :)

Where do I begin? When we first moved back to Florida, Dr. Blake was recommended by a neighbor. For the past 15 years he has been our Vet. This is something I dont take lightly. I first entrusted my precious little Westie into his care and never regretted that decision. He was there with me when I had to make the extremely heart wrenching decision to let her go. When we added our cattle dog- a pitiful pup who showed up after a major storm, Dr. Blake treated him for heart worms (so dangerous - I would not have allowed anyone else) and continued to care for him until his passing at the age of "at least" 15 years old. Our current pup is still under the care of Dr. Blake and his Staff. I was recently in his office for my pups annual check up. We also discussed arthritis (pain) treatment options. He listened to me as I shared my concerns. As is typical, he was NOT dismissive. I have to say that Dr. Blake ALWAYS treats me and my pups with the utmost respect and dignity. He "gets it" that they are like family members. I believe our joint goal is that they live quality lives -- as happy and as healthy as possible and within reason. I would NEVER want them to suffer through life. Dr. Blake knows this. Many times I have asked Dr. Blake some really difficult questions like -- "What would you do?" He has NEVER been anything but kind and sincere in his answers. Dr. Blake and his Staff are some of the most caring people I have ever met. Without exception.

I would like to officially apologize for the reviews I posted previously. I was unfortunately misinformed to the aforementioned statements by the stepdaughter of the business patron. I assumed that it was true since I felt she had no reason to lie to me. Unfortunately, this was not the case as he has made it known that he was extremely humiliated by such false statements. I would like the public to know that said statements were misconstrued as the truth, when they were only the fabrications of an adolescent. I thought that this censorship was unjust initially because the proprietor did not like the truth coming to light, however, from the looks of the lawsuit he has attacked me with, it goes to show that I was ineed dupped by his adolescent stepdaughter. She had clear malicious motivation when conveying her story in the most genuine of manners to me. I only hope the veterinarian will forigve me and know I had no malicious intent and only thought I was informing the public of the truth. However, I was just ignorant of the truth.

Blake Veternarian staff is very caring and sweet. I highly recommend going here, the prices are reasonable and they dont ask for an exam like most vets do ( which is a ripoff ). I took my german shepard/husky mix in yesterday to get his rabies and i was worried about bringing him inside because he does not get along well with other animals and will growl at anybody he does not know. Dr. Blake and his staff offered to come outside and do it. Ive never see a vet so kind and caring thay would actually come outside to give a vaccination. Same goes with my Lab/Golden mix, i took her in today and she was too frightened to head to the back once again Dr. Blake and his staff offered to go ahead and give the vaccination in the waiting area. Very sweet and kind!!. I highly recommend this place. Will be going back here very shortly!.

Dr. Blake has been our veterinarian for a few years now. We recently lost our 13-year-old Maltese to CHF. Dr. Blake and his entire staff are the most caring, compassionate and competent veterinary hospital staff we have ever dealt with. They made a great loss much easier to bear just by being there for us. We now have a new puppy, and know that she will have the best possible veterinary care throughout her life as we have no intention of ever changing from Blake veterinary hospital. Thank you so much for all you do and for all you have done for us in the past. We will be forever grateful.

I have been going to Dr Blake for over ten years now and he has provided consistent, prudent, and quality veterinary services. Having owned a pet sitting business and animal rescue, we used Dr Blake often and not only does he truly love animals, his expertise has saved us time and money. Although I moved away from dade city 7 years ago, I will keep driving back up to see Dr Blake and his staff. I have used several vets over the years in the Tampabay area and I can say without hesitation that Dr Blake is by far the best.

I have always been a great fan of Dr. Blake and I cannot tell anyone enough how much our family is indebted to Dr. Blake and his wonderful staff for saving the life of our Lucy and caring for her pups also. The compassion knows no bounds and we will always trust our babies to him. . Thanks hardly expresses how we feel about the special people at Blake Veterinary Hospital. The staff is extremely friendly, its obvious they truly care about animals. The office was clean. Today was our first visit and I was very impressed. A major challenge of relocating is finding good providers. My Boston Terrier was born with several health issues so a good veterinarian is important. Dr. Blake was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. It was apparent his concern is for the well being of my dog and not making money for unnecessary procedures. I highly recommend this office.
