Undesirable and Expensive. Ive had two brief experiences at Quail Hallow and think their actual work with dogs was great, but their rules and attempts to add charges make them both undesirable and expensive! 1st) I used a Groupon for dog grooming, and they did a great job! The only caveot was the staffs attempts (IMO) to charge more. They asked and recommended an exam, shots, and Trifexis pills, and they said if Id ever had my dog seen there before, the Groupon price paid for dog grooming would no not be honored, because they claimed it was for new customers and only one per household, meaning I couldnt do it for my other dog. 2nd) Boarding: I called around for boarding quotes and found them to be EXTREMELY Expensive compared to others. Below is what they have on their website, but I will add the costs of what I was told. Bottom line: This place is expensive ($88 to $108 PER DOG for ONE NIGHT). "All boarders need to be up to date on rabies, DHPP, canine influenza, bordatella, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and a current intestinal parasite screening. We offer 3 packages: Platinum – 3 walks, 4 playtimes Gold – 3 walks, 2 playtimes Silver package – 3 walks **All packages include bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning before the patient goes home." My notes from speaking with their staff on the phone: Silver (cheapest package) is either $21 or $22 per dog per night. I think that the $1 difference was about having been seen at their place before. Pet Exam is required and cost $46 per dog. All places, like this one, want up to date shots, but here they want Canine Influenza Vaccine at $21 and either Trifexis or Centinal costing about $20 per dog. So... a one day boarding for one dog will cost an incredible $108 ($21 boarding + $46 exam + $21 Flu Vac + $20 Trifexis) if no other immunization shots are needed. To be fair, lets say you already have your dog immunized and on Trifexis. The price would still be $88 PER DOG for ONE NIGHT. THAT IS SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER PLACES, because at least some others dont require an exam, flu vaccine, and Trifexis. Almost everyplace requires immunizations, so I didnt include that into this cost shown.

Ive been using Quail Hollow Animal Hospital since 2003. Over the years, there have been some changes but for the most part, the changes have been positive. I typically have my dog seen by Dr. Goss. Dr. Goss is wonderful and has a perfect demeanor with the pets as well as with the humans. Not all vets have decent "bed side manner" with both humans and animals. She is matter-of-fact, educated, willing to discuss options and most of all, compassionate. I also will schedule with Dr. Tanner. Hes also wonderful, has great skills and demeanor and is also willing to listen as well as advise. Because my family fosters dogs and has done hospice foster many times, weve had our share of appointments to euthanize dogs. Both Dr. Goss and Dr. Tanner have done this for us and every time, theyre very caring, compassionate, gentle and loving...both to the dog and to our family. Most of the changes over the years have been expansion and updating technology. They went from a very small office in a strip type shopping area to a stand alone facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Many procedures and tests can be done on-site. This is a good thing as in some cases, time is of the essence. This does, of course, affect their expenses and that does affect their rates, but to our family, its worth it. The office staff is, for the most part, very good. There is some turnover, as with any type of business but they also have long-term employees. Shannon, one of the techs, is amazing. Shes so good with the pets and great with the people. She can explain things and is always willing to listen to clients with openness. Sheree, who works at the front desk, is always smiling and happy. Shes knowledgeable and has no problem going over a bill, scheduling and sharing her experience. Were always happy when we happen to have an appointment when theyre working. The only time Ive used a different vet was when a foster dog needed specialty care that QHAH didnt offer. Otherwise, this is the clinic for my pets.

After relocating here from Long Island, we heard a lot of great things about this vet. It was an easy decision for me to schedule a surgery for my doberman puppy to get neutered due to all the positive feedback. We brought him in the week prior to his surgery for his pre-surgical exam, and all was good. Come the day of the surgery, with the catheter already in place and my puppy half way towards dreamland, I get a call from the vet explaining to me that they never did a Von Willebrand test (particularly because dobermans are prone to this blood clotting disease) and that they wanted me to give them the okay to go ahead with the surgery. Without having conducted the test, there was no way of telling if my dog would clot properly, yet they were willing to take the risk and go ahead with my consent. They also told me that they were missing a particular instrument necessary for the surgery, and that they were trying to locate one elsewhere. Keep in mind, my puppy was on deck for his neutering and already had the catheter pumping in to his limb. Due to the lack of conducting the VW test, the willingness to go ahead and do the surgery with my consent (Im not an expert) without having a guarantee that he would clot properly, and then the absence of the necessary instrument to conduct the surgery was enough for me to decide to halt the process. This team clearly wasnt prepared to soundly conduct the surgery on my loved one. I picked him up and will find another vet. I was very disappointed because it was a very nice establishment and has a ton of positive reviews. Perhaps my experience is an isolated incident, but an everlasting one at that.

I have a pet ball python, that Ive had from hatchling to now five years, and she recently became sick with an URI. These infections are extremely serious and can be quite fatal. While most of my friends and family say, just let the snake die.. (not many people are fond of snakes), I refuse to just give up on her. I look at my snake just as I would my pet cat; I love her and she is a family member. So, when I noticed her becoming ill I took her to the vet right away. I took her to Quail Hollow Animal Hospital and the veterinarians and Dr. Goss took extreme care of my snake. They actually seemed quite interested. I guess they dont get snakes that often!! Dr. Goss was able to diagnose my snake and we put her on an aggressive antibiotic treatment! She has already had two shots and is already starting to look better and she has another three shots to come this week. I have no doubts that my snake wont recover, shes so strong! Lets talk about prices.... definitely affordable! Dr. Goss even told me the prices of everything before she did them, (examination, shots, etc.). I paid way less than I was expecting. This animal hospital is very welcoming and they definitely have their clients and patients best interests in mind. I most certainly will use Quail Hollow Animal Hospital for all my animals future needs. Possibly grooming as well! You should always treat your animals with the best care, you cant put a price on the well being of your loved ones!!
