I have been a life long patient at Bull Run Family Practice. Since childhood, I always have seen Dr. Patel, who is now in South Riding. I love her and the doctors I see when she is not in. My ENTIRE family comes to this practice (except for my husband). On a few occasions now I have been put directly into voicemail by whoever answers the phone (Leeann I MISS YOU - YOU ARE AMAZING) and I have not been called back in the same day, even though I was given the expectation. Most recently, I called the Manassas office because I knew the South Riding office was closed, to ask if I should take my son to the ER, or wait until the morning to bring him in. After explaining this to the girl on the phone, she transferred me directly to the nurse voicemail in South Riding (they were closed and I was asking for advice). I ended up taking him to the ER - I couldnt wait another 20 minutes on hold and get transferred to voicemail again. This morning, I called to schedule an appointment for my husband at the Manassas office with a male doctor. He was the only one of us who hadnt gone here before. After I explained that, I was asked for my insurance. I told her what it was and her reply (not pleasant) was, "I dont know what that is." What am I supposed to say to that? She didnt ask me any follow up question...after a few awkward moments, I said, "Thats what it is, my entire family goes there and it works fine." She said, I dont doubt that, I need to know who its under. At that point I was already over it. This is the third or fourth time I have had a terrible experience on the phone - not the first. It is such a huge decision to leave a practice I have seen my whole life and who my children have seen since they were born. I am almost at that point. I understand growth. However this is a prime example of the benefits you lose when you grow. Nobody knows who I am anymore, I feel like a number, not a person - unless I see my doctor or one of the staff who has been there since the beginning. There are a few great people here who really care, and a lot of people who are just giving patients a number. And if you are new or learning, ask a question - say you dont understand - dont reply with a retort that comes out argumentative or with frustration. I am just so dissatisfied with the attitude and wait on the phones, the wait in the office (at Manassas) and lack of caring. The only reason I havent changed providers sooner is because I dont know where to go and I am nervous about leaving the people I have trusted to care for me and my entire family! (The doctors are just as great as they always were.) Your customer service is losing money for your business...

Not a bad place, I liked the staff that I interacted with, they seemed kind and intelligent. The people at the front desk were great, and so was the nurse. However, Dr Winslow was pretty rushed in her examination. she was in the room a bit less than 5 minutes, though i see on my receipt I was billed for 15 minutes at 140$. (I include this info because they couldnt give me any idea of a price quote over the phone, all they could tell me then was that there is a 40% cash discount if you pay right away. that kind of made it seem like they would be a reasonable price, but it actually was pretty expensive for not much of a visit, my last dr was only 100$, and he had a special 50$ rate for the uninsured. I miss him.) Perhaps I wouldnt have noticed or minded the rush, but during the 40 min I waited in the examination room I heard a staff member lamenting the need to stay late and the doctors reply, indicating she could see everybody and still go home on time, she just needed to go through them really fast, which was "no problem". That didnt inspire confidence, and Ill be looking for a different PCP.

Since Novant has taken over Bull Run Family Practice the Services has gone to Hell in a hand Basket. I called today about Lab work and I gave her Cindy) all the information and she said their was a 10 AM Open, I ask when was a appointment required for blood work at the lab and she said wait a minute and when she got back on the phone and said come in anytime for blood work. Before Novant took over the waiting time was no more than 5 minutes and now at the last visit it was over a hour of waiting and now when I see the best doctor in the world (Dr. Frederick Parker III) I get a different nurse every time and when you check out you do not get a full report of your visit. It is a shame how Novant is taking over everything and changing services from excellent 5 star to Unacceptable 1 star.

The receptionists are never very helpful. Everytime I call to make an appointment Im on hold for at least 20 minutes before I am even patched through to someone at the front and they always sound like they hate their job. After telling her that I needed an appointment this week, one receptionist asked me "well what do you want me to do about it?" UHM I want you to book me an appointment! Thats how you train your staff to speak to patients? I love my doctor, Susan Campbell, shes wonderful but the front desk receptionists should definitely improve. ALMOST EVERY review talks about how horrible your phone service is, your receptionists idea of good customer service is losing you business.

Called my regular location and got transferred to the Manassas office because the nurse I was talking with was in this office for the day. After sitting on hold with the receptionist for 20 minutes she finally got back on the phone to tell me she doesnt know who Rebecca is. I asked to be transferred back to the south riding location and she asked if I could hang up and call them be cause she doesnt know how to transfer. Im glad I dont go to this office because the service I received on the phone alone was horrible.

The service with the ER staff wasnt bad, actually they was very kind and professional. However, after I was seen by the doctor I finally received my discharged paper it was time for me to get dress. Well, in that process one of the MALE staff walked in the room while I was getting dress! I asked him excuse me why are you walking in this room while Im getting dress? He repeilied, no big deal I seen it all. I felt my privacy as a patient was violated !

Amazing staff, Dr Parker is the best doctor Ive ever had! He takes care of my husband, both mother in law and father in law, my two sons and myself! Whenever I cant book with him because hes in such demand, Ive never had a problem with the other doctors. Theyve always gone the extra mile with me whenever I needed a specialist for my sons even called them. His nurse Michelle even fought Medicaid for approval of medicine! Worth any wait time!
