Ive been seeing healthcare providers at DCBHS for several months now, and can say that I am generally pleased with their professionalism and the services that they provide me. The only downfalls of this practice are appointment availability, the lack of professionalism that their front desk staff possesses, and their late/cancellation fee system. There have been times that Ive had to wait several weeks in between appointments to speak with my therapist or receive feedback from a screening. Luckily, the mental heath conditions that I am being seen for are mild in severity. However, I can imagine how going weeks at a time between sessions could be a serious problem for others. Secondly, the front desk staff seriously lack professionalism. Many of them appear to be particularly inexperienced which is at times very frustrating. Lastly, the fee schedule for late appointment arrivals and late cancellations is outrageous. Ive had to cancel an appointment because I was sick with a fever, however was not able to do so within their 24 hour notice policy bc I was still at work while I had become ill. Therefore, I had to cancel my appointment with just 20 hour notice. The office billed me $100 for this, and I am currently in the process of begging them to waive the fee. Its been over a week and I still have not received a response, despite having just visited the office for another appointment and addressing the issue once again.

I love my practitioner there and that is why I have been trying to put up with the office staffs nonsense. The other reviewers who say the office employees never answer the phone are right. One just transferred me to a voicemail box that was full. They have no online scheduling, payment or other convenience options, but they dont answer the phones to make up for that, either. Its really hard to schedule an appointment, even. The front office staff really, really dont give a hoot. Running out of your medication on a Friday afternoon because they forgot to call it in? They will dodge your calls and do everything they can to avoid getting up and speaking to a co-worker for a couple minutes to get the situation resolved. Not to be unreasonable or anything, but seriously...it takes less than 5 minutes to solve a problem like that. How lazy can one be? My practitioner is amazing, but the office staff and refill departments work habits are really making me think its time to find a different doctor.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I read the google reviews before and decided to give it a chance. BAD CHOICE. While they may accept many insurance plans, they genuinely do not care about you as a person at all. Their missed appointment fee is abhorrent; I had always scheduled my appointments for 4PM, but apparently the front desk lady decided to schedule me for 3PM. I came in at 4PM like usual, only to be told my appointment was at 3, late fee will be charged now, and I can submit something to see if I can get a waiver. Waiver was not approved and that bill in the mail arrived faster than anything Ive ever seen. All they care about is money. I really needed that appointment too, as I was already struggling that day, and ended up having to call a crisis hotline for help instead. They dont care. Dont waste your money on a company that only cares about misleading you to bank off of their ridiculous missed appointment fee. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

When we initially contacted DCBHS, the intake coordinator told us that she would check with our insurance as to whether we would need a referral for services. Upon arriving for our first appointment we were told that everything was set, and that we could see the provider. We had three sessions total, which were mostly a waste of time. No one ever told us that a referral was indeed needed for our insurance (which covers mental health visits). A few weeks after our last session we received a bill for services which was close to $700. When I called to ask why the insurance didnt cover the services, the person in the billing department simply said that we should get a backdated referral! Last time I checked backdating official paperwork can be considered illegal AND insurance fraud! Definitely not recommending DCBHS. Very disappointed with the way everything was handled and wish we would have taken our money elsewhere.

My appointment was at 9am and my "therapist" didnt show until 930am. Needless to say, I was sure to snap a pic of the clock inside the office to prepare myself for any bullsh*t "no show" fee. Once I finally got in, I was looking for ACTUAL help. Not yoga. Not breathing exercises. And not taking moments out of my day to stare at a flower. This is $150 advice I was given. Never in my life have I wasted my breath on the biggest joke of South Riding. They fit right in with the rest of Virginia. Im not from Virginia, thankfully. Otherwise, I wouldve been sucked into the brainwashing sessions that quickly drain my bank account. Do not go here. Do not waste your time with amateurs. Find an actual professional. Not someone that cant even hold an appointment time. Absolutely pathetic!!!!

will not answer the phone even if their life depends on it. try to charge you for missed appointments but wont even provide the opportunity to cancel ahead of time because they wont respond to anything. seems like they care more about getting paid to write prescriptions than actually helping their patients. their office hours arent accurate as some doctors wont take clients before or after a certain time, and appointments are completely inaccessible to anyone who works a regular 9-5.

These people that are so called proffessionals are terrible. I am one who struggles with anxiety and all these people care about is money. They do not work as a team with counselors or primary physicians all they do is see you for thirty minutes or so and tell you your on all the wrong meds and give you others meds that they get paid to prescribe. Just a terrible experience please do not send yourself or your children here it is a money hungry practice that goes on at dominion

Ive called atleast 15 times within the past 4 hours in attempt to get my medication and i was ignored. this place was required to send an approval to my pharmacy. They just decided to ignore me and transfer me to useless employees who did not help or even answer my call. They only care about making money off you, your mental health comes in 2nd. Awful place do not spend your hard earned money here. Lazy employees as far as receptionists and doctors assistants go.

Most horrible service Dr penny never calls her patients back . She weaning me off a medication left me halfway and didnt tell me what to do next and I was so miserable, and still never called me back. I please save yourself NEVER go here unless you wanna end up being in a mental hospital.

Im surprised at the negative reviews. Ive always found the staff helpful. Ive seen 2 MDs there (one left the practice) and Ive liked them both. Yes, sometimes you have to wait and they see you late - but then when Im with the MD I never feel rushed and I feel like they listen to me.

These people are very careless, the front office desk laughed at me on the phone, they never helped me, took 5 weeks to schedule an appointment and it was the wrong one, nobody answers the phone calls, if youre mentally ill and need help, they will leave you insane
