I dropped my dog Babii off at Planned Pethood on Friday November 13, 2015 to have surgery to drain a hematoma on her ear. I returned to pick her up at 3:30. I paid the lady at the counter and she said they would be out with her shortly. One of the techs brought her out and gave me discharge instructions for a dog that got spayed. Nothing in the paper work gave me instructions on how to care for my dogs ear. She said it is the same just keep the cone on her head and come back in a week. She walked her to my car and I left. As I was driving home I called the office and asked if and when should I take the bandage off her ear. The lady whos name I believe to be Jessica put me on hold so she could find out. When she came back to the phone she said "you can take it off tomorrow". Never once did anyone tell me to make sure I take the bandage off tomorrow and that the ear will be bleeding that bad. Well tomorrow came and by the afternoon her ear was still bleeding quite a bit so I didnt think it would be wise to unwrap it. Planned Pethood was closed on Sunday so I called them first thing Monday November 16, 2015 and they told me to bring her in so they can look at her ear. My boyfriend took her, they unwrapped and looked at it, gave her an injection for inflammation and pain meds to take home. The vet said it was not infected. When it was time to leave they insisted he pay for what they did that day. I called and spoke to Jessica one of the office managers and explained to her that we should not have to pay for something that they did not make clear to us from the beginning. They neglected to give us the proper at home post op care instructions. She agreed that I should of got proper instructions and apologized before I refused to pay for the medicine. After I stated we should not have to pay because of their neglect she then brought up the ear not being unwrapped the next day. We went back and forth for a few minutes and she agreed not to charge me the ten dollars for the medicine. Throughout the week her ear continued to drain which on Monday they said that would happen. November 19, 2015 there was a horrible foul smell coming from her ear so I immediately called them with my concern. I spoke with the owner Cindy explained the situation to her and she put me on hold because she said she wasnt there monday. Another woman came on the phone and told me that she should have been sent home Monday with antibiotics. I asked why she wasnt and she couldnt give me an answer other than "there mustve been confusion and I should come get antibiotics today". My boyfriend again had to drive from Tampa to Zephyrhills to take her back to the clinic. When he got there they cleaned her ear and insisted he pay sixty dollars for antibiotics. He refused to pay the sixty dollars for the medicine because again none of this would have happened if they gave us the correct instructions from the beginning. So he asked to speak with the manager and the whole time he left me on the phone so I could hear. The entire time he was trying to speak to her she was rude and continued to cut him off. She refused to give him the antibiotics for Babii that has an infection now because of their negligence. I immediately called the office and asked to speak to Cindy and was put on hold for ten minutes. I hung up and called back and the same lady answered and said she told her and she thought she picked up the line. She put me on hold again and came back on the phone and told me Cindy did not want to speak to me. I told her that is not professional at all. So I began to talk to this lady never once raising my voice, disrespecting, or being rude to her. We talked for sometime and she just hung the phone up in my face. I called back and she would pick up the phone and hang it up. I called back multiple times and she would pick up the phone and hang it up. I have never in my life seen or heard such unprofessionalism. They need to be held accountable for my dogs ear. I took Babii to another vet today and she is going to have another surgery to repair her ear.

I acknowledge the importance of having fair-priced medical services for our furry friends. That is what initially brought our family to Planned Pethood in the first place. However, the most recent visit will be the last time I ever entrust them with any living thing. Our family cat was having trouble breathing, but we were not aware of the severity. She had gotten surgery and a checkup on her last two visits to Planned Pethood which were only a few months apart, the bloodwork was only a few WEEKS ago. So we trusted that anything severe would have shown up on these tests that the staff at Planned Pethood had run. My mom brought her into Planned Pethood and they shoved paperwork in her face and pretty much told her to wait her turn, without even recognizing that our cat Bella had gotten much worse and was in obvious pain. My mom waited 3 HOURS before one of the rude staff members told her that they did not have the facilities to accommodate her cat and referred her to a nearby center!! Could they do anything about the pain in the meantime? Nope. My mom rushed her cat to the nearby center and they immediately took her and had the doctor look at her. Unfortunately, Bella died within 30 minutes of arriving at the new center. I am not holding Planned Pethood accountable for the death of our cat, but I do think they can be accountable for their lack of service. If they would have simply taken a look at our cat they could have informed us of the severity of her condition much sooner, at least ending Bellas pain much more quickly. I wont be visiting Planned Pethood again or entrusting them with any of my animal friends.

Very nice place and never had a problem with service. I have heard a lot of customers grumbling about the wait times but they are there hours before the wellness clinic starts then wonder why they wait so long. If youre going to a facility that offers first come, first serve for a huge discount you should be prepared to wait. If you want a vet where you are seen at a certain time and the doctor goes over the animal while giving vaccines I would think a low cost clinic would not be your first pick. they have cared for all my animals and never had an issue. To the people that commented about their animals not be seen quickly in an emergency situation I can only say I have no idea why you would rush an emergency situation to a spay neuter clinic. I have heard them make it clear to numerous clients that they are not a full service clinic. As a pet owner it is your responsibility to know where to take an animal in an urgent care situation. My dogs are groomed here and to the reviewer that stated they are tied to a wall in the back to groom, thats stupid. Who takes advice from disgruntled ex-employees? My bogs are in kennels or crates in the grooming room until they are groomed and again when they are finished. They ABSOLUTELY love Felicia the groomer and come home looking and smelling awesome. She makes my 3 poms look amazing. To the reviewer that commented he was concerned they were taken in back, nothing done and charged anyway, shame on you. Why are you taking your pet to some place you dont trust.
