If I could give this place a -5 rating, I would. I have had cats for 60 years, for years I had 17 cats. (12 inside, and 5 outside) Im not new to the care, or illnesses of cats. I took my cat here with the same symptoms he had a year ago. An upper respiratory infection. My previous vet gave him antibiotics, cleaned his stuffy nose, and gave me nose drops so he could breath. They explained to me that cats dont eat if they cant smell their food. As soon as his nose was clear, he started eating again. This clinic is more worried about making money than caring for your cat. They even charge you $3.25 for every syringe they use. (Ive never been charged for this in the past). When they finally finish up the paperwork, they take your pet inside. They have exam rooms, but they dont exam your pet in them (they dont have sinks, scales, medical equipment, etc in them) Eventually you are taken into one of the exam rooms to sit and wait, and wonder what they are doing with your pet. The vet finally comes out to talk about what they are finding, and to let you know they will be back with the estimate. They come back with a list of tests they say they need to run, with a low and high estimate.... my low was $900.00, the high being $1479.44 Then they want the money, and you have to pay the high estimate. After the money is paid, you are taken back to see your pet. They said my cat had to be hospitalized, and they would call me during the night with updates (they didnt call, I called them in the morning) I was told my cat had improved during the night. They wanted to keep him another day though. I heard nothing until 10:30 last night. The person calling said my cat was going downhill again, and the vet would like for me to come up there. The vet said it would be another $1500.00 to keep my cat there until morning. They could not just stop what they were giving him. (I was going to pick him up in the morning and take him to my former vet) I could go on and on about this horrific experience, but in the end I decided to have him euthanized. They really gave me no choice, unless I paid another $1500.00. Even the euthanization process was a nightmare. The tech had trouble getting the tape holding the catheter off his arm. Then they were going to put him in a black garbage bag. My other vet had humane little zippered body bags to take them home in. The only reason I went to this clinic was because it was at night, and weve moved almost an hour from our long time vet. (Wellington Veterinary clinic on Rt 18, they do have an emergency service also). Im sure if I had taken my cat to Wellington, hed still be alive and healthy today. MY FINAL BILL WAS $1695.96

STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! My experience here was very poor! My dog was having severe issues not able to stand, walk, anything, and had a seizure on the way to the vet. As soon as the vet came into the room he started saying that my dog got into something (there is absolutely NO possiblity of this happening as he was in his cage a large part of the day and was in my constant sight while he went outside when all of a sudden he started having these problems.) The vet told me it could be cancer also, or an imbalance in electrolytes. He told me he would get an estimate for the bloodwork before we do it. They come back with an estimate for $700!!! Luckily I didnt let my emotions get to me and asked for a breakdown of the charges, they tried sneaking in an x-ray without telling me! I hesitantly agreed to the expensive bloodwork only to see what was going on there before doing other expensive testing. Then, it was a waiting game. It took 5 HOURS to get his bloodwork done, thank God my dog wasnt dying or something in the mean time! The vet discussed the results with me and he kept talking in circles counterdicting himself! He was trying to play on my emotions saying he may have some severe genetic disorder and such. I decided I couldnt afford the testing and told him this and said I would like to take my dog home and if hes still like that by morning I would take him to my regular and cheaper vet. The doctor FREAKED OUT! He became extremely rude as if I was severely horrible for not giving him every penny I have. It seems like his only interest is money, not my dog; he was not helpful at all in actually discussing the more common things it could be like a stroke. He got very nasty and stormed out of the exam room. Then, when they brought my dog out to me, he was WALKING! No one told me that my dog had improved! They wanted me to think he was still doing aweful so that I would spend more money there Im sure... If you have a problem with your pet, I suggest you find somewhere else! Steer clear of this place if you love youre pet and want to be able to afford and receive the best treatment for them!

I cannot even BELIEVE this place is allowed open. Me & only one other person were there and the vet took over 5 hours to tell me whether my cat had feline leukemia or not. I asked an assistant if my cat was doing okay in the back and if he had ate or drank anything or used the bathroom?? She told me yes, hes fine. I starting reading reviews online and told her they were making me a bit nervous she told me people get angry because they have to wait so long because the vet is very thorough and that basically hes a perfectionist.. well that was bullshit. Around 5 in the morning the vet told me my cat needed to stay the night which I already knew because I had been to a vet before coming here who told me he needed to stay the night somewhere because he was severely dehydrated and needed fluids all night... that vet called the Lorain emergency clinic and TOLD THEM THAT. When I went to say goodbye to my cat he had no litter box no food and no water...no IV in him he was shaking and hadnt been offered any food or water after I was there for six hours now.... not only that but the vet looked to be falling asleep in his office. He called my male cat a she and had the wrong papers in front of him when he came to talk to me.. I later found out he was the owner. This guy needs to retire hes too old to be working with animals. I paid almost 600$ for this horrible service...

If I could give 10 stars I would. We brought my 10 month old Pitbull in for a swollen abdomen after a surgery. We had our puppy at the vet the day prior. As soon as we walked in and they seen our puppy they knew she was critical. The got a gurney and took her back. Yes we waited what seemed forever. Once we spoke with the Vet and we knew we may be looking at surgery to repair the internal incision that came loose, internal bleeding, pneumonia. My Nala was critical. They treated her like she was their baby. Tears and all. Her surgery was going to be expensive and she would have needed her stomach drained of toxins for about a week. What they were doing in the back while I waited was calling rescues and other places to try to find us help for the surgery because it was so extensive. They didnt have to do that. They went above and beyond to help my puppy. Just because you dont know what they are doing behind closed doors, dont assume it is nothing. Please remember your dog is not the only dog that is there and you dont know if a surgery is going on behind those closed doors. Please be patient in knowing they are doing the best they can to take the best care of your pet that they can. My Baby didnt make it that night. But when we picked her up to take her home to bury her, she was wrapped in baby blankets. I cant say enough for these wonderful people.
