Okay experience with the prescriptions for acne, very disappointed in the level of professionalism. Dr. Smith brushed me off several times when I brought up concerns and took little to no time to listen to me or take my opinion into consideration. Every visit I end up waiting at least 30 minutes before being seen for an appointment that takes less than 10. He never asked about my skin care routine, and the first time he saw me, he gasped and said it was probably the worst case of acne hes ever seen. My confidence plummeted. He also pulls my top to the side and looks down at my back and chest without giving me the opportunity to give him consent. The prescriptions hes given me have worked to improve my acne overall, but I have yet to have a week without a breakout in the 16 months I kept seeing him. When I vomited from a pill he prescribed me, I came to him in tears and he still had the audacity to insist there was nothing wrong with the pill for me until I refused to take it again. One time he told me to hold still and he sprayed a dry ice formula on my face without my consent and barely took any time to tell me what it would do and how it might affect my skin. I was also given a prescription that I was unaware required authorization from my insurance until I went to go pick it up at the pharmacy, and after I informed the girls at the office, to my knowledge they never tried to get that authorization for me. They never got back to me about it. Every visit he keeps pushing me to do Accutane, which I think I will finally try, but not through his office. Im looking for another dermatologist right now who is more considerate, kind, and respectful, and who I feel will treat me as a person and not as a bag of money. He gets 2 stars instead of 1 because the prescriptions have helped me not feel like a monster as much when I look in the mirror. Now Im just disappointed.

I recently had a minor procedure (lipoma removal) performed by Dr. Smith. I had put this procedure off for years because #1-I watched a YouTube video on how it was done (BIG mistake) and #2-My insurance would not cover it. I finally decided it was time with other people began to notice the lump and made the appointment with Dr. Smith. His office staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable in all areas of scheduling and pricing. The office itself was very clean and efficient (with big comfy seats in the waiting area). I was seen in a very timely manner and the procedure went amazingly well. Dr. Smith was extremely kind and took his time explaining everything to me. I was amazed also at how affordable the procedure was as I paid cash for it. I would highly recommend Smith Dermatology!

Terrible doctor. An exam that lasts less than one minute is not thorough. He is more concerned with his children than his patients. He is not very knowledgeable, but he is very arrogant. He is sexist and unethical. Ive never had a doctor flat out refuse to investigate an abnormality in a child, yet thats exactly what he did to us, making us wait another six months and risk the condition getting much worse with permanent scarring to see an actual dermatologist. Save yourself, and especially if you have children. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE! You will regret it! Please look at Yelp reviews for a better sense of how this man treats his patients.

Went here on two occasions for eczema. Both times it took two weeks to make an appointment. When I finally did get in to see him he was in the room for maybe 5 minutes. Once it was all said and done he prescribed me an ointment for eczema and one for acne, (I dont have bad acne and didnt mention it once.) When I got to the pharmacy I found out that the acne ointment is 100 with insurance. I thought it was a bit of a cash grab, but just told the pharmacist I didnt want it. I will say that the ointment he prescribed me worked (after months of using it) I will be looking for a different dermatologist if I have another problem.

I had a minor skin procedure, and the doctor or medical assistant did not explain the procedure at all prior to starting it. I also told the doctor that i had many significant changes in my medical history since my last visit and he did not bother to ask what the changes were. I was not given any post op instructions either. The doctor said probably 10 words to me total in the 2 visits i had. I felt like he didnt listen to my concerns.

I waited for 45 minutes for my appointment to be seen by the doctor for hardly 3 minutes. It felt rushed and incredibly impersonal. I left in frustrated tears. Dr. Smith also refused to prescribe generic medications. The cost of name brand would have been close to 200 dollars. Very disappointed after seeing the other positive reviews. I cancelled my follow up and was not asked why. I would not recommend this office

I have been to several dermatologists in my life since I grew up in AZ before sunscreen. Ive never found a Dr. as skilled as Dr. Sam Smith! Not only does he know what he is doing, he does it in a caring, warm and friendly way. He is now treating five of my immediate family members and everyones reaction to him has been extremely positive. If you are looking for the best, it is Dr. Sam!

I am fair skinned and freckled. Ive had hundreds of spots frozen and Im a little freaked out over him finding some basal and squamous cell spots on my hands and arms. Dr. Smith is reassuring and supportive, checking my skin thoroughly. I go every three months and he finds everything in the early stages. He is an awesome doctor, very smart and knowledgeable. I wont go anywhere else!

It was my first time going to this office, and found it to be very clean. The lady at the front desk was friendly and was fast at checking in. I was then called back promptly and then greater by the doctor. I felt he had good bedside manners and understood my concerns. He handled my situation quickly and efficiently. I was pleased with my results. I would recommend him to anyone.

Im a fan of Dr. Smith. I see him regularly and he works very fast but doesnt leave the room until your questions are answered and your needs are cared for. Also takes very early appointments so I dont have to miss work to see him! Would highly recommend!
