Where do I begin? The ER, while its doing its "best" to keep up, fails. It leaves patients unattended for hours while 1 doctor in the entire ER helps 50+ rooms. The nurses are doing their best. The facility in the ER department is dirty and OLD. It looks like something from an old TV show. Dirty floors and old uncomfortable beds. The doctors there are knowledgeable, enough. The time it takes you to get a hospital bill is 6+ months, by the time you receive it you forgot you had even been there. They have staff that tell you "It is covered by your insurance that I can see you" However, (in this particular example) when I saw this (therapist) I received a bill from the hospital saying that it was not covered. I do not have insurance! I dont have an income. I go where I can get my services covered, clearly this therapist didnt know that I didnt have insurance and I was billed. However, I gave them the proper identification and ID card for my Medicaid and was still billed. The Hospital itself is trying to keep a float in the busy times. While the main hospital is nicely set up and the staff are great and helpful, the services fall short. I took my health else where after my surgery because I felt I would get worse not better. Again I want to stress this the STAFF are GREAT! The services not so much... That is why I give this Hospital and its affiliates 3/5 stars

I recently brought a friend to the ER and was appalled at the condition of the hallways and waiting room. There was trash on the floors (soda cans on the tables in the waiting room, Iced Tea bottles on the floor under a chair, and floors were filthy). We waited 3 hours for x-rays, blood work, and a urine test which was never even done, to find out that the blood work and x-rays showed nothing. Unfortunately, the patient left with the same amount of pain and an answer of, " It could be this... so, try this". For a $100 dollar co-pay, that is not acceptable. Also, while waiting, there was a room that had a johnny, bloody gauze and cotton balls and a ripped off bracelet on the floor for over an hour. Not to mention the security guards sat in chairs in the hall with their cell phones watching videos on their phones with the volume up. Great new entrance, but I think the back side of the building physically suffered along with staff that must have been let go due to cuts.

I went to the ER twice in the last couple of weeks as I became highly allergic to mosquitos. Both times I had to my primary care in DE to help me long distance. The first time at the ER, went with an eye shut swollen. Waited to hour to see a doctor for 1 min (timed by my husband) who prescribed Benadryl, which I was already taken and had not help. The second time I went in with 12 days old an underarm infection for which my PCP had prescribed adequately but I was one of those cases for which it did not worked. Again after a long wait, this time saw a nurse practitioner who prescribed Bactrim again knowing that I just finished ineffectively 10 day of Bactrim. Ended up at Mass general..... Please avoid this place!!!!!!

My 4-year-old daughter fell off the monkey bars at 4:30. Unable to get in to see her Meredith based primary care physician, we took her to the Laconia Clinic (a first time for us). We were seen upon arrival, with no wait. The providers were very sweet and immediately gained our daughters trust. After an x-ray and splint, we were on our way home by 7:00. The following morning, I contacted the Orthopedic office. Unable to get an immediate appointment in Laconia, I was referred to the Gilford office. The waterproof casting process was seamless and we were back home in time for lunch. From falling to playing again in less than 24-hours!

Ive had 4 ER experiences at this hospital and I couldnt be more satisfied. The most recent was Tuesday, 5/16/2017 for an appendicitis. They were professional and efficient and showed compassion. They got me scheduled for surgery the same day and the procedure went perfectly. The overnight stay was as comfortable as one could expect with a caring and efficient staff. This was the second surgery in the last thirteen months at LRGH and I feel fortunate to have such a facility so close to where I live. Thank you LRGH!

Ive heard from many people if they were dying outside of LRGH they would ask to be taken elsewhere. From the reviews it looks like folks agree. Something must be done. Healthcare is screwed up enough as it is without having to deal with more headaches. I just read a "letter to the editor" today in the Laconia Free Sun paper (8-18-17) which stated they cannot do anything to treat alcoholism. They turn people away. Seriously? This place needs to be investigated.
