My first visit left me with an urge to never come back. I have never been to a dentist that relied on x-rays only to verify oral health. Worse still, he had no hygienist in his practice. I should have looked elsewhere. When you are low income and buy a cheap plan, I guess you get what you pay for. I needed deep scaling done. When it came time for that appointment to be made I learned it would take an hour to deep clean my entire mouth. This should have been where I said nevermind and that I would seek out another practice. All other dentists I have been to for a deep clean had to be done in two visits. It was always done by a hygienist with a treasure trove of scalers since everyones teeth are different. When I went in for this cleaning..I realized I had made a colossal mistake. He never checked the enamel of my teeth. He never checked to see how deep the pockets were around my gums, and not one time did he use a curette scaler or sickle under my gums. He used the cavitron from beginning to end and was finished within an hour. I cried later when I realized there was so much calculus left under my gum line that it seemed I never went to get cleaned. I was angry and quickly became depressed. Even more so when they call me wanting me to schedule a follow up. I dont have extra money to see another dentist and I sure as hell dont want to go back to this one! Do they care? Probably not. If they did it over like theyre supposed to AND by a hygienist without a second charge to me, I would be willing to change my rating according to care. After calling to find out if they ever got a hygienist in there and hearing that they didnt, I do believe that this will never happen. Poor people like myself get the shaft and an empty wallet. What an atrocity!! My name is Laurie Barnwell, and I urge you to find another practice that gives a damn.

Really long story short - First Really weird vibe from the Dr. Chawala. He was not just rude he was not listing when I told him I was in pain I also got the impression all the ladies in the office were intimidated by him by the way they addressed him - told me I need a deep cleaning & fillings - paid $400.00 for a "deep cleaning" all the fillings were covered - I didnt feel like they did a deep cleaning (Ive had a deep cleaning done before only 14 months ago ) -came back in twice due to pain after I had work done- 1st time was for a filling adjustment - 2nd time all I knew that was I hurting in the same area as the fillings and the pain was TERRIBLE- Dr said nothing was wrong with my teeth left the office actually crying- Went out of town and had to go out of network the Dr out of town prescribed antibiotics and said you have an infection and will probably need a root canal - came back to Dallas, found another dentist to confirm I do reed a root canal and guess what else.... a cleaning. - after the new dentist told me I need a cleaning I told her the entire story & all the details and in her own words "I can only tell you from what I see in front of me and you need a cleaning & a root canal." I dont usually write or read reviews because people in general tend to highlight the negative but I feel like I should warn people. MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS should listen to you when youre in pain and not dismiss you when you are clearly hurting.

Receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The Dr is not trustworthy. I went there one month ago for a cleaning and he said that I had 4 cavities. He did the cleaning himself (probably didnt have a hygenist) and it took about 6 minutes for the cleaning part and about 4 minutes for the polishing part. He never showed me the xrays, only the images from a mouth camera that showed staining in grooves on biting surface. I have not had too many cavities in my life and I certainly didnt have 4 at once. Today I confirmed my suspicion...I had an appt at another dentist that looked at those xrays, took another one, and prodded each tooth and she said that I did not have any cavities. He was obviously fishing for work to do. Very unprofessional. The dentist does not have a good beside manner either...was very cold and distant.

All staff were very friendly, accommodating and sincere. I already had a good dentist in McKinney, but was in extreme pain from a broken tooth. That dentist wanted me to wait a week and a half to have it extracted. The variety of pain killers, as well as the nerve block shots that I had to get at the ER were not getting me through the week and a half. I called Dr. Chawala on a Friday night, asking him to see me ASAP. Even though they were not open the next morning, he met me at 8 a.m. because of the pain I was in. He seemed happy to meet me and to see to my needs when I arrived. He is very time efficient, very reasonable on price and seems to really care about your dental health and comfort. Also, they are open late 3 evenings a week! I finally found a dentist that is a perfect match for my needs.

I made appointment first time with this Doctor to get second opinion. I had Cavity and need root canal, fillings for my couple of teeth. Doctor spend enough time to help me understand the problem by showing me all the pictures. Answered all my questions and gave me a very good quote for my procedure. I have been using my current Dentist from last five years and I was very much surprised to see a very good quote with all the latest technology for my procedure. I am very happy with the Doctor and the service I received. Total procedure took 3 sittings to finish and all issues with my teeth are gone. I appreciate very much.

Awesome experience! I dont know how it went with the previous review! One of the friend recommended it and glad I went with a free coupon. Had some toothache but no pain and doc. showed x-ray and teeth on TV so no chance of cheating or misleading! Went for recommended fillings and extraction and manager gave me a huge discount! Had been to different dentist before and told to be needed root canal and crown but this man did with feelings and extraction and yes even dont needed the prescribed pain meds. Thank you for the services and definitely recommend!

I have significant dental anxiety from a poor dental experience with another office. Dr. Chawala was very personal and careful with his work. It was most important to me that he never made me feel as if my fears were irrational. Ive brought my 3 children in to see him and he was wonderful with them as well. Amanda is great at explaining the financial aspects as well! Over all, Apollo Dental is a really great place to go!

I love this Place! I have found my dentist! Dr. Chawala was great! His entire staff was extremely nice. I am so happy I found this place. Dr. Chawala and his assistant Emanuel was very nice and truly care about your teeth. I would recommend Dr. Chawala to everyone. If you are looking for someone who cares and not out for taking your money, go see him! He cares about your teeth and not your wallet! Thanks Dr. Chawala
