I dont normally write reviews, but the service I received from Monarch Dental today was outstanding. Being uninsured I was hesitant to step inside any dental office, but unfortunately I had developed a problem & knew I ultimately needed a root canal. I began calling around to a few local dental offices inquiring about payment options & prices, not surprisingly all were unwilling to work with partial payments. It was at that moment that I remembered my mom taking me to Monarch Dental as a kid. They offered her an easy payment plan for an emergency dental procedure I needed so I figured itd be my best option. I gave the national hotline a call & began talking to a friendly staff member who patiently answerd all my questions, & set me up with an initial consultation the next day. Upon arriving at my appointment, I was immediately greeted by the employee at the front desk. I handed her my paperwork, which I had completed online & printed out, signed a few additional forms, & was whisked away to x-rays all in a matter of maybe 10 minutes after first entering. Once in the back, the dental assistant, dentist, & dental hygienist were all extremely welcoming & friendly during my entire visit. I could tell my well being & comfort was a priority to them. Being part of a national chain, I was a bit worried I would be pushed or upsold to additional services, but that was not the case here. The dentist did notice & mention other potential issues, but only recommended I at least consider alleviating those in the future. The prices were, like any medical procedure, rather pricy to say the least, but Monarch Dental does offer a 25% discount to uninsured patients. I was unaware of this, but had this discount applied without even asking for it. Overall I could not be happier with the way my first visit turned out. I definitely plan on making routine visits to this dental office in order to prevent another major dental problem.

Dr. Tran is a terrible dentist. I was sent to have a couple of cavities filled at the Monarch office in Rowlett that my ortho saw after my braces were taken off. I am fifteen years old. Dr. Tran wanted to put crowns on these two teeth after viewing the x rays. Thank goodness an assistant left early and we had to schedule the procedure two days later. When I went back to my ortho the next day to pick up my retaiiner, my dad visited with my ortho about the crowns. He has good teeth and never had any major problems so was not familiar with the procedure. The ortho was shocked that two crowns would be prescribed for a person so young. I went Richardson Denistry and got a second opinion. They saidcrowns were not needed. Since I am young, my teeth can handle the fillings. The dentist said if Tran had done the crowns that eventually it would have lead to a root canal on both team. In summary, stay away from this dentist. We dont know if they want to bill more or if it was a terrible diagnosis.Either way we will never return to Monarch again.

I have used this location for a few years. However seriously very disappointed for the first time today. I called a couple days ago to inquire about a service and was told that they would check cost and coverage and call me back. After 2 days of no returned call I decide to call back and inquire why I have not been called. To my surprise, Jennifer who answered the phone this time, was not a pleasant experience. She began to raise her voice, cut me off and over talk me making it clear that she was not the one helping me out previously. Wow. Truly made me feel not welcome. I would like to make clear that when someone is spending their money ( at a Dentist office of all places ) try and give them the respect as the customer that they are. There are plenty of Dentist out there. I enjoyed Dr. Tran but now I will seek a new Dr.

I made an appointment with the Rowlett office, I was told on the phone I would get an x-ray check up and cleaning for $29.99 Per my email to confirm my appointment I was told the same thing,when I got to office as I was filling out paper work I was told the hygienist was out and I would get my check up and x-ray but not cleaning and I would pay the $29.00 then schedule for a cleaning and that would be extra...I do not have dental insurance so I would pay out of pocket for that and she is not sure what it would cost. To me this is a scam. I feel like they should have rescheduled my appointments. The office girls are very rude and whisper and talk as though you are not here. I had heard monarch was notorious for doing this but I had to find out the hard way.

Please do yourself a favor and heed the warnings in the other reviews. I was not so smart and thought I would give this place a chance. That was a big, huge, colossal mistake! Apparently if you schedule a six month check up, it does NOT include a cleaning. For that you must make an additional appointment! What you do get is an "exam" which consists of x-rays and a nice little chat with the dentist. Thats it! When I discussed this issue with the office manager she blamed the scheduling folks for not informing me of this! The worst part is now that Ive gone here and not received a cleaning I now have to wait another six months for my insurance to cover a cleaning because they assume that a cleaning was done at the time.

I must say that this office has terrible customer service. The front office staff at least on the dental side is terrible. Long wait times on the phone, Ive had to speak with the office manager more than once. Dental staff flat out lied about my coverage and what I would have to pay. Ive had to follow up with my insurance about things that they were supposed to take care of. Lets just say that Ive been going to the dentist my entire life and this has been the worst office ever by a mile. Monarch needs to close this location or do a complete staff overhaul. If youre looking for a dentist or ortho office DONT GO Here! I will never go to another Monarch Dental ever.

Worst experience ever at a dentist. Extremely painful!!! There were 4 different people I saw within 30 minutes and I could not tell you who the doctor was. Expect them to use your entire 1st checkup to come up with a ridiculous amount of problems with your teeth. Then, expect to pay out of pocket for most of the procedures that are suggested. I should have known monarch dental was not a reputable dentist to go to. I found another dentist and was thankful to know that my teeth were in MUCH better shape than Monarch made me think after leaving their offices. Needless to say, I did not go back after a 1st visit. DO NOT USE MONARCH DENTAL!

•Dr. Thai-Lan Tran was so bad at what she does my 17 year old daughter now has anxiety attacks just entering a dental office. We will never return. She assured us little pain and not only was my daughter crying, she was asking for me and Dr. Thai-Lan Tran told her "no, you can do this, just a little more". I was specific that if my daughter needed me to come get me from the waiting room. She is not very professional and has no understanding of patient care. Doctors who are confident and talented will stop if it is too painful and move on to plan B. Not Dr. Thai-Lan Tran. DO NOT go here if you want a pleasant dental experience.
