Dont be fooled!! The good reviews are years old and IMO the new ones are probably fakes. This hospital schemed me and others!!! Id suggest to find another hospital if you value the life of your pet. This hospital has a bad rep with good vets because of their shady practices. I was recommended here and they said my baby had intestinal cancer and they needed to do a VERY EXPENSIVE surgery right away. My baby was not only 13 but had a heart murmur and I insisted this was a HORRIBLE idea. The staff told me she could die within 6 weeks if I didnt do it. In my opinion, this was a LIE just so they could get as much money from me as possible (and The vet tech also PROMISED me that everything would be fine and theyd done this before). Unfortunately I didnt know that until after the procedure when my cat had a heart failure and ultimately died due to their actions. They gave a boatload of reasons ("it would have happened eventually") but again specialist vets refuted their claims and all she had was a MILD CASE OF IBS!!! (by looking at the X-rays St Francis took!) and she wasnt Maine coon (they told me this was the reason she had heart failure). They LIED to me to get MONEY and didnt even care that they killed my child. And if the law didnt look at animals as property I would have had this place shut down, but I cant even sue them for the 15k I spent on her healthcare and I lost my child and the only love I had in my life. They might as well have killed me too. The doctor, Dr. McCown even ADMITTED SHE MADE A MISTAKE to my primary vet. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO PUT THE LIFE OF YOUR LOVED ONES IN THE HANDS OF PEOPLE THAT DO EXPENSIVE UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES THAT KILL THEM AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THEY MADE A MISTAKE??? Icing on the cake was they still tried to collect the money from me from when I took her back in right after the surgery once I realized shed had heart failure. They charged me for their mistake too! My first thought was when I walked in was they saw two opportunities to squeeze me dry.

I appreciate St. Francis as they kept my fur baby alive during a very scary time for us and did everything that they could to help her when she suddenly became ill from an autoimmune disorder. We did end up needing to transfer her to a university vet hospital when she was unresponsive to more traditional treatments, however, it is natural that a university would have more robust resources and did not reflect badly on St. Francis. UGA was actually extremely pleased with where our dog was with her care plan when we arrived and agreed with the steps that had been taken up until that point. What finally seemed to cause her body to respond was an extremely expensive and experimental treatment that I believe would have only been found at a university hospital (we had an extreme case). I specifically appreciate Amber (a nurse there) for taking a special interest in my sweet Emma and even calling me to check on her after we had transferred her over. It meant a lot to me. I will say in terms of pricing that they are expensive but in line with the Atlanta area market. UGA was actually less costly for some of the same treatments. But you cant always drive that long of a distance, and its nice to know that someone more local to Atlanta is competent. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend them in cases of emergency, but if you have a situation that is non-responsive (autoimmune, cancer, etc.) and/or limited financial resources, then I would also encourage you to consider a university hospital.

After a visit with a regular veterinary clinic, my dog was diagnosed with masses in her lungs. The clinic wanted me to get an ultrasound to see if the fluid was for sure from the masses and how severe the case really was. It was recommended to me that i bring my dog to Saint Francis for this procedure. I have to say it was the best recommendation i could have been given. My dog had the ultrasound and the news was not the best. They let me take my dog home and spend time with her in hopes that pain medicine would keep her comfortable. I ended up having to call them early this morning because she was having trouble breathing still. I had to make a very hard decision to bring her in and euthanize her. This was only two days after the complete diagnosis, it all happened so fast. I cannot imagine having done this anywhere else. The staff there was amazing. They have a room specifically for euthanizing that makes you and your pet feel like you are at home or in a peaceful place. We were able to take all the time we needed to with her prior and probably could have sat there all day until we were ready and said our goodbyes. i was able to hold my dog on my lap, just like i had done all these years. it made me feel like she was able to be happy and right there with me, exactly where she would want to be. After, they let me spend time with her as well. I highly recommend them and appreciate them helping to make a really tough decision, as well as a tough day, a little bit easier.

I have been to a number of animal emergency clinics with pets over the years and this clinic far surpasses all of them. My brothers cat was diagnosed and treated there and I was incredibly impressed with the care. All the staff and the vet were unfailingly kind and patient, giving us plenty of time to ask questions. We were there the day before Thanksgiving and they were very busy and apologized several times for the wait. The diagnostics were excellent - and his cat was not the easiest to handle. They gave options for treatment and very clear up front estimate of the costs. We did not feel pressured to opt for expensive treatment. His cat was very old and in kidney failure. They were gentle but honest about euthanasia probably being the right choice. This helped my brother to feel like he was making the right decision to put his beloved cat to sleep with no guilt or regret. The euthanasia itself was very peaceful and unhurried and they let him hold his cat on his lap. Lastly, treatment costs were not the extremely high end I have paid at other e-clinics, they were the costs you would expect at a regular vet clinic. St. Francis truly lives up to its name in the kindness and care it gives to animals and their people.

They took excellent care of our sweet boy and he has been recovering well thanks to their diligent care. I am a little concerned about the ear infection he clearly has and why I wasnt given any information on how to treat that when he was discharged, but otherwise I am very thankful for the vets and staff at St. Francis for clearly showing the same level of care to our good boy as I do. I think he might actually miss yall a bit! They helped us load the poor old doggo into my car and offered us a sling to support his legs. He was clearly very attached to them and he looked like a happy camper when we picked him up. The discharge papers they provided did an excellent job summarizing the treatement and recovery, including the medication dosages and how to deal with the E Collar (which at first I thought was some kind of smart device, but turns out thats the actual name for the "Cone of Shame". Overall quite satified with the level of care provided to my aging doggo. Ill try to contact them again regarding his ear infection, and will absolutely recommend them to anyone who loves their fur babies as much as I do! Thank yall so much!
