I took my minature Dash-hound there because the nail bed in his front paw was infected. They told me after an exam that he needed to have some teeth pulled and would have to be put to sleep. Two days after his surgery he had a large saging pouch of fluid under his skin where they ran the I.V I took him back up to the clinic to show them this and they said that it was extra fluid from the iv and it would be absored in his body and he would pass it. Well instead my doggie (Scooby) broke out in blister and open wounds clear down to his muscle tissue the whole length of his body and it was visible that it was where his veins ran. It tooks months of putting sab on his wounds and keeping him in a wrap everyday and a cone around his head to keep him from bitting it before it started to heel. They told me it might take up to a year for the hair to grow back. Its been a year and the hair has not grown back nor will it. I was never given any explanation as to why this happened to my dog or how it happened. They sent of samples for cultures etc, but no one ever stepped up to the plate and said this happened because we did something wrong and they didnt take responsibility for it. If this would have happened to my child, they would not be opened!! Im sure to most their dogs are a memeber of the family and loved just as much as a child is. This is just totally unacceptable to me and I would think hard and long before you take your pet to this clinic. I wish I could post a picture of his body on this site, because if I could no one would take their pet to this clinic.

A good friend recommended Dr. Beck for our english bulldog. Not long after we rescued him, we thought he tore the CCL in his knee (which is pretty common in the breed). We were told by another vet that he would need a specialist and surgery would be $4,000! Through my friends recommendation, we saw Dr. Beck for a second opinion. Our dog was fine! He had just "tweaked" his leg jumping and after a few days of NSAIDs and pain meds, he was good as new! Pricing was affordable and I appreciated the honesty about what my pet really needed. Two other clinics took only a few minutes with Sully, took a bunch of xrays, then gave immediate "he needs surgery" responses. Dr. Beck told me you cant see CCL tears on Xrays! I dont regret having the xrays in the case he may have broken a bone, but I appreciated Dr. Beck explaining that the CCL tear was not diagnosed by the Xray, like the other clinics had told me. The front desk staff, vet techs, and Dr. Beck were all amazing. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable! We had moved to Kennesaw and I swore I was going to find a vet "closer to home" when we got settled in, but after my experience at South Cherokee - we now drive out of the way to get the best care!

These are some of the most personal veterinary people I know! I have a German Shepphard that has been having all sorts of health issues. He is only 1 year old and should not be having these issues. He use to weight in at 68lbs and then was declined in weight. He was down to 55lbs. I finally decided to change vets and try them out after so many people had recommended them. They listened to everything I had to say without interruppting. I knew he was having food allergies I just couldnt pin point to what it was. We had tests done at another clinic which cost a ton of $$$. South Cherokee had all those results sent over to them. We have had him on a new diet for the last 2 weeks and he is doing so much better. He is also having a vitamin b shot every week to help out. He is back up to 65lbs and still growing which is excellent! I cant speak enough positive things about them. They are fair price and a close knit family from what I have seen so far. Very loving and kind to everyone and pet that walks through their doors. I wont hesitate to go back again!

Years ago I sold advertising. I called on many veterinarians and Dr. Beck at South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital truly stood out to me because he was such a nice person. I thought if I ever moved to Woodstock, he would be the vet I would pick for my familys pets. Years went by and I finally moved to Canton (close to Woodstock.) I asked my new neighbor (who is a veterinary pharmaceutical rep and therefore knows many local vets) who her favorite vet was. She said "Dr. Beck at South Cherokee Vet Clinic." Sadly, I had forgotten who the great vet was I had met years earlier so I took her advice and made an appointment. When I arrived at their office... I recognized Dr. Beck as my favorite vet from years ago!!!! We had a great experience at our first visit! Dr. Beck and his entire staff were great with our dog Daisy! They were patient and took time to get to know my family and my dog. Im so glad we found South Cherokee again! Dr. Beck is caring and knowledgeable. You can tell he truly loves his profession and his patients!

We visited Dr. Beck after after being referred by a good friend. Our 12 year old pup :) had some kind of growth on her abdomen that continued to grow, we had it checked out by our routine vet some time ago when it was much smaller and were advised it appeared to be a fatty cell. As the mass continued to increase we returned to our routine vet clinic and they referred us to a surgeon for removal as they could no longer perform those services there. The referral surgeon wanted to charge us between $2200 to $2400, after an already hefty $110 ( 5 min) consultation. Dr Beck broke down every single transaction and anticipated price, even adding having her teeth clean (she badly needed it) and it still only came to $1300. The honesty and fair assessment has us scheduling her surgery and talking about bringing in our other dog for his teeth cleaning and routine care. This simple act; honesty and integrity alone is enough to recommend this practice. The people who work there complete the package.

Dr. Beck, his staff, and his practice came highly recommended to me from a trusted friend. So I expected a good experience. What I got, was a great experience. Lola, our 10-week-old Shih Tzu was the star of the show. The staff and Dr. Beck loved on her like she was theirs, even jokingly saying that we were welcome to leave her there with them. Lola is our first family pet and I am a paranoid new poppy mom. They took the time to listen to all of my concerns, answer all of my crazy questions, and addressed my 9-year-old daughter directly about her responsibilities with Lola. Lola was completely comfortable with her exam, even having her temp taken, getting a shot, and a dose of medicine. I am so glad that I found a vet and practice that I know I can trust with the long term care of my pet.
