Tonight, our dog Champ got into some antifreeze and drank it. In my moments of terror, I called our vet to be informed that yes they can treat that but they were too booked and couldnt see him, and to therefore take him to an ER vet....which the closest is about 45 minutes away. Knowing what I know about ethylene glycol (or antifreeze), I didnt think that I could make it there. So I frantically began calling every vet to let them know what had happened only to be told that they would not see him because he is not a patient with them or that they were too booked. In one last ditch effort before I attemtpted to make it with him unharmed to the ER vet, I called Foothills Veterinary Hospital in Buckley WA. I briefly told them what happened and they told me to come there immediately ( which is about 8 minutes away from me). As soon as I pulled up, they grabbed champ and immediately treated him. Needless to say, they saved his life. They stayed WAY past closing hours and everyone pitched in to help. They genuinely cared about Champ and just did what it took to save him. And you know how much the bill was? Less than 100 bucks...which is less than what it costs to take Champ to my normal vet for a simple check up. Whe I asked why they did what they did, they simply replied.."We just want to do the right thing." This is they kind of place that cares more about actually caring for an animal than how much money they are going to make. I am in "human" healthcare myself, and the example they set tonight was something that I only hope I can carry on everyday as I see" 2-legged " patients. There is something to be said about that.Thank you so much guys for saving Champ...bringing him home safely to my two young children meant so much more than you could ever know. Jana

My dog Elvis came down with a mysterious illness where he was throwing up and had severe diarrhea. Dr. Vetter saw him immediately and quickly diagnosed him as having Parvo even though he had been fully vaccinated. He saved my dogs life. Ive used Dr. Vetter for both my dogs and my two horses. I know I can reach him in an emergency and at all hours. Dr. Vetter is everything you want in a vet. Hes the modern day James Herriott. He has an old school compassionate approach with modern day technology and knowledge. I have peace of mind knowing that should I ever have an emergency hell be there to help. He took care of my pony when she foundered and called in the services of Dr. Arnold to consult on a lameness issue with my other mare. I cant say enough about him and his staff. Highly recommend.

We love the practice and Dr. Vetter. Everyone there has been wonderful to work with and only has our dogs health at heart. Our dog is a 14-year old boxer that we thought was on his last legs (literally), but the staffs patience with my dog (and with me - even during emotional crying jaunts) has been amazing. Theyve helped him with his leg and have been so accommodating to our schedules. The cold laser therapy has also helped him immensely. I was a little skeptical, but hes starting to get around again like he was able to a few years ago. I can tell he feels so much better, and even though they were treating a wound on his leg with the laser, it has helped the arthritis in his hips. Its a great practice with a great doctor and a great staff. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Richard Vetter and his wife Kathy are AMAZING! Them and their staff are just the kindest, caring and most compassionate staff I have ever met at a vet clinic. I have been bringing my animals here for a few years now and they see large and small animals. They include you on everything and present you all the options but never push you in one direction or the other. A couple months ago my sister and I had to call Dr. Vetter on a late Sunday night. The clinic wasnt even open and he still let us bring in our elderly shepherd and he helped her out and got her all taken care of. I am so fortunate that this staff is so caring and dedicated to their clients. I will be bringing my pets here for a long time!

Recently had to take our 7 year old intact male Brittany Spaniel in for emergency care. Diagnosis was fecal impaction and an enlarged prostate. Doctor Vetter and his staff were very compassionate and took the time to inform and educate us through the treatment process. After treating the impaction the best option was to have our dog neutered. Surgery was performed with minimal stress and discomfort to our dog, he was back up to speed and hunting again quite quickly. Great facility with knowledgeable and caring staff!

The staff at Foothills is great. The gal that answered the phone was so nice and compassionate and they got us right in today when we needed to have our dog put to sleep. Dr Vetter was so nice to work with and made a hard time so much easier to deal with. I wish I would have known that they did more than large animals, I would have gotten all our care here! Thank you so much for being there today when we needed you ❤️

I was so moved by the Doctor and staff that was so compassionate with my cat and me when I had to have my 15 year old cat put down. I was crying so hard for the loss of my precious cat. My daughter had a sick cat, this cold son of a #$%^ told her he had to put the cat down, then BLAMED HER!!! My child has been crying for eight hours . Cold, Heartless and RUDE! Do not give this arse your buissness please, this man deserves to rot in hell. I cannot believe the audacity! Shame on you!!

They really love animals here and take extremely good care of my two dogs and cat. I drive an hour to get here and its worth it. Very modern facilities out in the country!
