I Cant give an adequate rating for this vet clinic -they rate 0. Nothing. 1/31/14 My 9yo cat was given a diagnosis of Hypertension & Hyperthyroid in 2012. These are life long that require daily medication - regular lab work 2-4 times a year dependent on progression and or stability. After this diagnosis, she had been back to them twice, only for them to exhibit unforgivable inadequacies,(other reviews). I took her else where, (her current vet). Nearly 2 years now this vet has been trying to stabilize the conditions diagnosed by the Animal Hospital- Maple Valley. 10/14 I gave up with the daily medication. The stress on us both trying to get pills down her; she wouldnt take them in her food or treats. The- wrap her in a rug, try to pry her jaw open & and put these pills down her throat without her spitting them up. All along her yelling,"NOOOO". Seriously. I had come to terms that I will loose my friend, but this was in no way a quality life for her; couldnt say administering pills everyday would help the hypertension. We went last week for her blood work & had blood pressure checked. She has NO INDICATION of either condition diagnosed by Animal Hospital- Maple Valley. NOTHING. These dont cure themselves. These are lifelong ailments. Was this a miracle cure? OR was she misdiagnosed from the very beginning? What would you think? Are you willing to take a chance with your loyal friend? Somethings not right here. These people are supposed to be college educated professionals - we come to them because they chose to learn & practice this profession & charge a fee for their services. Where is the vindication?? If this post alone can or will keep people from Animal Hospital- Maple Valley - thats a start. Thanks for reading

Do yourself and your pet a favor and stay away from this facility. They said my dog had a heart murmur and needed a an expensive test before they would prescribe medicine. The next week I took him back in. A miracle must have happened, because once I said I wouldnt have the test done they said he didnt have a heart murmur after all! He needed a urinalysis and they took him outside to urinate and then they brought him back in and took him in back. After that they brought him back out to me. I was charged an "exam" fee. I never saw a veterinarian. I never spoke to a vet and couldnt even verify that there was a vet in attendance that day. When I contested the charges, the receptionist gave me nothing but attitude. I have been a long time client and this is the way I get treated. Rip off. They want to charge for tests that are apparently not needed. They charged me for an exam fee, even though I did not see a vet nor get to talk to one. On a lesser note, my dog slobbered on one of the helpers. She looked at me and said "Eew...gross". I was polite and didnt say anything but sincerely feel this young lady needs to either find another line of work or keep her opinion to herself. I have asked other pet owners in the area where to take my dog and there were only two vet hospitals they consistently recommended. This place was not one of them. Now I need to get my dogs records so I can present them to a new vet. I can only imagine how much of a problem that will be.

My 5 1/2 month old Chug was sick and I had to have my niece bring her to see Dr. Newman. This is the first time Ive seen this doctor. Ive had other experiences here, however, this experience was by far the absolutely worst Ive ever experienced. They lectured us for not brining in a stool sample when we were not asked to. Dr. Newman was so incredibly rude, my niece almost left in tears. I missed a set of boosters and he said my dog is supposed to have a booster ever 3 weeks and I shouldnt have a dog if I dont know how to take care of them! He said theyre a lot to focus on just like a baby and I was breaking the law because I missed a set of boosters. I understand how important vaccinations and visits to the vet are. However, my niece did not need to get the brunt of Dr. Newman. If he had an issue he should have taken it up with me. They were well aware that the owner of the dog was not there. I will never enter this place AGAIN!

I too wanted to give this buisness a 0. I brought my small dog in thinking he was choking. First another customer was there checking out, her large dog barking his head off at me and my sick little one. The woman just stared at me, no effort to control her dog. The vet tech came out and started talking baby talk to the big dog. No offer to take my dog and make sure he was ok. The receptionist started with the before visit questions, "what is your dogs name?" my God lady does that really matter. I told them I could pay for the visit no problem, she said yes it will be an emergency charge. That seem strange since no one but me considered it an emergency. I would gladly pay for emergency services. I was in there computer system with previous pets. I left and drove to our regular vet, my pups ok, Thank you Afford-a-vet animal clinic of Kent you were once again wonderful.

I have taken three of my cats to this vet for the last 4 years. We were previously at Covington VCA. I love this vet for multiple reasons. They always fit us in, they are compassionate and their costs are exceptional. I read some reviews stating they are overpriced, but honestly, compared to other vets in the Covington, Maple Valley are they are very reasonable. When it came time to make a difficult decision regarding out 16 year old cat, they responded with compassion, kindness and practicality, making it a less painful decision. They did not try to urge me to spend excessive amounts of money to diagnose and treat, something I have experienced elsewhere. No one likes policies, and as far as discussions regarding spaying and keeping up to date with vaccines, that is called responsible pet ownership.

Our dog Shy loves coming here to see the Vet. She wags her tail and actually walks into this establishment without fear or need for force on my end of the leash. All the care she has received in her six years of life as been with the crew at this clinic - they are the best! From a major bowel surgery to having teeth cleaned, I am confident, when my dog is in their hands, she is and has received the best care possible. I typically do not complete online rating deals, however, when I saw that one person gave this clinic a one star due to charging $10 more for shaving a cat vs. a dog...hello!...have you ever tried to shave a cat? One word: chainmail. Seriously though - I trust AHMV and recommend whole heartedly you do the same with your loved ones!

Moved to Maple Valley 3 years ago and took my dog to for her first check up. I got a lecture on how I should spay my dog, even after explaining to them I was planning on have one litter in a couple years. Took my dog back there to get X-rays to see how many pups I was going to have, they said at least 10, so when 8 came out and not at least 10 I eventully had to take my dog in just to be sure there were no other pups inside her, that was $200. Fortunately there werent any left. I can understand if you tell me we are having 8 and 10 come out, but if you tell me Im having 10 and 8 come out someone screwed up. Not going there again and neither should you.
