My dad took my dog in for an examination because hes been acting weak and coughing a lot. When i checked the invoice it shows that my dogs fine just needs some major tooth repairs and some pepsid. A month later my dog was still showing the same symptoms and showing new symptoms like warm ears and a dry nose so thats when i took matters into my own hands. I took my dog to the emergency where he was seen by a SPECIALIST at SAGE vet hospital in concord, and the Doctor noticed that my dogs lymph nodes were extremeley large, swollen and infected which explains the coughing. Im giving Cal West a ZERO for not giving my dog a proper examination. They failed to find what was wrong, I had to send my dog to a specialist to find the problem. Sure , the invoice may be true and my dog needs teeth work. But to not notice his abnormal lymph nodes is one of those things you read in an amature101 book. This place is not qualified for this line of work. Waste of your money. If you want your dog to be taken care of, go to SAGE vet hospital. When it comes to your pets, you dont care about the money, stop going to cheap places like Cal West

I took my Dads cat to this vet right after my Dad died. They were all so wonderful. They treated us humans and our cat with such compassion and seemed to really care. They are by far the best veterinarian and staff Ive ever dealt with. My Dads cat ended up loosing and eye due to an infection. However they did everything humanly possible to keep his eye and made sure he was comfortable and out of danger of any infection returning before he returned home. They kept him a few days while he was recovering. After he returned home they rechecked him often to ensure he was okay. They are wonderful and reasonable in price. I wouldnt go anywhere else. BTW Ive NEVER written a review before, but I couldnt let such care and compassion go without sharing just how great the entire staff is at Cal West

I really love this vet office. One of our cats got really sick and ended up having to have a lot of tests and a surgery. The entire staff was so nice and friendly, and they let me visit my cat as many times as a I wanted. Lisa is especially amazing, shes so great with animals and she remembered all about our case, which was nice because it seemed like she cared and didnt have to check our chart to remember our names. Plus, they offer a military discount, which is amazing because it helps make the bill more affordable. As long as we are living in the Bay Area they are the only place I will take my pets.

I love Dr. Palm and Dr. Jerburg! They are great experienced vets! They were very respectful of my budget and only treated my dog with the essentials needed. There are some staff members that gave been there for 20+ years and past staff members come back as customers. I think this proves how amazing this business is!!!

I have known these folks since some of the vets were recent graduates. Always excellent care. They are especially attentive and caring regarding our pets end of life needs and care. They are the best. Their contacts at UCDMC Vet Hospial are very helpful.

Parking lot is small and getting through the narrow exit around back ( which appears to share lot with the car rental , so they block your exit if your vehicle is large). So perhaps exit out the entrance.
