Money-hungry, obnoxious, unprofessional, and borderline incompetent. This visit was displeasing from start to finish. The environment itself wasnt even pet-friendly in the slightest. It honestly felt SHADY- as if a group of con artists found a cheap unit for rent, put on some scrubs, and called themselves a "care center" for money. I understand after research that this is not the case, but I wouldnt be surprised to discover one day that the place is a complete front. When you go into a place of business regarding animal well-being, you expect sensitive, caring, empathetic individuals to make up the staff. These people, however, should highly reconsider their career choice. Working with animals is a special job that requires passion; your focus should be on the animal and on the client, thats your JOB. Thats the reason you get paid in the first place. If you are going to set up your business in such an aggressive way regarding client payment, at the very least put on a better show and EARN your money- perhaps act with care and consideration, as though you want us to be there. Just because you force your clients to sign over their money beforehand, does not mean you get to disregard your JOB. Whether youre passionate about animals or not, thats what you (make sure you) get paid for- sorry about it. The staff here treated my dog like an inconvenience, as if I hadnt scheduled an appointment for her to be there. Do not roll your eyes and put me down for showing up ten minutes early to an appointment, especially if (as I anticipated) there is a form that I need to fill out as your client before the appointment anyway. Do not yell personal information across the room at me when there are other clients in your lobby. The front desk employees werent even receptive. I spent most the time there talking in circles with the employees. Heres a great tip when dealing with clients: Listen. When my dog was done with her appointment, I went to the front desk to pay and get out of everyones way. Unfortunately for my dog, who was obviously feeling a bit sensitive, we got to stand around and wait for another five minutes for anyone to come to the desk to check us out. Not because there was some kind of emergency or anything, but because there was a cuter dog in the building. Surprising for a place so focused on payment to make you wait, but like I said- you sign over your money at the beginning and then the staff acts however they want. Once someone did come to the desk, she was literally SCREAMING in my face trying to speak with the client sitting in the lobby, completely ignoring me and ignoring my dogs extra sensitivity. The only time she paid me any attention other than to tell me my bill total- she referred to my dog as a "he". Like how much further can you get from paying ANY attention to your client?? You just said her name. Her information is right in front of you. As if you guys didnt already look bad, that was the icing on the cake. Not a single person acknowleged us on our way out. The reason Im even giving two stars is because my dog was thankfully un-phased by her shots, which indicates they werent harmful toward her behind closed doors. I appreciate that. The irony is that I paid for a year-long membership for this one visit, because we are never going back there... Its almost comical that theyd even expect people to want a year-long membership. $80 extra dollars from my pocket for me to learn my lesson and be able to write this review to hopefully help others in the future.

Dr Garberson is a dream. I brought my dog in emergently. She had nearly eviscerated herself on a tree branch that was pointing outwards. Dr Garberson skipped lunch so that she could perform surgery on my dog. At the time I was unaware of the where abouts the damage had been done but with the sliver of wood she sent home from the surgery we were able to correctly identify the mechanism responsible for Xenas terrible day. All in all they made a terrible day feel manageable. They were also receptive and listened to my request for sedatives as Xena has a high pain tolerance and a high anxiety personality that causes her to follow me about the house all day. The cost was to be expected for an 85 pound dog with an abdominal/ peritoneal wash out. Xena was fortunate to have not sustained more serious injuries. Were so grateful for the fast action and level of care the team gave Xena. Thank you all so much! The initial amount quoted was on the low side but I was not concerned with cost. Also they have a "care credit" type program you can be approved for that will allow u 6 months to pay off ur balance, interest deferred. I will always take my animals here.

Yesterday my daughter and I had to bring our very much loved chihuahua Chocolate in to Vacaville Animal Care Center. She was 12 and a half years old and having health problems. We felt it was time to let her go. This was the first time we had been there so not familiar with the doctors. But the Dr. who saw our pet [wish I could remember her name] told us Chocolate was in heart failure, so we knew for sure it was the best for our pet. The Dr. as well as the staff were all very compassionate. We were allowed to stay with Chocolate during the procedure. The Dr. explained everything to us on what to expect. She whispered a little prayer to her before hand, which I thought was very sweet. When our precious Chocolate passed we were allowed to stay with her for as long as we needed. When we left as I was closing the door I looked back [I know she didnt know I seen her] and saw the Dr. wrap the towel around her and kiss her gently on her head. It was a very hard time for us so Im sorry I cant remember your name. But thank you so much.

My first encounter with Animal Care Center was 1971 with my miniature dachshund that needed to be put to sleep because of cancer. The office staff and Dr. Barnes were so caring and professional. Now in my senior years I have Pekingese. Dr. Michelle Lee has a loving connection with dogs and animals. I have arrived at the office with my dog shaking as a leaf and when Dr. Lee comes in to the room and touches my dog they become very calm. She has now cared for my dogs as well as my familys dogs. Dr. Lee also has a special way with people. The office staff and technician also are exceptional people. I am so grateful to have Dr. Michelle Lee as my veterinarian and their staff. Thank you

I have been to many vets over the years and some I would not take a dying roach to (and I dont like roaches) but the Animal care center is probably the most compassionate facility I have personally encountered. And the "79" year old vet in the earlier listing is a gem who I believe has retired. I found him very knowledge, kind and he and his staff worked hard on my dog who would have died, but she did not because of him and his staff. I have had the chance to see most vets there and I would highly recommend Animal Care Center to anyone that loves their pets and wants the very best for them!!!
