I have had my dogs enrolled in the Banfield Wellness Plans since I brought them home with me; almost 6 years for my oldest. We have gone to the one in Dublin for the last 5 years, but have recently moved to the Peninsula. The San Carlos location was very convenient in distance, but I have never been so disappointed in the service provided by an ENTIRE veterinary office. Since going to the San Carlos location, these are some things my boyfriend and I have experienced when taking the dogs to get their check ups or otherwise: Mismanaged time, and no sense of urgency with clients time: I had dropped one of my dogs early so as to get the exam finished quickly. My dog gets very anxious at the vet and so I try to schedule them so he will not have to be there for too long. Not only did I not get a call, but I had to call THEM and they said he had been finished two hours before! Lack of knowledge of what services/shots/check ups are due. Or, it is complete disregard for the services their clients are paying for. Lack of empathy. Most recently I had a visit for my injured dog. It seemed like all they wanted to do was give me the options that required me spending the most money. ******THE VET ACTUALLY LEFT THE ROOM DURING OUR APPOINTMENT SAYING SHE WOULD BE BACK WITH A PRICING SHEET SO I COULD LOOK AT OTHER OPTIONS.... AND THEN NEVER CAME BACK! Even after I told the technician I had other questions for her. HE WENT TO GET HER AND CAME BACK ALONE, CONTINUING ON ABOUT HOW I SHOULD JUST GET THE XRAY. I was told I would be called by a Vet to check on the progression of my dogs injured leg in two days. I received no call, so I called myself the third day. When the phone was answered, the woman responded by telling me that she had called me back and left a message. I had checked my messages before hand and there were none from Banfield. Then, I was connected to a technician. I asked him if it was possible to get a splint or something to help immobilise the injured leg. He responded by saying that he trusted the Vet, and if she didnt recommend one, he didnt need one. HOWS THAT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!? After this last visit, I will never go there again. And I hope that by reading I HOPE WILL YOU TOO. Youll save yourself lots of money, disappointment, frustration. The list goes on. Poor display of any type of customer service.

Weve been to 4 Banfield Pet Hospitals around the South Bay Area and find San Carlos doctors to be the worst. Our dog has been on the Banfield pet wellness plan for 11 years. A couple months ago we needed a refill on our dogs prescription drug. This is a drug we were told we should never run out of for our dogs seizure condition. All the attending doctor had to do was approve the drug refill with the pharmacist. The pharmacist attempted to contact them three times over a period of one week. After finally running out of the prescription, I physically went down to San Carlos Banfield Pet Hospital where I was told, the attending veterinarian would not be able to look at the prescription request until that evening. I told them I was leaving on vacation in a couple hours and could not wait or put my pet in danger. The desk staff, who were actually very nice, helped me by sending the refill request to another doctor at another Banfield location. It was immediately approved by this other doctor and I was able to get the medication before my vacation. I filed a complaint against the San Carlos Banfield doctor with the State Veterinary Board. The next time I went to San Carlos Banfield Pet Hospital I was told the doctor could not see my dog anymore due to legal reasons. We now go to another Banfield and are much happier.

We are new to town and I just brought our dog in to see Dr. Kristy Moding at this Banfield for a comprehensive check up. She was prompt, efficient, very welcoming and caring and made us feel like we were the only patients she had all day...or at least the most important ones. She explained everything she was doing in a manner I could understand and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back!

DO NOT GO here. They are nothing but a vaccine selling factory. Unnecessarily gave my dog vaccines that she already had received previously. I was forced to do it since the Petsmart boarding facility would not board the dog.

I have been taking my dogs here for the last few years. The Drs are great & the staff are good. They spend a lot of time with you & answer all your questions. My dogs always pull me inside!
