Walking into the Clinic I found the atmosphere to be both comforting and welcoming, the staff was friendly and compassionate. I first came to Viking Vet after my 17yr old companion Kati’s health started to fail. Letting her go was a decision I had to make on my own but the staff and doctors were willing to allow me time and information in regards to that decision, they have been nothing but caring and understanding. I appreciate the knowledge the staff has. I like that Dr. Gilbert is able to look at the big picture in a situation. I was given information on behavioral modification and we were able to treat my basset’s anxiety after losing his house mate with a more holistic approach. I like the adoption ward, puppy play groups and overall culture of the clinic. I have senior pets and special needs. Dr. Gilbert has been able to listen to my concerns and work within my budget to ensure my fur babies are taken care of which I find refreshing. The fact that I am heard and given options for treatment makes me feel like I am actually being heard and it puts my mind at ease with making decisions for my pets.

You will not find better! Period. The quality of care is unbeatable. I have taken my pets to Viking for the past two years and have nothing but good things to say. The entire staff go above and beyond from the moment you walk in. Everything about the clinic was thoughtfully placed with the comfort of the animals and their owners in mind. Dr Gilbert and Dr Brock are sincere in their quest to promote fear free visits for animals and their people. They continue to spend a gracious amount of time helping me to undo stresses that my dogs had experienced from treatment from a previous veterinary clinic. Now going to the vet is a good thing for them. Their ears immediately perk up when I say "Do you want to go see Rosie?!". The clinic became one of my dogs favorite destinations. With good reason. 5/5 stars across the board.

Im am so lucky and blessed to have this clinic in my neighborhood. Every doctor, assistant, and receptionist did a wonderful job getting my cat back to his normal self. They all treated him so well, as if he were their own baby. The staff helped get him what he needed and went above and beyond to see that he was taken care of. Dr. Brock in particular kept in great communication with me and provided me with in depth detail of his care and his options. I cant say enough about this clinic! I truly believed they saved my cats life and I am forever grateful! You always feel bad for your animal when they are staying over at the vet/hospital, but they are in such amazing care and around so much love that it doesnt feel like a hospital! Thank you everyone on getting Pavel back! you guys are the best! Kristen and John

I would not ever use this clinic. We just got a new puppy. We know exactly what his breed is and the receptionist decided that the first contact with a potential new patient would be to tell my wife she doesnt know what our dog is. We went in seeking information on the clinic and care for our dog. Your front end person was rude and disrespectful and your first impression sucks. So glad someone with a basic education and no professional Vet experience knows everything about every breed. This is a piss poor way to start and exactly why I would never take an animal there. If this is the example of what its like dealing with your clinic I wouldnt trust anyone there with any of my animals. I will tell everyone I talk to, to stay away from your clinic.

My cat had constant urinary issues for about two years and has been back and forth to another "vet". He was given antibiotics and sent home. Dr. Rosie Gilbert was so awesome because she emailed me an array of reasons why he was having constant issues before I even made an appointment! She really takes time out of her day for every pet, not just customers. So, I went to her and she was AMAZING. We found out he had bladder stones because she ordered an Xray. I finally found out what was wrong with my little guy! He was given food regimen, cheap laser treatment for inflammation, and meds. She completely turned my cats life around.Everyone that works there is caring and go out of their way for you. Highly recommended ❤

The Camps

For almost 8 years now Dr. Gilbert has provided exceptional care for our family pets through all stages of life. It was clear from our first appointment with Dr. Gilbert that veterinary care was not just her job, it was something she truly personally cared about. One of our dogs and our two new kittens recently visited Viking Veterinary Care; her long anticipated new clinic, and we were quite impressed with what she has put together. Along with her exceptional and welcoming staff, Dr. Gilbert took great care of our kiddos. We are confident in referring our family and friends to Viking Veterinary Care knowing they will get the same great care.

Now heres a great group of people who not only provide excellent service and care, but they have gone out of their way to help me out with my huskys other needs. Whether its related to health or even pet sitting, the staff was more than accommodating to my given situation every time I visited. Although reasonable, some of my requests were last minute and were turned down at other clinics. But not here. This is the first vet Ive visited since moving to Portland and I dont see any reason I should go anywhere else. Thanks Viking!!

In my 25 years of using vets, this clinic is the BEST I have ever used!! From a sweet, happy, and courteous front desk to very personal one on one care with the back staff, such beautiful and nurturing care. Despite having some tough treatment for my puppy, she still makes a bee line on our walks to the clinic and bursts through the door with excitement to see everyone there. She loves them, as do I.

Dr Gilbert and Dr Brock are the best vets we have ever had for our 2 dogs and 2 cats. They take the time to listen to you. They get on the floor with your pets, play with them while che king them out and make them feel as they are visiting a friend. Our pets have no fear of going to the vets. Everyone who works at Viking are wonderful. I highly recommend this office for all of your pets needs.

I was really impressed by the service and the timeliness of the staff at Viking Vet care. They gave my cat extra special care and treated her very well. The shots that she received seemed painless for her and I was really impressed by the doctors knowledge of cats and how to handle them with the appropriate care. She answered all of my questions. My wife and I have been taking our dog here since we moved to the area and our recently adopted cat and they absolutely love it. The front staff is amazing, friendly, and professional, and the vets and techs are wonderful, we really feel like they treat our pets as they would their own. We would be very sad if we had to move away and take our animals somewhere else.
