I was dissapointed with my two experiences with this vet, especially considering the great expectations I had based on the glowing reviews on google. For my first visit, I called this vet well in advance of hatching and receiving a large flock of diverse and rare chickens because I wanted to make sure that all hatched and day old bantam chicks were properly vaccinated with Mareks. The appt scheduler let me know that their recommendation was to set up an initial appointmentioned ($85) without the chicks to discuss treatment plan with the verbal suggestion that the rate would be discounted since I was not bringing any animals with me. I agreed to this plan of action. The vet assistant and the vet were the same for both of my visits. When I was physically in the office the first time, the vet assistant and vet laid out the treatment plan of buying a full bottle of Mareks vaccine ($100) for the vaccination of an estimated 10 chicks, and billing per hour rather than per animal ($160/hr). I was also, again, verbally told that there would be a discount on my initial consultation fee because I did not have any animals nor was it lengthy. All of that I greatly appreciated. What I did not appreciate about that first visit, however, was having the vet assistant leave the room and refer to me as "crazy" in the halls nor having the vet say to my face that I was "just this side of crazy" for my love of animals, the large, exotic flock I had planned, and my diy building of a greenhouse/coop enclosure to safely house the flock. I dont feel that those remarks were kind, in good taste, or very professional for representatives of a avian and exotic veterinary clinic to make. I did not mention at the time that I overhead the vet assistants hallway remark and I brushed off the vets direct comment by saying "I guess so" in a shrug, truthfully to avoid potentially having subpar care the day of the actual vaccinations. Especially considering the vet told me she is the only certified exotic avian vet in OR. My second visit started out ok. The front desk receptionist ogled my chicks and took lots of pictures of them, which was sweet. I waited for a bit and the same vet assistant from before came in and took inventory of the number of chicks requiring a vaccination (9) and the vet came in shortly thereafter. The actual procedure was rather brief (<15 mins). My visit was soured after the procedure, however, when the vet assistant advised that there would not be a discount on the initial consultation as originally communicated to me twice before the procedure visit. I let the vet assistant know that I was dissapointed by that, because it was in conflict with what I had been led to believe, and requested that she discuss the original communications with the director/vet, which she did. When she came back she informed me that it had been decided that there had been a misinterpretation between the vet asst and vet during my consultation visit, and that no discount would be given. I paid the bill in full, but shared with the vet assistant that I was dissapointed by the decision to make me (the client) literally pay for their internal "misinterpretation". The vet asst apologized and invited me back in the event I needed any future services. I realize that she was most likely doing her best to move on from an admittedly awkward predicament that was most likely out of her hands, but the invitation to come back as she exited the room having just charged me well more than I was expecting left me feeling rather patronized. I am rating the experience two stars, rather than one, because the vaccinations were successfully performed and all my chicks have initially recovered from the procedure without issue thus far. I would encourage anyone promised a discount to get that in writing. And while Im not trying to suggest with my 2 star review that this vet is, across the board, a two star practice (I have no evidence or alternative experiences to draw from), I would encourage you to steal yourself to the possibility of a similar experience as me.

They have helped my bunny with a tooth infection and abscess, which is very very difficult to do. Her surgery was completed without incident and she healed very nicely. The office staff is also pleasant and organized and very caring. Im grateful to Avian & Exotics and highly recommend them for non standard Pet Care!

Amazing clinic for our chameleon! We were immediately brought into a room and offered coffee water or tea. Very clean place, great staff, overall best vet experience for exotics! A little pricier than other places but worth it.
