I have taken my dogs and cats to Ferndale and Fortuna Veterinary for the last three years. I was scared at first, due to bad experiences at other vet clinics, but we had moved to Fortuna and making the commute back to our old vet was just not feasible, especially in emergency situations. When I moved to Humboldt a decade ago, every one said Sunny Brae was the only place to go (and they still do). I agree that it was very good, but my personal experience with Ferndale and Fortuna Vet has been far superior to the care we received at Sunny Brae. Dr. Flores and Dr. Johns have been not only knowledgeable, but also kind and thoughtful. They have seen us through some very stressful, and unusual, emergencies and urgent situations. They take time with the animals and never seem to be rushed. I cannot recommend these two vets enough. As well, their office staff and vet techs are always friendly and helpful. Special shout out to the Ferndale vet techs who have worked through the howling of our hound. Chetco sends his love.

I have been fortunate to find a vetinary group that meets my expectations of quality and efficiency. The staff at both ferndale and the fortuna location greet us (my self and my dog) with kindness. I appreciate the efficiency as I live 45 minutes away. Making an appointment is convenient to and easy and the staff usually sees us within 2-10 minutes of that scheduled time. Thank you for valuing MY time! Several months back I had an after hours emergency with my golden retriever. I felt Dr. Ramirez was thorough and did not rush to send me on my way. I have had a an unpleasant expirence elsewhere and I was releuctant to trust a new vet. I am 100% happy with the level of care and concern the ferndale/fortuna veterans provide. I would also like to point out the reasonable price for any pet medications needed as well. I was pleasantly surprised to save $30 on medicated ear cream vs. a different local vet. I have been with Ferndale-Fortuna Veterinary for over 3 years now. I have 7 animals we take there. 2 dogs, 2 rabbits, 2 goats, and 1 cat. Recently I had an emergency with one of my dogs, a Siberian Husky, that blew out his knee on a Saturday evening. On Sunday, it was worse and I called the Ferndale Veterinary that we take all of our animals to. I saw a veterinarian on a Sunday to make sure what had happened and if it required an operation. It did, and he was added to the surgical list on Tuesday morning. This Veterinarian site knows its stuff. I trust them completely. Their customer service is the best I have seen for a while now. That is why we take all of our animals there.

I absolutely love the ferndale fortuna veterinary hospital. The staff have all been wonderful! i think ive seen all the drs and really have been pleased. I am trying to only use one, dr. Johns, as he knows whats going on when ever i call or email him with a issue. Of course all the drs are great and i will see them no problem. We are new here and its taking awhile to figure out skin issues with my dogs from the environment here. They are being very helpful. I have used Fortuna / Ferndale Vet Clinic now for 2 years. I absolutely love the personalized care from all the Vets. They are top notch Drs. I am a retired nursed so am medically informed and have found them all to be on top of their field. Also needing mention is the staff in the front office. All of them are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I cant say enough about the whole team. I am admittedly animal eccentric so that I use this clinic says a lot. I would recommend them to anyone who really loves their animals.

Ferndale & Fortuna Veterinary Clinics are the Best of the Best! I had the pleasure to work at the Ferndale Clinic quite a few years ago, and had the utmost fun working experience with all at Ferndale, and now get the pleasure of both Ferndale & Fortuna Veterinarians and Staff to care for our two Chocolate Labradors; Hollie & Hannah. We live out of Humboldt now, but both clinics are still our "go-to" Veterinarians above all. Thank you to all Veterinarians and Staff at both Ferndale & Fortuna~~you are truly the Best of the Best!

I like that they are professional and very clean. I get my monthly flee med there. Also, my dog has had reoccurring rash that was treated there. I ended up figuring out the rash was from Chicken, and yeast. One of their receptionist is always a bit snippey with me. The last 2 visits she hasnt been there. But, they are always nice to my dog. They are pricey though, so decide if it is something yout really need or something you can manage naturally cheapper. Overall, I have had a good experience at this vet.

We moved here from the Bay Area 7 years ago, bringing with us our 6 little dogs. Since then we have acquired a large dog and three cats. The care of our pets has been exemplary! Every doctor and member of the staff has gone well above and beyond in every area. We have never had such wonderful care; and we have had some serious situations with some of our elderly dogs. We should be so lucky to have human medical care that reaches the level of care Ferndale Veterinary provides our pets.

We seriously drive almost an hour to visit this veterinary clinic. They go above and beyond when ever we need their services, including coming in in the middle of the night and on weekends for emergencies. And even then they are reasonably priced, especially for the area. When one of our puppies passed away they even sent an engraved stone memorial. The staff here really cares and take impeccable care of our pets. Id give them ten stars if I could.

They refused to treat my dog who had been viciously attacked by another dog while we were visiting the Rockefeller Forest on 12/10/16. Apparently you have to be a client of one of the 3 Vet clinics in Ferndale for them to give a damn. So instead of getting treatment within 30 minutes of the attack, we had to drive to Santa Rosa 3 1/2 hours away. My dog has lost his left eye. You should be ashamed of yourself.

When my regular veterinarian told me I had to wait two weeks to get my dog in for an ear infection, I called Ferndale Veterinary since my friend took her pet there and had a great experience. They got me an appointment in 45 minutes and the staff was top-notch. Before we left I made another appointment to trim my mini pigs feet, something my other vet couldnt do. I will be back and highly recommend them.

I have had years of experience with Ferndale Vet/Fortuna Vet and have been very happy with every visit. Whether routine or emergent, they always care about my dogs. I appreciate the fact that they try to keep my cost down whenever possible, since I have 3 dogs. Dr. Flores is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your animals health, including following up with calls to check in.
