I dont usually take the time to write reviews but in this case I felt compelled to take the time and give some feedback on an experience I recently had at valu vet. First let me say, Im a single parent raising 2 kids along with a dog and 2 cats ( I know, its alot). So needless to say when my cat "little boy" stopped eating, not only was I concerned for my cat, but my first thought was about the financial strain a veterinary visit would put on my tight budget. My first call was to a well known hospital in the McLean area and I was horrified to learn that the office visit alone was going to be 80 dollars, and if he needed any blood work, shots or medications that would all be extra. When I started asking their prices for all that stuff it quickly became clear that I was not going to be able to afford to get my cat looked at and helped. I felt horrible, "little boy" is like a child to me so I was really feeling the stress of needing to find somewhere or someone who could help. I tought that every where was going to be about the same price, until I called value vet. The first visit was only 50 dollars, which was better than the first place I called so I decided to take him in and hope to get some answers. Within the first few minutes of the exam the doctor had already found the probable cause of.my cat not eating; a broken tooth. He was thorough and kind while explaining to me that my cat would be fine but that he needed to have the tooth removed and that is why he most likely stopped eating. He went over the procedure with me and had one of his assistants go over the pricing, which wasnt anywhere near as bad as I though it was going to be. Just out.of curiosity I called the first place to find out what they would charge for a cat that needs to have a tooth removed......it was right around 1000 dollars....value vet was under 500. Now like I said before, I dont usually take the time to write these, but more people who are in my same financial situation and have pets need to know about this place. You guys were professional, kind, knowledgeable, you found the problem within practically 5 minutes and u saved my cat. I cant thank you guys enough, and thats also why I wanted to write this; as a thank you and you guys have a customer for life. Lori S. And. "Little boy"

I had heard good things and wanted to patronize a new local business and Chamber of Commerce member. SO SORRY I DID THAT!!!! I took my dog in, was told that he probably had an infection in his anal gland, take prescribed meds and return in a week. The vet prescribed amoxicillin - the dosage prescribed wasnt available, the pharmacy couldnt get them on the phone so I went to the clinic, got a new prescription , took it back to the pharmacy and they STILL had to call the vet because the prescription instructions werent clear. That was the best part. My dog was completely listless ( I had to carry him everywhere) for the rest of the day,all night and in the morning. He hadnt had a pain med since the day before so it wasnt probable that the drugs were the problem. He was in distress and clearly needed to be seen again but I didnt trust Value Vet after the medication confusion so I took him to Mclean Animal Hospital. SO GLAD I DID THAT!! His gland was at least 5 times larger than normal. The vet explained all of the possible problems ( to be fair, the Value Vet also explained), infused the area with antibiotics, prescribed stronger antibiotics , added another pain med and scheduled a follow up infusion in 5 days. Mclean Animal Hospital was well staffed and equipped. I didnt have to go to pharmacy - the drugs were on site. The provided an inflatable cone which my dog can tolerate as opposed to the plastic cone which is completely uncomfortable. I spent $166.50 at Value Vet plus $80 for the amoxicillin ( which is not being used) for a total of $246.50. The bill at Mclean was $250.99 which included the drugs, cone, doggy pill pocket to help with med. administration, exam, gland assessment and antibiotic infusion. So much for the VALUE in Value Vet. I only rated one star because one had to be selected in order to write the post.

I have visited Value Vet twice and saw Dr.Watts and his technician Ashton both times. The doctor took time to answer all of my questions and concerns about my sick pup. He did not make me feel rushed and/or pressured regarding treatment and options as most vets do. The best part is I was able to treat my dog with the highest quality care at affordable prices. The technician was very knowledgable and made me feel comfortable from the moment I came in to the moment I left. My dog was also very calm with her when usually he gets all riled up at the vets. Lastly, there facility is SUPER clean and smells GOOD! I always leave feeling good about my visit! I would highly recommend Value Vet if you want great care at affordable prices!

Our dog is a service dog. Having so many disabilities in our home (shes my 5 y/os service dog) our income is very limited. She was sick and they took her right away. The techs and the vet were so gentle and sweet with her and they were great about reassuring us that she was ok (I was quite stressed. Shes an essential part of our sons life). We were able to afford her visit, meds, and Rx food thanks to their low prices. Generally you get what you pay for, but Value Vet is in a league of their own. Affordable care, amazing staff, and the location is great. I would recommend them to anyone!

I drove an hour each way to visit this clinic for an evaluation and got the procedure and it was worth the drive. My dog had been in need of a dental exam and cleaning and now her teeth are Clean, her breath is fresh and she has no more discomfort in her mouth. The staff were all great from the front desk to the techs to the veterinarian. I cannot speak more highly!

We transitioned to ValueVet when cost comparing for a dog neutering. Weve had subsequent visits for x-rays due to dog eating the wrong item to injured dew claw needing a procedure under sedation. They are significantly less money and provide quality care. I trust the team at ValueVet with our dog.

I am glad I took my dog to value vet. My dog needed a altrasound and within the next business day they had a altrasound tech come in. The altrasound tech took time to explain everything in ditails. I love their prices. Affordable :)
