I bought my Pet to this facility late at night. I was told the initial fee was $135.00. This fee was to include an examination of my pet. All was done was me telling the tech what my dog was experiencing and a thermomter up his anus. Did the tech ever tell me if he had a fever..Absolutely not. All she said was by listening to his heart to say did i know he had a heart murmur. She didnite even put him up on the exam table she did this while he was on the floor. No proper position at all. I have never seen anyone attend to a dog insuch a losey unprofessional way as the tech did. Then they say here is a plan of what needs to be done. A print out of a cost up to 8 hundred dollars. She said he may have to do Xray and blood, no one thing will let us know what was wrong. I declined all of it. I then realize i had nothing done for my $135.00. I had to ask that she come to atleast exam my dogs ears and look in his mouth and check his gums. The receptionist wanted to take him out of the exam room to take him to the Vet Tech. I told he no she can come here in the exam room. It was odd for her to say such. I feel this place had no personal interest toward animal they appear to not care actually. I have never had such a professional Vet to treat my dog let alone me in such as i have been treated at VCA in Waldorf. They just robd me of my money and did nothing or gave no advice. There advice was only about spending money. Crooks is what they are and the worst place i have ever been to. Dont bring your dog there, I wish i didnt panic then i would have research and read the review before i ran out the house with concern for my dog...but Thank God for bringing me to my senses. My Pet is fine, just a bad stomach ache from eating something he shouldnt have. VCA you should be ashame of your self and reported to the Animal Humanitarian Society. I rate you with NO STARS!!!!

If I could give this place 1/2 a star it would still be too much. I took my Yorkie to this facility today 4/19/14 and I had quite an unpleasant experience. The prices were ASTRONOMICAL. While completing the initial paperwork, a staff person took my dog to the back. We described his symptoms to the staff person and we were escorted to an examination room while my dog was in a crate in a separate room. The vet came in and explained the various reasons for his symptoms and told us that she would need to take xrays and bloodwork to rule out certain things. We asked about the costs and she told us around $700. She told us that the prices were high because "they were an emergency facility". We explained that it was not affordable for us to continue with the services. So we declined any care and we walked back to the reception area. We asked the staff person for the cost since he wasnt examined and she told us she didnt know "if we were being charged". The woman who took him to the back returned with discharge forms that basically covered the symptoms WE provided as well as his TPR - temperature, pulse and respiration. We were charged $135. We were only there for about 30 mins. After my girlfriend paid the fee, the staff person asked us what was our "relationship"? We asked her why was that important and was it necessary? She claimed they needed to know because my name was listed as the primary owner of the dog and my girlfriend paid for the minimal service of TPR - temperature, pulse and respiration. I was absolutely offended. I told her that we would NOT provide that information because it was NOT necessary that they knew. What difference did it make what our relationship was? They already had their money. This was insulting. I will NEVER come back to this facility nor would I EVER recommend them to other pet owners.

My 4 lb chihuahua was hit by a car, we were in King George Va. at the time, a GOOD 30 minues away, however, they were the ONLY 24 hour hospital that I knew of , Im sure theres more but at the time I was so panic stricken that I couldnt compose myself enough to think of another. I get my baby there, my dog is in critical condition and by the grace of God one of the techs just happened to be there and she grabbed him from me and ran him to the back. In the meantime, the "receptionist" was no more concerned about the situation than the man in the moon was. They wanted $800 to $1000 JUST TO X-RAY,and that was only to determine IF he could be saved or not, and that HAD to be paid BEFORE the procedure could be done. We had a VERY SWEET little girl that was his tech, the ONLY COMPASSIONATE ONE IN THE WHOLE PLACE I MIGHT ADD, Anyway, they wanted me to leave him as he was in critical condition upon the physical exam, I guess youve probably figured out by now that I was COMPLETELY broke so instead of helping a person that TRULY LOVES THEIR PET, they sent me on my way with a pain shot, pain pills, antibiotics and a prayer, AFTER CHARGING ME $300. IF I EVER FIND ANOTHER 24 HOUR VET, I WILL SURELY GO THERE. THIS PLACE IS "COMPLETELY AND SOLELY ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR, AND YOU BEST HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF THAT DOLLAR TO TAKE A MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY THERE IN A DESPERATELY CRITICAL TIME OF NEED. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED TO THINK THAT THIS IS THE BEST CHARLES COUNTY MD. HAS TO OFFER

Dr. Ahmad misdiagnosed my dog due to laziness. My dog almost died because he diagnosed her with acute pancreatitis, when in reality she had a bowel obstruction. He diagnosed her based on one lab value which is not inclusive. The x-ray showed significant amount of gas (which is a sign of an obstruction) along with a spot which he said he didnt know what it was. The pancreas showed no signs of swelling. We would have willingly paid for ultrasounds, or any other tests but he was too busy playing on his phone to care for our animal. He also estimated it would take an hour. We were there from 9 pm until 1:30 am. His discharge instructions included feeding her, and following up with my vet in 10 days. Feeding her made it worse and complicated the surgery, and if we would have waited 10 days, she would have died. At the point of discharge, I asked the vet tech about pain medication for my dog. She agreed that it was a normal treatment and went to ask the doctor. She came back and said that the doctor said if we wanted pain medication, we would have to come back tomorrow. I wouldnt take my worst enemy here. $1,000 for them to almost kill my dog. We followed our gut and took her to another emergency clinic, where she was rushed to emergency surgery. The only good thing I have to say about this place was the vet techs and receptionist were very pleasant. Do not take your animal here. It is not worth it!!
