My sister brought her dog into the facility for lethargy. The receptionist were very rude to her and the doctor was not straight forward with her. Due to financial reasons my sister opted to take her dog to receive treatment from a regular veterinarian where the costs will be cut in half compared to what Emergency care would cost. my sister was told by the staff that they will call animal control for animal cruelty on her if she took her dog. I am a veterinary technician at a vet hospital my sister was transferring the care of her dog to. After talking to the vet at emergency care she beat around the bush saying the dog needs this that and the other. Making it sound like it was a normal anemia case that will make a full recovery with proper care. I kindly explained to him my sister is transferring care of her pet to the vet clinic where I work due to financials and then the vet came clean and said the dog was to far gone beyond the point of saving! I believe if he was straight forward to begin with and admit to my sister and husband that the dog is not stable and likeliness of her making it even with treatment was slim to none instead they said we need to do this and that and talk money not giving them the option to think before they blow all this money that there dog still might not make it letting them think that the dog is savable. Honesty goes along way. It could of made an already stressful situation a lot less stressful and painful for my sister and family. If the doctor was honest in the beginning my sister could of made the euthanasia option and be at peace somewhat that she was able to help her ease her pets suffering instead they asked for money left and right and was treated so rudely and would of put the dog through a lot of discomfort trying to save her when they knew she was to far gone. They are an emergency clinic and the staff needs to be retrained on being professional and be taught how to handle certain reactions and situations that arise in pet emergency care and keep personal thoughts to themselves.

We had a small emergency with our sibling pit bull puppies this past Tuesday night around the midnight hour, we went directly to Dr. Foxs new hospital, and I was so happy to see Dr. Johnson again! Dr. J was with Dr. Fox at the Indian Head Clinic (Glymont Animal Hospital, now Potomac Animal Wellness Services ("PAWS")) some years ago, both she and Dr. Fox took absolutely wonderful care of all of my dogs, several generations of dogs now! Dr. Fox is my hero, he helped my little sheltie Patches live a good, healthy, happy and long life after diagnosing her with diabetes incipidus, he worked so hard with us to determine the correct medication dosage, believe me it was a process that took several months. I will never ever forget him for that. Dr. Fox and Dr. Johnson have taken care of all of my dogs since Patches. I believe in both of them, their heart is with you and your pet, believe me - they are just awesome. Put your faith in them when you need help for your pet. Your pet will thank you in so many ways for years to come. We ♡ love you Dr. Fox and Dr. Johnson, thank you so much, love from Lesley, Lloyd, LuLu, ReaRea, Josylyn, Checkers, Scout, Patches and those puppies yet to come ♡

My experience with WeCare was absolutely horrible. My beloved dog was attacked by a pitbull . On the recommendation of my veterinarian I took him over to WeCare, to ensure the neck laceration he received from the pit attack did not damage his major artery in his neck. These people show me how much they dont care. They often talk about cost and I got the impression that money was the only goal. They really didnt care if my beloved dog would survive his injury. They quoted me a price which I had no problem paying, however it was such emergency I left home with only my debit card and not credit. I ask if I left my debit card and my son could I run and get my credit card. Will they get started working on my beloved doggy. The tech refused so I asked to speak with the office administrator who never came to speak with me just the front desk person. Please do not bring your pets there if it is an emergency, because your pets will suffer until they get money. VCA Southern Maryland is a little more expensive but they gave our beloved dog the emergency care he needed right away and showed the compassion needed to the owners.

I was sent here by my normal vet in order to get an ultrasound on my dogs stomach and intestines. There was an abnormality in the x-ray that he completed and recommended that I get further evaluation prior to making any decisions for a care plan. My initial impression upon arrival at We Care was how clean the facilities are. The staff was kind and sympathetic of the ongoing situation and did everything they could to help diagnose the issue. The vet explained my options and made her recommendation. She provided an estimate of the cost which put me at ease and eliminated me from pondering the cost of diagnosis. Never once did the vet make the cost of the treatment a priority in the conversation. She wanted me to be as informed as possible prior to making my decision for a course of treatment. If your fur baby needs an emergency vet visit you should definitely take them to We Care!

We love this place! One phone call & we were in the door with no issues! Our Old English Bulldogge is currently staying here as we speak. She decided she was going get get a toy lodged in her tummy. After taking her to Helping Hands in Richmond to get surgery they recommended a 24 hour after care, so we found this place. One step in the door & it was a sigh of relief! This place was extremely clean & didnt have an odor of wet dog like most places. The entire staff that has been taking care of our girl has been absolutely amazing. The prices are extremely fair as well. We had such a run around with our fur baby but Dr. Fox took care of everything right away. Dr. Fox is wonderful, he is so compassionate about his job & thats such a warm feeling. I highly recommend this veterinarian!

Excellent experience! My pup Ellie suffered an allergic reaction which caused her to develop hives all over. One of her eyes was also swollen almost shut. Ellie and I took the trip to WECARE this morning, and experienced nothing bit kindness. From my initial phone call to our visit with the vet tech to our consultation with Dr. Fox, each person was wonderful. You could tell the staff really cared about her well-being. They all showered Ellie with love as well as concern. I could not be happier with the service we received (and care Ellie received). What I was charged for Ellies care was right around what I expected, so I would say their prices are fair. I would not hesitate to return to WECARE, and will certainly recommend them in the future to others. Thanks Dr. Fox and WECARE!

I will never bring my dog there again. First off I had them cut his nails and they completely took off his whole nail and never said anything to me. I discovered it when I got home. He wont even let me touch his paws now. I brought him in for having blood in his diarrhea and they gave me a six hundred dollar estimated bill. Yes it was just a quote but they added food, x Rays, two different fecal exams, blood work, pancreatic test and some other test that had nothing to do with his poop. When I tried to minimize the bill and get rid of one of the fecal test and the food the nurse began to patronize me. They didnt even check his anal glands and surprise thats what it was. The doctor was friendly but I will still never bring my dog there again. His nail is completely gone.
