After much research into vets and animal hospitals in the area, I chose Caring Hands for their reputation, outstanding and devoted staff, and knowledgeable vets. We first went to the Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Merrifield but have since transferred to the Alexandria location due to the proximity to our home. There are a total of 8 locations in the D.C. metropolitan area. Three days after picking up our golden retriever puppy from our breeder, we took him to Caring Hands for a check-up and have been back at least three times for additional check-ups and vaccinations. I am very impressed with the level of attention Caring Hands devotes to us and our golden puppy. Were always sent reminder emails and calls of his appointments, as well as a follow-up call the next day to see how hes doing. I really appreciate the follow-up calls; its a small gesture but it means a lot to us pawrents that the hospital and the staff pay such loving care to our dog. Its very apparent that all staff members love animals, and they always treat our puppy as though he was one of their own. He gets spoiled with belly rubs, hugs, and treats (which they always ask if they can give him). The staff always listens to our concerns and goes through their notes with the vet before the doctor comes in to meet with us. They also give us literature on certain vaccinations and preventatives they recommend for our fur baby. Were seen right away - no delays whatsoever - and processed very quickly too. The facility is very clean and bright. With their online pharmacy, Ive been able to complete preventative refill requests online and conveniently picked them up when we have appointments. Prescriptions can also be delivered right to your home. My only minor gripe is the pet portal. I had to make different accounts since I switched from the Merrifield to the Alexandria location (thankfully, the staff at Merrifield transferred all of our pups records to Alexandria). It seems a bit silly to have a different account for each Caring Hands location; I would have imagined that since theyre all Caring Hands facilities, the system would be overarching. Also, the site isnt very user-friendly. Wonderful staff and vets, clean and welcoming facilities, and a dedication for all furry and non-furry friends. Caring Hands has been very good to us and to our dog, and we hope to continue this strong relationship for many, many years to come.

I originally took my pets to Caring Hands Centreville, and was always happy and satisfied with my visits there. Additionally, the group I fostered for used them so I was there often and felt confident that they would be able to help with any issues I had. They are efficient, organized, and the facilities are immaculate. It wasnt until I moved to Alexandria that I realized how good they were after a few unsatisfactory visits at other vets. I was beyond happy when I saw they were opening a location just down the road from me, and even happier once I began seeing Dr Planeta. While every vet I have encountered there has been compassionate and very attentive, Dr Planeta has gone above and beyond time and time again. She always takes the time to discuss any concerns I have and has gotten us through a lot of challenges with chronic illnesses. She not only works very hard to care for her patients, but to educate pet parents and empower them to take control of their own pets health. I have learned so much from her and can always rely on her to be honest, explain everything, and do right by my pet. Additionally, as the Operations Manager of a local Pet Sitting and Dog Walking business, I value her and the staff as a resource for my clients, and I have heard from many clients how pleased they have been with their care there. If you are looking for a trustworthy and incredibly talented veterinary clinic, look no further. The staff at Caring Hands Alexandria is phenomenal!

We recently had a teeth cleaning and four tooth extractions for our dog Midnight. She was well taken care of and we are able to bring her back in the next day to be taken care of, as she was not eating, drinking or taking her meds. I received a phone call before and after the procedure as well a check up call. When I brought her back the next day, the staff helped with feeding her and giving Midnight her meds as well as taking her for walk. I picked her up after work, with peace of mind knowing that she was doing better than when I had dropped her off earlier. The great part about it, was the staff took care of her for the day, while I was at work and I was not charged extra for the extra care. I would recommend this place! I will continue to have my pets needs and healthcare taken care of by this place.

Fiancé took my cat here today because she has been leaking urine. The receptionist was nice, but that is it. after giving my cat a pricey physical (which was the extent of checking her heart beat and eyes feeling her bladder and dismissing her) they handed my fiancé a price sheet for other expensive tests they could run. And dismissed his claims of her having a uti and no need for antibiotics. Luckily my cat than leaked on the table. The vet collected the urine off the table and looked at it under a microscope (and charged me $56 for urine collection off the table) which confirmed she had an infection. Prescribed antibiotics and we left with a hefty bill.

Im really impressed with our visit to the Alexandria Caring Hands, you can tell they love what they do and they care how they do it! Those sweet little touches like the frozen treat was great, Moose thoroughly enjoyed it! Also when we walked in there was a colorful chalkboard welcoming Moose to the Caring Hands family.....too cute! It is clean, and from the reception to the techs, to the Dr was all top notch! They offered services I opted for some and not for others and they were perfectly fine with my decisions, no push back! Sooooo much appreciated!

Ive been going to Caring Hands for a number of years and have been very satisfied with the help and service provided by everyone. I worked with Brian Newmann towards the end of my dog Dixons life and he was extremely understanding and helpful with explaining possible treatment options and what to expect. I never felt pressured for not pursuing expensive treatments options and worked within my budget. He is probably the best vet that I worked with over the 11 years I had my dog. I would recommend this vet to anyone and especially Brian.

Today we said goodbye to our family dog, my baby girl of 14 years, Hope. I dont think i could have picked a better places. The staff was amazing and the vet that took care of us was truelly the best. In the last moments she was right there crying with us as my Hope took her last breath. I was recommended to the animal hospital and would do the same with to anyone else who has to make such a hard choice. Thank you! You made today special and even let us help with making the clay footprints of my baby girl that i will cherish forever.

The staff at Caring Hands are all kind and friendly animal lovers. I go there for all of my cat and dogs health care needs and I couldnt be happier! Everything from the free coffee in the waiting room to the friendly reception desk to the gentle and competent care of the vet assistants and doctors equals a very positive experience at the vets office. Especially when you consider how many vet visits involve either very bad news or anguished good-byes, its good to have kind supportive people there when you need them the most.
