I was a long time customer of this veterinary clinic (5+ years). Dr. Barstow is a great vet. Very nice and personable. Its a shame that I cant take my pets to her anymore. My complaint is about their pricing. I took my cats in for a visit and was told that one of them had a tarter level "2" and required a dental cleaning. Hes a 9 year old cat, slightly overweight, but in good health overall. The quote they gave me for the cleaning was $480 minimum!!! This price included the anesthetic, cleaning, and mandatory blood work. If he required extractions or other things done while under anesthetic, it would be an additional charge! When I called other local vets, they quoted me about $200-$250 less for the same exact procedure. When I called Osburn Veterinary back, and asked why their price was so unbelievably high, the receptionist informed me that "they have state of the art equipment and they have to pay for it somehow." Excuse me? By overcharging customers??? I found this to be a ridiculous amount for a normal procedure that is necessary to keep my cat healthy. Im a good pet parent. I care about my animals, and I like Dr. Barstow. But $500 is too much for a regular cleaning on my pet. Osburn just lost a very loyal customer. I wont be going back there. Also, I called and asked to speak to Dr. Barstow to let her know how I was feeling, and Im STILL waiting for a return call (a week later). I tried calling again this morning, but she was in a procedure. Im very disappointed and I cannot recommend this vet.

Please see the clinics Facebook page to read the long version of our thankful story. A story about Dr Osburns beyond the call of duty help in the middle of the night to save the life of our horse. Into the wilderness, early in the morning to help strangers, terrified with losing another horse. A family member who is our unruly, monster athlete, family teenager; the darling of his "mother". It could have been a crank call, someone wishing to do harm.....but disrupting his life to perhaps help save one of our family. We wish a super THANK YOU. Gentle care of horse and family...great knowledge of the diagnosed problem.....treatment which thankfully worked...much appreciated. Top notch, heart of gold, professional; I wish we had more stars to give. Drs Robert Muckey and Gayle Gennette Roseburg, Oregon Sacramento, California

I have taken our cats to the Osburn Vet Clinic, Dr. Barstow and Dr. Osburn for 13 years and have received excellent professional care. Both vets helped us with accurate information and treatment of a 13 year old cat with uncontrollable/unpredictable diabetes. Dr. Barstow is currently in the process of diagnosing our 4year old indoor cat, Pixie, who has an undetermined , rare lung condition. Dr. Barstow has spent a lot of time and attention to our cats condition, including consulting vets outside of Florence. She has always been gentle, caring and thorough with our forever friends. This clinic is the best weve taken our cats to .... (Including Chicago and Portland). Ive had cats since 1965. Ruby has always fit us into their busy clinic when it was necessary.

The staff was rude and condescending. I waited 60 minutes for my time with the vet, although I was there on time. The doctor was very nice and seemed interested in caring for my animal. The tech that helped the doctor was nice also. My main beef is the price they want to charge for dental cleaning! One of my dogs was quoted at 900 to 1000 dollars. The other one was quoted at 400-500 dollars. YIKES!!! Needless to say I cannot afford that type of expenditure and I was treated rudely by the front office staff because I explained I couldnt afford those fees. They made me feel like I was abusing my beloved girls. This was my experience with Osburn Vet Clinic, I hope yours will be better.

I too, was given a ridiculous quote to clean my cats teeth...beginning at $480.00 and up!! What a crock! The average person cant afford to care for their pets appropriately with these kind of charges...I have two cats, it would more than likely be well over $1000.00 to have their teeth cleaned....I had one vet suggest that some people have to have their pets teeth cleaned 2x a year!!! Yeah, nice way to make a ton of money. Ive heard this is the "bread and butter" of veterinary care and a much abused practice...I guess my cats and many other pets will just have to suffer with dental problems.

These people kept me in the waiting room while my dog died. I then received the vets notes in the mail, instead of the usual condolence card. Attached to the vets notes was a reminder to bring my (now deceased) dog back in one year for a wellness check. I was also charged over $80 for an x-ray of my cats abdomen that turned out to be useless as my cat had recently eaten. The vet never asked me when my cat had last eaten. And I heard her cry out in pain from the next room. Very poor care. Im disappointed, hurt, and frustrated. I will NEVER take any animal to this clinic again.

Professionalism with class - our dachshund had to be put down due to paralysis. Dr. Montes and her technicians (including the receptionist) were very professional during the whole process. We were scheduled to come in the next business day (although they were booked) to accommodate the special arrangement. The place was very clean, everything looked well organized and the staff has been very helpful and just professional on every level. I would not hesitate to recommend to anybody and if our 2nd pet has got any issues, this is the only place I will visit in Florence and the area.

Boarded my dogs with them in Reedsport and the moment I picked them up I knew something went horribly wrong. My dogs were treated incredibly poorly. One of my dogs could go hours and hours holding her bowels (Found that out getting stuck out of town for hours) and she never had an accident; when they spent three nights with them in Reedsport, She peed her bed everyday. They both smelled horribly and were visibly shaken. Something horrible went wrong during those three days. I will never take my animals back to them. Ever.

I have gone in that vet two times the first time I felt like we where just $$$ signs. The visit was over priced and the medications almost double the bill. We made a appointment for our dachshund and we showed up early. No smile or attempts to help out wounded dog.just told to she would check us in ate 310 for our340 appointment.no feelings just a rude stare. Wont go back

Moved to Florence a week ago, my little chihuahua became gravely ill during the night and when i called i was told, "sorry, we dont have any openings", no suggestions on where to go for help or anything. not a good first impression. this person could have cared less about my animal.

I am thoroughly pleased with the care of my cats at Osburns Vet Clinic. The staff is mellow. The vets and staff are so caring and thorough in a genuine way. I am happy and relieved to have found a haven of care when my cats are in need. Their healing process is wonderful. Kathleen
