Not happy with this establishment. Never see the same vet.... and staff turnover make the whole process go slower. I have been coming here for decades, thinking next time will go smooth, but no. Took my cat in for her teeth problems, only to leave with a 138.00 Bill for her ears. They always have seasonal yeast, tested without asking me 25.00. Then 36. in ear drops.... had to ask twice for teeth right up. Uggg what a rip-off. Just wish I stood up for myself, and complained. Very disappointed. Update: I just received a letter 4/18/17 from MACC stating they no longer want to see my pets...Holy cow! The ear meds did not help my cats ears or change her teeth issues... No change... and furthermore, when I tryed to get my cats teeth done, you sent a nasty message/records to the could of been, new vet, SB, saying "I didnt care about my cats ears".and "I was concerned about putting her under" (because of issues of my last dog almost dying there "under") but how else... Sunny Brea declined to help her. Now I have to pay for another exam, find a real good vet, to get my cats teeth cleaned and checked, and now she is in pain. I knew something besides her seasonal ear allergies, was bothering my Kitty... This is all just wrong. Saying your sorry just isnt enough.

Excellent/Above and Beyond: Our cats have had excellent care with Dr. Bird and Dr. Christensen. Their professionalism, knowledge and compassion for our animals through the years has been exemplary, whether during common animal health treatments or more complicated procedures, but especially when those tough emotional decisions needed to be made. Recently, both veterinarians, the entire staff and especially Heidi, the office manager, have been a model of patience and helping above and beyond while we tried to negotiate the quagmire of paperwork, timelines, and working with 3 additional agencies ( USDA, German Consulate, United Airlines) to get our childrens 2 cats to them in Germany (military deployment). I never hesitate to recommend McKinleyville Animal Care Center. Thank you for all you do, and do so well!

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I have visited the Animal Care Center several times--primarily for vaccinations and for occasional cortisone shots for one of my cats with flea allergies, but also on one occasion for emergency medical work (a cat with bladder issues). The staff is polite and friendly, and the doctors are always competent and helpful. My cat stayed overnight for his bladder issues, and seems to have been cared for wonderfully during that time. All medications Ive received for them worked just fine. My total for the emergency care even ended up being less than what I was originally quoted, which was certainly a first for me! Id absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone in the area.

Today we had to say a very hard and painful goodbye to our little old Missy dog . She was in so much pain and was suffering from a long illness. It was time to let her go and I so appreciate the support, kindness, simpithy and most of all the loving gentle care they showed in ending her pain and suffering. There just is nothing more they could have done. I will never take my much loved babies any where else. A special thanks to the manager, the girl at the front desk and especially the Doctor and his nurse. God bless and help you in your very special service to our very precious animal family members. THANK YOU SO MUCH !

My cat was constipated and took her there and saw Dr. Bird. She recommended that they manually break up the feces and so I let them do it. My cat looked terrible when I picked her up, covered in poop, they didnt even clean her up. She died that night & when I called in the morning to tell Dr. Bird I had to wait for her to call back. When she finally did before they closed all she said was oh her colon must have ruptured! No sorry your baby died, nothing! I paid almost $400 for all the bills for them to kill my cat. They were too rough with her and caused her to die.

A VERY GOOD VET! Dr. Bird has treated both my dogs for various problems and they have recovered quickly. She has even worked with my budget constraints and been able to achieve good results. Not only that, but my dogs love her. She has a wonderful manner with them, and even my heeler, who is skitsy with some people, is relaxed and comfortable with Dr. Bird. The front desk staff has been friend and helpful, and even been willing deal with some of my unusual requests. Very professional and caring people! I would not take my animals to any other vet.

Been bringing my animals here for 4 yrs. In the last year it seems like the center so busy, I cant even get my dog in to take care a serious fungal problem. Had an appointment at 4pm today. After 40 minutes, I still hadnt been seen. They told me it would probably b another 30 minutes. I had to leave without my shepherd getting help. So disappointed! Please staff, dont over book and maybe, u all nerd a bigger facility. Unfortunately, I have to find help for my dog somewhere else and dont know where to take him.

MAJORLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. i brought my dog in yesterday and was not satisfied with the service. in was seen be Dr. Bird. she was rude and did not listen to my questions. it seemed like she only wanted my money and didnt care about my dog. i was telling her about my dogs back issues and she repeatedly tried to walk out the door between my questions. my dog is still in distress and questions unanswered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!

i stopped in, made a appointment for my dog, arrived on the day of the appointment on time, only to set in the waiting room for over 30 mins without one of the 6 staff members even acknowledging or apologizing to me for the wait..., I LEFT AFTER 30 MINS ....maybe they should hire someone with people skills. i hope the owner gets this message loud and clear, and i will tell all i know...DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!

Our 14 year old dog had finally met her match with kidney failure. Euthanizing a loved pet that has been a part of your family for a long, long time is never an easy decision. Dr Thompson and a staff member came to my home to euthanize our dog in a quiet and caring atmosphere. Its never easy to go through this but its much better to have a caring veternarian help you get through it. Highly recommended.

MACC has a highly skilled staff. I just moved to this area. My new neighbors recommended it. I appreciate how quickly they can fit me in when my dog has a medical problem. They honor their appointment times. I never have to wait long. The friendly employees bonded with us on our very first visit. The personnel is cheerful and full of amazing energy. I would recommend MACC to everyone who love their pets.

AWESOME STAFF! I have bounced around a few different vets in the area, trying to find the right place for my dog, and I found it at the Mckinleyville Animal Care Center. The front staff is great, the doctors are awesome, and my dog gets excited every time we go. I live 20 miles from Mckinleyville, and I am happy to make the drive for the level of service me and my dog get.
