Dr Cleveland is great, one of the best vets I have been to. So if you can exclusively see her, then you will be alright. She, and the vet techs and office ladies are awesome. Which is why I couldnt rate a 1 star. Unfortunately, she isnt always available, and you get one of her colleagues. One co-worker made my chihuahua severely sick by treating him with dip for his mange. He was a puppy, and much too small to use the dip on. Dr. Cleveland luckily corrected her, and put him on an oral med, Ivermectin. Unfortunately I had already spent around $50 dollars on a bottle of dip I would no longer be needing. I am honestly just glad that Lucky survived the dip. It was scary how out of it he was. Another one of her co-workers convinced me my miniature schnauzer had a malignant cancer, which influenced my decision to have a more extensive surgical removal of a small lump. The lump turned out to be benign. I was very upset to the point of changing vets, because I feel money was the motivation, and it not only cost about $600 more than estimated, but caused my dog more pain than was necessary. (15 staples across his whole back, when the growth was no more than an inch wide). The vet in question called me after I had dropped him off for surgery, and said she took a sample of the growth and looked at it under the microscope, and she was pretty sure it was malignant. I of course was very upset, and had to make a tough decision on the spot. I feel like my feelings were manipulated so that I would fork out more money. ( I had previously said I didnt want labs done, and I also didnt want the anesthesia test). I ended up getting the labs, good thing, because it showed that she was very wrong. I also looked up the type of growth on the internet, and it stated that they are almost always benign. ( A pink pearly growth, AKA histiocytoma). I wish I would have researched dog growths before taking him to the vet, but they are the experts, so you trust they have your dogs best interest at heart, and know their stuff.

After our veterinarian of 15 years retired, I tried three other vets before finally settling in at Columbia Veterinary Center. I like everything about the place; the staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is good (coming in from Washougal :), the office is a little rundown, but functional with separate cat and dog entrances, and most importantly, the vets are really good at what they do. Our younger dog has severe problems with anxiety, separation, and hyper-vigilance. For four years weve struggled, and yes, suffered along with her, while pleading for help from each of the three vets we sampled before finding CVC. Each of them essentially disregarded our concerns, telling us our dog just needed more exercise (from the time we got her as a six week old puppy we couldnt walk her on a leash or take her to the beach for example, without her getting completely out of control, whining, howling, barking, jumping. It took four vet techs holding her down, just to trim her nails. Yet the vets assumed we were doing something wrong, rather than believing there was something going on with our dog. We tried puppy obedience class three times--it was a disaster, although she does mind and follow commands very well.) Finally our new vet at CVC took us seriously and really listened to what we were saying; she recommended a medication that has helped our dog immensely. It wasnt an easy decision to medicate her, but finally, we can take her for walks, go to the dog park, and can have people into our home without our dog going nuts. We love our puppy like crazy, but before CVC, our puppy was crazy to live with. :) Now, we get all of her sweetness without her über anxiety. THANK YOU CVC!!! Needless to say, our home is significantly less stressful, thanks to our Forever Vet at CVC.

My furry family (and me) has loved Dr. Cleveland and her amazing staff for twenty years now. From the front office staff to the behind the scenes technicians and doctors everyone is genuinely kind and compassionate. Over the years CVC has taken in a few office kittys that were down on their luck and with the sweet love and and extraordinary nurturing of Dr. Cleveland and her team these precious cats were all given a second chance to live someplace safe and to learn what real love is. In twenty years we have all shared together the happiness of several new furry babies, the anguish of illness and the heartbreak of saying goodbye to my best friends. I have been hugged, comforted and cared for as if we were all family. Please understand, this is more than a vets office. This is a safe haven for two and four legged alike. Everyone that walks through their door is treated special. I feel so fortunate that I found CVC. I highly recommend them.

My husband and I moved ten years ago and began bringing our pets here. Not only do we bring all of our animals here (six dogs and three cats over that time), but so do our family and neighbors; we cant recommend them enough! Our old vet was nice but very expensive. Columbia Veterinary Center is less expensive, provide superior care along with being incredibly patient and kind, addressing all our questions and concerns. They have treated our pets with their arthritis, heart murmurs, kidney failure, pancreatitis, diabetes, blindness and cancer, and have been there to comfort us when it was time to say goodbye. From the front office to the techs to the doctors, the entire staff take the time to visit with our pets and get to know them, along with my entire (human) family. We are grateful for the excellent treatment of our pets and the kindness theyve shown us over the years.

We found our chocolate lab over a year ago and brought her there to look for a microchip and have her checked. They were thorough with Willow (who we first named Mocha) and were very caring! We got her back to good health with their help! The only thing we were unhappy about is that when we wanted to talk with the Vet about surgical removal of a large tumor on her left hock and growths she had on her back just above her tail this Vet said not now and did not want to discuss it. We had been bringing her there several times for continued care that cost about $200-300 each time and we were in good standing paying in full with each visit. It greatly perplexed us so we took Willow to our Vet for our other animals, Companion Pet Clinic removed the growths with success and she is now a very happy, playful dog now with a beautiful coat and loving her new family.

I recently had to bring my cat for emergency care here and the experience was good! They gave me options for treatment levels and treated her appropriately. I did not find the price to be super high, considering they are treating after hours on an emergency basis. They were well organized in my opinion, they even had sent over information about her visit to my primary vet by the time I went to visit the next morning. The waiting room was nice as well, they have a little fire place and magazines and whatnot it feels very "homey" which is comforting at a time when you might be experiencing a pets health crisis! And they have vending machines which was awesome when my son started to get hungry while we were waiting. This is our second experience at an emergency vet and I definitely prefer them over the emergency vet I had gone to before.
