This is a two part review. First I will say I am extremely pleased with Dr. Foran and his staff on the outcome of my knee replacement. I could not ask for better care and results. Just making it thru the anesthesia process was a totally different story. My doctor suggested a spinal block which was new to me. I have experienced nine prior knee and shoulder surgeries and each time it had been thru general anesthesia. The doctor explained the spinal took a lesser toll on the body so I agreed to give it a try. BIG mistake. I was subjected to over a dozen needle injections and my back looked like a pin cushion. My heart rate sank to 38 and blood pressure fell to 60 over 30. I was referred to by the staff as having the skin of an Armadillo! My response was that this Armadillio was going to vomit on the operating table so they picked up a trash can and I threw up right there on the spot. The staff then administered some drug to bring my numbers back to acceptable levels to move forward with the general anesthesia. In the recovery room my knee did not hurt at all but my abdomen and lower back was killing me. I asked my wife to take a look and thats when she snapped the attached picture. The lesson to be learned here is LIMIT the number of attempts to execute a spinal block so the patient is not subjected to this type of experience.

I thought the care was okay. Some nurses were good, others not so nice. I have had 2 surgeries this year for a broken ankle then to get a screw removed. I set up a payment plan which I had told them would create a financial burden on me being a single mom and I have the surgeon and the anesthesia doctor also wanting my $$. I am trying my best but just received a call from their billing department asking me about my balance of $300. Like really? Christmas is 10 days away and they are concerned about $300 when theyve already been paid (overly paid) by my insurance company and me for 2 surgeries. I told the lady on the phone that I rather not have another surgery to get the rest of the screws and plate out if I have to have my surgery there now. I will be sure to let the surgeon know too which of course, Panorama owns some interest in this hospital and that is why they have surgeries there. So if it means being in some pain for the rest of my life over having to pay anything more then the $300 balance I owe them... that is fine with me. Too bad a so-so visit turned out to be so painful over just $300.

I had a left TKR January 2014. Admissions staff were great the morning of surgery. The day nursing staff was great - night nursing staff was lazy bullies. I had told my support person to go home at night and rest while I was in the hospital. When made to do anything the night staff were clear that it was an inconvenience for them. I had an incident when I was vomiting and had to hit the call button the night staff responded with a very snotty, "what do you expect us to do about that?" The night crew never refilled the ice device used for wound care and by morning there was no ice in the icing device only warm water. I was left on the toilet alone for extensive periods of time while I was yelling for help - despite the signs in the bathroom directing that the patient was not to be left alone. Very degrading and demoralizing. Physical therapy only visited me once during the 2 day stay and then for very short period of time. I went to outpatient extensive PT at Panoramas facility in Golden. The implant I received is failing and I am facing a replacement surgery.

The billings department was unorganized and unethical even though the care was quality. The billings department was unorganized and unethical. They called me with concerns of what would be paid on the bill monthly. I told them that I had not received a billing statement in a couple of months and that I was attempting to make $50-$100 monthly payments using copies of my previous billing statements. They sent me one more statement then began leaving messages on my answering machine. I sent them a check for $100.00 on September 16, 2011. They did not cash it until October 19, 2011. After cashing this they immediately turned me into a collection agency. Funny thing is, the bill they are asking me to pay is over $600 less than what I actually owe them. What is more, they turned me into a credit bureau for a bill of $321.20 when I was making $100.00 monthly payments. You can get the same quality care (possibly even better) at other hospitals in the Lakewood Colorado area with much better, more ethical business practices.

OK, no one likes to have surgery, but if you have to have it, do it here. I had two knee surgeries here in 2013 and have never had better care in a hospital. The nurses were really great as well as super attentive, the physical therapy facility was helpful, I had a massage every day from the in-house massage therapist, and the food was excellent. I know there are some terrible reviews, but I had a very good experience. The nursing supervisors came to my room and asked if I had any suggestions for improvement. I was astonished at the level of care, from the wild salmon with tomato chutney for dinner, to the friendly and caring nurses and respiratory therapists. My surgeon was great and I am recovering quickly.

My mom came in for a total hip replacement in June 2015, and we were very pleased with the level of care that we received from the very moment that we walked in the door. The front desk staff was very kind and welcoming, patient finance was very helpful and informative with regards to payment. The nursing staff and physicians are all very kind, gentle, and full of personality which was a huge help in making sure that my mom was comfortable and well informed both before and after her surgery. I would highly recommend this group to anyone. As someone who works in the healthcare field, it’s so nice to see that patient care and comfort are of top priority to this group.

After a patella-femoral (knee-cap) replacement I was denied anesthesia for over 7 hours the following day. Colorado Medical Board had to force medical records to be turned over after four written requests. Records showed a pain level of 7 or higher for the duration of day 2. I was deliberately tortured by a PA, who was subsequently fired. That this could happen in a modern hospital is unconscionable. Records also show that they were taking Norco, (Percocet) out of the pharmacy in my name, and giving me Tylenol instead. Their response to the event was an unethical denial and cover-up. I wouldnt send a dying stray dog to this place.

I had the best care I ever received from any Hospital. I had Lumbar spinal surgery by Dr. Drewek. The day of my surgery I was in a room and it seemed like so many of the staff were coming in to meet me. They all told me their names and what their duties were. I made sure to tell them my name too. Your nursing staff and Certified Nurses Assistants are incredible. I wish I could remember all of their names. I only remember 2 names - Anne (nurse that put on the preview presentation and the other was a night nurse, Jill. I thought the entire staff were terrific.
