Questionable ethics here!! They convinced me I needed gum grafts when I did not. The periodontist was quite charming until I told him I didnt have any money to pay for the procedure; then his smile quickly disappeared. While other dentists had noted my receding gums, this was the only clinic where someone suggested gum grafts. Their motive is quite clear: they wanted my money. In fact, they fraudulently billed my insurance so that the exam by the periodontist would be paid for. (My insurance does not cover periodontal exams, so they billed for something else.) After the initial conversation about gum grafts, I went back for some routine work and they brought the subject up again. I told them I wanted to get a second opinion and they acted worried. Well, no wonder! Im so glad I eventually went to a different clinic for an emergency; the dentist I saw there told me, "No, you dont need gum grafts". She said that no periodontist would be willing to carry out the procedure. (However, a greedy individual will set aside ethical concerns.) I fretted over this for a couple of years! I spent a significant amount of time researching supplemental insurance plans, because I thought my teeth would fall out if I didnt have the procedure done. I sincerely hope my review will help others who could easily be taken by these greedy, so-called professionals.

Do Not Go Here. First of all I am a busy, working mother of 2. My time is valuable and B.S is not. I made an appointment here and instead of getting all my info the first time, they call days later and want the rest. Im busy and they call on a break. Im unable to be available at all hours. Anyway noonday of my appointment I call with my card in hand for any info they need. Did that work? Heck No! The woman on the other line doesnt even know what she needs to ask me. I tell her i can give her all my card info right then and there and I also had to leave soon. She asks questions that she isnt sure about and says "Wait" puts me on hold then obviously I cannot stay. Now, on my way to the appointment Im driving there, I call. Does anyone answer the phone? Of course not! I was the first caller in cue! By the time I get in there no customer is at the front desk and there are 3 people. Their reason for not answering? Call center downstairs. What were they doing to not answer the phone? Im waiting as time passes mind you, Ive driven 40 minutes to get there. Time completely wasted. My daughter has Karate. I had to walk out. All this could have been avoided if they got all my info the first time. I could have picked up my other child had they not wasted ALL of my time.

More like zero stars. A new patient here and already understanding why this place does not even have a 4/5. In need of removing my wisdom teeth and had to see a specialist first. The receptionist told me on the phone, "You have to be on time as this doctor is very busy." Went to my appt today at 11am early. 11:15am and let front desk know Ive been waiting for a while and had another appt to go to also. She said, "Sorry, just a couple more minutes. Running slow today." Right when I sat down, another women went to the front desk to also complain about waiting for a while. 11:30am comes by and I told front desk to reschedule me, Ive been waiting for 30 whole minutes. She had the audacity to ask if I could wait another 15 minutes!!! I DID NOT MAKE AN APPT TO WAIT 45 MINUTES FOR A SCHEDULED APPT. Left this place so fast. This wasnt the first time I had to wait for an appt. Mind you this, Im a very patient person. This place is so unprofessional. You make an appt to be seen at that time, NOT wait for 45 minutes to be seen. This place is horrible. Looking for new alternatives.

In the beginning it was really hard for me to get to this location due to transportation problems. Because of that I was forced to reschedule a few times. After going a few times I knew this was the place for me and one lady said that because you have recheduled so many times we wont be able to see you. I prayed and asked to speak with the manager Melissa. After explaining my situation, that I lived a hour away in Red Wing, and had car problems, I asked for one more chance. Yeah me she granted my request. So again Melissa came to the rescue after multiple visits getting fitted for a partial, the state changed my insurance. I found out the week before my trip to Jamaica. Melissa worked diligently with my new carrier and got it approved just in time. God is faithful to put his angels where we need them. Im so Blessed to have a Angel named Melissa at the Dental Associates of St.Paul. If you have any doubts about going there shame on you.

The hygienist, Angel, was great. The dentist, Dr. Duenes, was terrible. She did not ask me any questions about my teeth or the issues I had mentioned. When i tried to ask her questions as she was leaving I got quick answers that made no sense. She told me she couldnt tell me why I was having problems with my crown because she wasnt the one who put it in. What??? Thats absolutely ridiculous. If shed spent any time listening to my questions and actually looking at the tooth I believe she could have helped me. She did none of that. She also recommended doing a large filling on a back cracked molar that another (more professional) dentist had already taken the time to explain to me would not hold up. Dr. Duenes recommended this procedure anyway because my insurance covered it. Pretty sketchy. Her beside manner was awful. It was clear she didnt care about patient satisfaction. Definitely wont be going back.

No issues with insurance or scheduling. However my complaint is with the mediocre service. They do not have enough staff to cover patient load even on Saturdays (when I went in). The hygienist cleaned my teeth too fast in a way that she nabbed my gums in the back of my mouth with the polishing tool. I understand that removing plaque with the scraper can cause pain because they are trying to prevent gingivitis, but nicking me with her tool like that for the polishing step showed how hurried and careless she was. The main dentist just trusted her associate that my teeth "looked good". This tells me that they must have been busy, which is understandable, but they should be more customer focused and not overload their schedule.

NOT WORTH IT!!! I waited over 4 months to have someone see my daughter about her cavities. Spoke with a recptionist who told me that they had to reschedule her appointment FOUR TIMES because "the docotor doesnt want to see her!" Spoke with the manager and still nothing but the excuse of "she doesnt speak English well and tries to get people off the phone when she does not know what to say." Here I am 8 months later and still have not had the cavities taken care of!!!! No other dentist will finish what they started because they cannot get reimbursed from the insurance company!!! I will never deal with this company again!! Worst experience in the heathcare field ever!
