I am writing this to sincerely warn anyone who is considering Lifepoint Dental in Ankeny to reconsider or at least use more discernment than I. I went in for a routine dentist check up without any complaints or pain of any kind. I was told that I need to extract one wisdom tooth and that I had fractured my tooth by grinding and have some cavities along the fracture line that need to be repaired. After the dentist appointment I started to feel extreme discomfort that I hadnt experienced right before which persisted (more than normal after dentist appointment) which I thought was strange. After I made an appointment for the work to be done, I received a call explaining that they have me down for the removal of two wisdom teeth. I should have run for the hills but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, people make mistakes. When I arrived at my appointment and was in the dentist chair, I was told that the dentist I saw prior would not be the one working on my teeth but rather a new dentist who I had never met or knew nothing about, thanks! I also had to remind them that I would need a mouth guard because I have a fractured tooth from grinding my teeth. The dentist decided that we should fit my mouth guard after the fillings and extraction when I was numb thus the hygienist had to hold my mouth guard on and did so crooked, thanks! Following my work, I have never been in so much pain, I havent taken pain killers in years yet am taking three ibuprofen and a prescription pain killer just to make it through the day, I started blacking out on several occasions when I didnt take my pain killers in time. I went in to get it fixed and was told that my filling had a ledge in it and would need to be redone, thanks. After several days, I returned because I was still in lots of pain, to this the dentist said that God, everything looks good, but we forgot to save your x-rays of your teeth, thanks. Oh and lets wait a week before calling me for another appointment, real professional. Dont let the nicely decorated office fool you, after lots of work and hassle (I have four kids to find childcare for each time), not to mention money, I am still popping pills and much worse off than I was before the dentist.

Out of all of the dentist offices I have been to, this one is by far the worst. Looks can be deceiving. It looks nice from the outside, is decorated nicely. Then you meet the Dentist. I have never seen her smile. She has always been distant. My appointments have been canceled. With the excuse that the Doctor had something come up and will not be in that day. It is not only the Doctor that is rude... Kate the receptionist, was always snappy with me. I have never left a dentist office feeling like I just got beat down, they are rude and do not work with the patient at all.

Worst dentist office I have been to in a long time ... The dentist never even came in when I got my teeth cleaned for a year there ... The hygenist or whatever she was told me that my teeth were going to fall out but didnt really let me ask any questions about what was going on .... I will never go back here ever again worst dental care in the world ....

Staff very friendly and a very calm atmosphere when you walk in. I didnt have the feeling of "move em in...move em out or that they were only interested in my wallet. Was great to see actual pictures of my teeth and not just xrays so that I knew exactly what they were talking about. Would highly recommend them.

Worst dental experience of my life. They gave me a crown and then a root canal on the WRONG tooth and then still wanted me to pay for the correct tooth. There were several things that went wrong throughout this entire 1 year experience, and now Im in more pain than the small problem that started the process.

This dentist office and staff are a bunch of idiots. None of them know what is going on at any point of your visit. My child went for fillings, was numbed, and then only had sealants done. No cavities filled. Finding a new dentist pronto with a friendlier staff and people who know what they are doing

Always a friendly receptionist, with a smile. You usually dont have to sit for very long in the waiting area. Everyone that works theyre will usually smile. Your in and out quickly, with a happy result. I would highly recommend Life Point Dental. Thank you to all the staff for being you.
