The complaint is with the nurses that handled me for this issue. I have chronic back pain. About a week ago I ran out of my prescription anti inflammatory Celebrex. Before I ran out, through the pharmacy I requested a refill to be sent to the doctor I heard nothing for 3-4 days. So at that point I called in the request. Still heard nothing. I then sent in a request through the app. I saw my care provider was away but was hoping that someone noticed the urgency. I called again today and asked to speak with the nurse, Cathy. I first was corrected on when I first requested the medication saying it came in on the 31st. That was not the first attempt, as if it mattered...still 6 days ago. Cathy said that the on call doctor did not feel comfortable approving it. Not comfortable?? Its an anti inflammatory! Not an opiate! Or even a painkiller. At what point were they even going to correspond with me is a wonder. I said can you just make sure its filled today (my care provider was back), because Im in a lot of pain. She then says, "do you not take it every day? Because last time you filled it was January." I said I had some left over from long ago but now I take it daily. She goes from when?. Not understanding her method of questioning, I said, "I dont know the answer to your question". Nice to be treated like a druggie because I dont fill a script often enough. Its this one simple thing that infuriates me. Ive been profiled. I have no history of drug use, smoking or drinking, and I barely drink coffee. Yet they callously declined my medication for chronic pain so I can function as a wife and mother of 3 young children. What bothers me more is the lack of patient respect, communication and lack of empathy while Kathy my provider was gone. Honestly if it wasnt for Kathy Kauffman being so amazing I would be done with this place in a heart beat.

This office is having serious troubles. They lose messages; they do not call back; and do not try to resolve issues (I have made multiple attempts to resolve issue with the practice manager.) They really do not like when you ask questions. Latest example: I had a simple question regarding who could write a script to a controlled medication...I got an answer after no less than 30 minutes on hold....(I asked if the NP could write the prescription, because, if no, we would reschedule with an MD who could). We ended up keeping the appointment with the NP in question. At the appointment, we had a long discussion about how we wanted to see an MD instead of him. He refused to prepare for the visit and read all the test information we had brought from the referring professional, because we wanted to see an MD. Now, everytime I contact the office I hear about how I prefer to see an MD over the Nurse practitioner. Even when asking for something as straightforward as a prescription refill. Second example - They do not provide follow up instructions to the patient. At first I thought that my friend just had a bad memory, but then it happened to me too. I do not recommend these folks, particularly the NPs. I have had good experience with Dr. Amy Miller and Cynthia Mitchell- but why deal with the office and all the hassle if you do not need to?

This has been my PCP location since I was a young kid. I had a pretty standard, satisfying experience during each visit with the Dr. I had seen exclusively until I became a young adult and felt I had no option but to switch to another doctor here. It was clear after my doctor was informed of my first time going to rehab for heroin addiction, that I was being treated differently. I couldnt go to an appointment and be taken seriously anymore. Chronic, physical health issues of mine were ignored and I was even refused prescriptions for things that were not in any way, shape of form a controlled substance or able to be abused. I am not a confrontational person and have severe anxiety, so I didnt know what else to do but suck it up, and simply ask to see someone else. Things are still incredibly uncomfortable and unhelpfull. Now when I need to go to the doctor, I put it off as long as possible and spend a large amount at Patient First. I really dont have a solution. :/

I have had great experiences with the entire staff at the LVPG Office. My husband and I have both been seeing g Sharon Smith CRNP for at least 15 yes, in fact when she changed practice location we were given the Opportunity to stay at the old practice or follow her to the new one, we choose to follow her even though the new practice is about twice the distance then the old location we feel we get our best care with Sharon Smith CRNP. Also Nurse Leah has been wonderful as well. If you take the time to sign up for MYLVHN PORTAL it is so quick and easy to communicate with your health care Team its The Best intervention LVHN has ever put into motion!! We have found this office staff to be friendly and helpful in a timely manner. THANK YOU for your great care, its why we keeping coming back!!!

Ive been going here for years but after today I wont be stepping foot back in this office. Ive had quite a few recent cancellations due to a family issue. I had an appointment today and got a call about 30 min beforehand from a nurse saying my physician, Kathy Kauffman, would not allow her to give me my birth control shot (which I need due to a health issue) until I made an appointment and saw my physician to speak about an issue I am not even having anymore. Instead of calling and asking for an explanation, which is completely reasonable, I was judged and I cannot get the dose of my birth control that I need. I will not only be leaving this office, I refuse to deal with LVHN at all anymore. This was the last straw for me.
