Very long story shorter, PP just sent me a bill in the mail about to go to collections saying I still owed them $132. This is from several bills that finally made it to me after almost a year of processing. Every time Id go in the center and ask if I had a balance to pay, they would tell me no and to just wait for the bill. When I finally received my giant bill, I freaked out because my insurance wasn’t covering what I thought. The beginning of this year, I had a letter of medical necessity sent to my insurance so they would cover what I needed, and they in turn sent new payments to PP, these payments supposedly would cover my remaining balance. The insurance lady said that with what Id already paid and what the insurance had paid, PP should owe me $5 but here I am about to be sent to collection for $132. Since I cant ever get anyone from the billing department on the phone, or get any voicemails that Ive ever left returned, I went to the Gladstone center to get a printout so I could compare the charges and payments myself, more than likely just pay the $132 so I could be done with this. But apparently you need an appointment to find out what you owe/pay your bill. After waiting behind a girl being checked in for 10 mins, I got up there and gave a quick summary of my situation, and the manager, April, told me to have a seat and shed help me in a few minutes because they had to get those with appointments checked in. Their AC is out, so Im baking for about 25 minutes quietly, waiting for the manager to come out from the back. She finally comes back out to help assist the trainee checking in a lady who got there later than I did, and so when she isnt assisting her anymore, I walk up and ask if shes able to assist me yet. April gives me the same speech about having to check in people with appointments and to have a seat and shell be with me in a few minutes. As I’m hot from sitting down, and I dont really believe her at this point, Im standing there kind of in disbelief and so she looks me up and down and presents a pose thats meant to be intimidating to try to get me to have a seat. I get that they want privacy for who they are checking in, but I was able to hear all the information behind the first girl when I got there, and to be honest, I could hear the information of the girl they were currently checking in from my seat so I was confused but also angry as to why she felt she had to “check” me with a fight stance to make me sit down. Since she was trying to bully me and had absolutely no interest in helping me to settle my bill, I obviously leave and try to call someone over the phone. The person I get the first time transfers me to the Gladstone center manager, April, who I hadnt known was the manager at the time. When I realized who I was transferred to, I asked for her to clarify her name, to which she rudely replied I gave you my name at the beginning and wouldn’t tell me again. But I remembered April. That was the name on the voicemail Id left a message for weeks prior that never got returned. Then when I asked to be transferred to her supervisor, she wouldn’t and was trying to direct me on another wild goose chase toward the admin department instead, so instead I asked for her supervisors name, and she just hung up on me. Calling back again, this time I called the Overland Park number hoping to get someone on the corporate side that might care how a MANAGER was treating the people she’s supposedly there to help. I left a message with someone in HR and am still waiting on a response back. This is the most frustrating experience I’ve ever had in customer service, definitely the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to follow up with a negative review/calling to complain about an individual. But I just never could’ve imagined this level of neglect, apathy and non-existent customer service from a medical institution.

I love the doctor here, Mary Jo. Shes sweet, to the point and makes you feel super comfortable about whatever it is you are seeing her for. Lately, within the past year, two or three of the last receptionists have been completely rude. My last visit, the receptionist was late from her lunch (15 minutes) causing my appointment to run late (which I had taken off of work early for). She was obviously in a horrible mood and it followed her into the clinic. I really dont even want to go back to this location because of their service. Its as if they dont "need" your business anyway so they feel like they can treat you any way they want. I usually have easy going visits here but this PPH needs to find front desk people that actually WANT to be there, or at least act like it. Upon leaving, this particular lady informed me that "we ask for a donation, so nothing is free anyway." And after asking if there was a receipt, "YEAH, when it prints out". Needless to say, I left with a bad taste in my mouth and hope they get better employees. Otherwise, I appreciate all PPH does.

This planned parenthood by far is one of the best doctors offices, let alone planned parenthoods I have ever been to. The rooms and lobby are stylish and new and clean. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctors are the nicest, sweetest, most informative and caring people. They get to know you on a first name basis and they make you feel cared for and important. I switched birth controls and get exams here and they make it so easy and painless. The nurses are sweet and smart and fast. The doctors Ive seen have been super understanding and for whatever reason I come in, they explain everything clearly and thoroughly. I would recommend this location over any of the others. If you have a daughter (or son) who is nervous or anxious about birth control or exams I would take them here for their patience, knowledge and caring nature. Definitely 5 stars!!

The front desk is such a racist. She pretended that she didnt understand what I was talking about. She was trying to play with me and make me pay 200 dollars even though I have my insurance. And she started a fight in front of other patients and customers. Worst experience ever. Ive never been treated like this. I dont even want to go back to talk to my doctor because I am afraid shes gonna attack me.

They were trying to charge me $200 from the start just because Im a new patient. I could go somewhere and pay $50 and it be a much nicer place that includes everything I need just so I can get birth control. Go somewhere else to save money. Plus all the nurses in the back room kept giving me dirty looks when I was talking to the receptionist. Not very acceptable in my opinion.

I went to an appointment here with my girlfriend and she had a really good experience. She loved the nurse she had there and the rest of the staff was really nice to me while I was in the waiting room. And they were okay with the fact that we dont have insurance. They let us pay a little bit that day and then make payments, which helped us a ton. Overall good clinic.
