Let me explain our story of "Baby." She was a Blue & Gold Macaw about 14 years old and a dear family member since her hatching. Our experience on Jan. 3rd 2015 is as follows: "Despite the loss of our loving companion and family member, Baby Bird, I wish to thank all the staff for their diligent efforts in trying to save her life. I called frantically without an appointment to several aviary vets, no one could fit her in for various reasons. Upon calling Sawyer Vet Clinic and telling them of Babys condition, they realized her condition was critical and even though they were solidly booked insisted they could help and that i bring her in immediately. Upon the exam they carefully reviewed her condition and explained everything to me in words that i could understand, and what steps would be best. Dr. Fergusons assistant presented all the options to me along with prices up front and their worries. The doctor then prioritized the most critical steps. The assistant and Dr. Ferguson were very gentle with handling her, Baby was very comfortable with them even though she usually withdraws from strangers. After i agreed with the care and the procedure, they immediately began the process to save her life, although despite their best efforts it was time for baby to fly to heaven to sit on gods shoulder. We were immediately notified of her passing in a very gentle and tasteful manner. We opted to bring Baby home, upon our arrival the entire staff felt our sorrow and was very sympathetic. Dr. Ferguson and her staff were very patient and genuinely caring. Assisting us with our grieving and sorrow. They listened to our stories remembering the good times we shared with Baby. They never made us feel unwelcome, like they were babies family too, they even shared their stories of the short time they had shared with Baby. Their honesty was greatly appreciated, they informed me that they were not able to complete the procedure, then refunded me promptly. We were also presented with a claw print in a clay shaped heart followed by a beautiful card, personally signed by the entire staff. We will turn these into a plaque in remembrance and celebration of the time we cherished with our loving family member, friend, and companion. We are so grateful you were their for us and thank all of you for what you did." Sincerely. Babies Family I recommend any one that wants to go to a vet that treats their patients how everyone of us should be treated

Yesterday August 16, 2010 10:30am I took my 25 year old cat in yes 25 to be put down due to the fact she was attacked by a raccoon she couldnt walk and was lethargic, I was told she would have to be evaluated before they even considered put her down, so the vet Tech Im assuming shaved the site and we found 2 puncture marks 1 was infected and several superficial marks they Gave her Warm IV, Antibiotic shot, and some to take home to give her 2 times a day, morphine for pain the cat showed no signs of being in pain and an x-ray, and charged me $265.05 they sent her home the same day told me to keep her warm which I did warmed towels up in the dryer placed warm water bottles around her gave her some warm milk and water mixture warmed up her food ,that in a few days she would come around ,they called a few hours later to see how she was we told her she wasnt doing well they said it would take at least 24 hours for the antibiotics to take effect and to take her to the after hours hospital, well none the less she didnt make it threw the night she passed away at 11PM, the cat is 25 for god sakes I could have saved the money and just waited to have her pass away at home, but I was trying to be a responsible owner and chose to take her to a vet and have the suffering ended and I was refused that option and told to just take her home and suffer anyways.not a good vet to just send a cat home to suffer like this. she should have let me have the option to have her put down but I was refused, talk about animal cruelty this vet is cruel if not heartless, I am a dog groomer in the area and will not even give my customers the option of going to this vet I will refer them to any other then this one Dr.White doesnt take into consideration age, money, and or the animals well being . they are in it for the Oh mighty dollar and not for the care and respect of your animal if you love your Pet DO NOT TAKE IT TO LAKE SAWYER VET!!!!

I have been taking my zoo to Dr. White for about 14 years and she is a no-nonsense type of doctor. If you want it sugarcoated, go somewhere else! I see complaints about testing for Bartonella, but I have to tell you, she has save me hundreds (if not thousands) in vet bills because she tested for this first! It mimics many illnesses. I have 5 cats, and I couldnt figure out why my 2 of my cats were losing weight and one smelled like she had a bladder infection. Wrong on all counts! One vet visit, one test and one antibiotic for each cat...all had it! Two had stage 4 and one had it so bad he should technically have been dead! Cats get this from fleas and although I have never had fleas, my neighbors cats did and he fought with one of my cats...thats all it took! All my cats are in great shape now and no more smelly urine, weight loss, fighting, etc. because they all feel better. Dr. White is there for the health of the animal, NOT to coddle their parent. If you want it straight, youll get it straight. If you cant take it this way, I suggest you go somewhere else. If you want to do whats best for your animal, put on your big girl panties" or "big boy undies." The doc is going to tell you if you should have brought your animal in sooner, you will be told this...and you should. If you have financial troubles, they WILL work with you because they do whats best for your animals...remember its NOT all about you.

I highly recommend this Veterinary Hospital for many reasons. We recently had a very sick 9yr old cat who literally was given a 2% chance of surviving renal failure which came on suddenly. I called around to several places and decided to try Sawyer Lake Vet Hosp. I was immediately impressed with the Doctors and staff. On top of being cautiously optimistic, they were concerned, caring and sincere. Dr. Jan White and Dr. Meg Lainson made sure we knew every available option so we could make an educated decision. After a stay at the hospital, our kitty came home. The amazing staff walked us through exactly what wed need to do daily to give her as much of a chance of survival as possible and were readily available for us if we had any questions or issues giving her the required meds at home. Our kitty has been gradually getting better, is gaining weight and is currently acting like a kitten! (much to the dogs dismay) We are so grateful to Sawyer Lake Veterinary Hospital, Dr. White, Dr. Lainson and the entire staff. Our pets are family members so we simply cant thank them enough.
