A couple months ago, I came in with a sprained ankle. After waiting for 45 minutes in the waiting room, I was finally admitted into a separate room where I waited for an additional 20 minutes before a lady came in and asked what the problem was...as if I never wrote it down on the piece of paper I was given when I first arrived.
After explaining what happened that morning which lead me there, the lady left only to have me waiting in that same room for an additional 10 minutes -- before two men came in and guided me to another room where the X-ray took place.
After taking the X-ray, I was taken back to the room I was in prior to the X-ray, and sat beside my mother for almost two hours. Finally, thinking that everyone forgot about us, my mother coughed loudly until the same lady that asked me what the problem was came in -- only to let us know that my X-ray was still being looked at. 15-ish minutes later, both of the men that took my X-ray walked in with a pair of crutches and told me that it was just a sprain and that there were no fractures. That would have been great news to hear --- if it had not taken so freaking long to come to that conclusion! Other than how to use my crutches (was not given a hint of when I should stop using them), I was given a piece of paper and no verbal instructions (ice, compression, pain medication...etc). A week later, my ankle started to swell even more and it was getting more difficult to walk around...but I refused to go back and chose to stay and hoped for the best.
Fast forward to a couple months later, my younger brother came in with a back injury that happened during school. He complained that it badly hurt, and without any glances at the problem area or even a simple X-ray, my younger brother was told that it was nothing and instead was prescribed liquid ibuprofen to purchase at the nearest CVS.
I believe it is safe to say that I will be advising other family members to never visit this unprofessional/unreliable clinic.

Im evaluating this location based on a comparison with a previous, non-Medstar urgent/prompt care site in Virginia. This low rating stems primarily from my interactions with the front desk attendant. The NP and nurse were adequate and are the only reason the overall score is not a one. The woman running the desk today was absolutely worthless. She struggled mightily with data entry, requiring repeat spellings or read-backs of telephone numbers. She was unable to identify my insurance account (a major insurer, offered through work, and found without issue elsewhere), possibly because she still managed to enter the information incorrectly (I couldnt be sure . . . she seemed to call it in, in Spanish?). When signing in, she told me (not asked) that I stand in front of her to complete two forms before "allowing" me to sit and complete the final three. Her coup de grace was in assigning the scripts. She not only failed to note where they had been assigned anywhere on the discharge papers, but after I called back - the second time - to advise her that the pharmacy to which she had sent the scripts was closed, she told me to find a place myself and then call her back. That is the WRONG ANSWER. The correct answer is: "Let me look into it for you and get back with you". Youre saying its the patients responsibility? Well, I guess thats ok considering the place was busy. Oh no, it wasnt. There was exactly one other patient overlapping with me. And now I know why.

This was our third visit, this time for my wife suffering from apparent poison ivy contact not relieved by ordinary hydrocortisone cream. A friend suggested she seek a prescription for prednisone. We arrived at 8:30 AM on a Sunday and were seen within 10 minutes. Clinical care was perfect except for one oversight discussed below. I was invited to be with my wife when she met a physician, who carefully explained options and also told us that English Ivy could have caused my wifes contact dermatitis. That was important since I have not been able to find poison ivy presently on our property, but we do have English Ivy. My wife elected to take prescriptions for prednisone tablets and an enhanced hydrocortisone cream recommended by the physician. The disappointment was that no one suggested follow-up when the discharge report gave my wife’s blood pressure as 169/93, which seemed high to the best of my recollection. When I noted this to the technician-receptionist, he quickly offered to re-do the measurement and asked if we wanted a referral after the blood pressure was confirmed to be high. I thought they were going to refer my wife to a specialist, but they simply gave her a referral to a new primary care provider, even though we had told them on the intake form that she already had a PCP, in the MedStar network for that matter. So, they wasted 10 minutes of our time and theirs because they did not read the intake form before suggesting referral.

The wait time is so excessive. Made an appointment online at 10 AM for 6:30 PM. I arrived at 6:15 PM with one person in queue ahead of me. Waiting 45 minutes before the nurse conducted the triage. Interestingly, she participated in a personal discussion with the Front Desk for about 10 minutes before calling me back. While being walked to the back, I observed more staff including doctors just engaging in personal conversions. I knew then it would be an additional 15 minutes and I was spot. Sadly, the doctor didnt even read the documents about why I came in which is a bit scary. No chart in hand with my vitals or anything. I guess the reviews are warranted.

Came in to do a strep test for my daughter, was seen after about 10 min with no one else around. After a nurse did the strep test, waited in a doctors room for 20 min until I came out and asked for a doctor. After 2 weeks I called them back for results (didnt get a call back, never received anything in the mail). Asked a receptionist to mail me the results for my records(she sounded very surprised). Its been a few weeks and still nothing... They werent so prompt in providing the service but they were prompt in charging my credit card...

We waited for 1 hour and 30 mins and never saw the doctor. Prompt Care only in name and not service. We arrived at 6:30 and had all the paper worked fill out already. I printed it online. The receptionist still has to enter all the info before you are added to the waiting list. This too 45 mins and then my co-pay was taken. Waited some more to see what was wrong with us. Waited some more so we can get height and weight taken. We got the "youre next" line 3 times. At 8:00pm I decided to take my kids home. WE NEVER SAW THE DOCTOR!
