I usually dont complain about experiences, but I have after what I experienced. I have only been there once, but my family had gone there before and their hours were convenient. The wait was short and the Dr. was nice, but the results were that I ended up in the emergency room 24 hours later because I was misdiagnosed. I told her that my throat had been swollen for a week and I thought I was getting dehydrated from not being able to eat or drink for a week. I told her when I swallowed water, some of it would go in my nose and cause me to choke. Her response was a giggle. She didnt address the swelling or immense pain that I was in. When she looked at my thoat, she said "ouch". I was given antibiotics and went home. I had a terrible night because of the pain and in the morning I called around 9:40 to ask for pain medication. I spoke to the nurse and they said that they would forward the request to a doctor and someone would call me back. I called back about 2 hours later to find out if someone would call in a prescription for me. They said it could take as long as one shift to have a doctor look at my request! For pain medication! Then they kept saying that I need to go to the emergency room because they were concerned that I could be dehydrated. I said, I was just there and the doctor didnt seem that concerned about it. I said, if I could have pain medication and if they swelling would go down, then I could drink. They said that I would have to wait for a doctor to respond. After calling 4 more times, finally I spoke with someone. I said I have been waiting 6 hours now for a response on whether or not a doctor will even call in a prescription for pain medication. After that I received a call from a nurse that seem irritated. She said that I hadnt given the medicine enough time to work. Which I knew, but I expressed the amount of pain that I was in and that I needed pain medication. She informed me that they dont give pain medication for sore throats and that pain medication does not work for sore throats. I thought that sounded ridiculous, but I asked if there was some sort of rinse that I could take to numb my throat. She said that someone would call something in for me. I picked up the presciption, that did not work because it was something that you gargle and my entire throat felt raw. And it only lasted about 10 minutes, as it numbed my tongue and I could feel it wear off. The next evening, I could feel my throat start to swell more and breathing became more difficult. I went to the ER, where they promptly gave me steriods to decrease the swelling and believe it or not - pain medication!! And a prescription for pain medication to go home with, and guess what, the pain medication actually works for a sore throat. Who would have guessed? They also said, just by looking at my throat that what I had was viral, not bacterial, so the antibiotics I was given are useless. So, after all that. I am feeling MUCH better. I can drink with MUCH less pain and all no thanks to Patient First. I wasted my time, gas money, co-pay, and money on 2 prescriptions that are now useless to me. I wont be going back.

Ok, the first thing Id like to say is that I didnt always feel badly about this place. At first they seemed great. With the short wait, quick service, kind people, and proper diagnosis I was just fine. Then it got bad. QUICKLY!! First, they miss billed me for another patient, and told me I owed them money for someone I didnt even know. Which was then drawn out into several debates, with several people... they eventually fixed the problem, but none the less that was a pain. A receptionist there, oh my gosh... she is as rude as she can be & her name is Darcia. WE had it out once, and she tried to tell me all about how I am unhappy with my life & what not. I just walked away. I mean I was there because I was sick, & didnt feel like it was appropriate for me to be arguing with her. I asked for a manager, or supervisor & all she could tell me was no one was there & I would have to call in the morning. I didnt follow through because I didnt want to waste any more time on it. Most recently I brought my daughter in to be seen for a cough that shed had for a few weeks. I got there about 9:45 pm, and was quickly brought back to room after billing & triage. My daughter needed to use the restroom, so we went straight back. The bathroom was DISGUSTING there was paper everywhere!!! Feces on the back of the toilet!!! I was not going to have my daughter use those facilities, so I asked a nurse for assistance. She told me to take my daughter to the men’s bathroom, and I was floored. My daughter insisted that she couldnt wait any longer, so I had no choice. It was better than the women, but not by much. There was no soap, no trash can, no tp.... I went back to ask the same nurse, and she pointed at the bottle of soap sitting on the water fountain & said use that!! How was I supposed to know what it was!! We walked back to her room, and the staff was looking at a video on someone’s cell phone! I mean the Doctors, nurses, receptionists, and whoever else wanted to join was looking at the video!!! The doctor came in, and checked my baby girl & said she was fine. That absolutely nothing was wrong with her & I insisted on saying are you sure? I mean she’s been ill for almost 2 weeks now, and she told me that she couldnt hear anything in my baby’s lungs, and that everything else sounded clear. I said ok, and we were discharged. I was walking out, and saw the triage nurse sitting on the desk flirting with someone in billing, and on his phone! The next day I decided to follow up at my daughters pediatrician & she told me my daughter had PNEMONIA!!!!! I was so mad!! I will never go there again!

Patient First Waldorf exceeded my expectations. Admittedly, I had lower expectations than my regular doctors office. It was a Sunday and I needed care for both my son and I for a horrible cough. I timed the visit to show up right when they opened, and waited about 15 minutes to be checked in. The registration person will not win a personality contest but was professional. About 10 more minutes later we were called back and weighed in/vitals checked. The nurse was very friendly and chatted with my two preschoolers as they asked questions about all the equipment. We only waited another few minutes to see the doctor. They ordered me a chest xray that was done on sight. I had my kids with me and no other adults, so they had a nurse watch the kids for a few minutes so I could get the xray, and she was wonderful. We were in and out of there, with both my son and I taken care of and prescriptions in hand, in about 90 minutes. Later that evening, they called me at home with more thorough results and further instructions. The next day, I called and spoke to a nurse who was very personable and helpful with my questions. Frankly I have been to many doctors offices in Charles County where I could not get this level of friendly, professional service in this timely of a manner. (My current awesome primary doctor Patel being the exception - he is the MAN).
