NAMI drug pushers junk mail spammers, stop sending my mother newsletters !! When you call things what they are, it’s very clear. NAMI is essentially SPONSORED by DRUG COMPANIES and what’s true in television and radio certainly holds true in large organizations — Never go against the sponsors. It is the one golden rule . It takes a lot of nerve to call your organization a patients’ advocacy group when half to two-thirds of your funding comes from companies that are constantly facing class action lawsuits, federal lawsuits or both for not disclosing adverse findings in clinical trials, lying about known health risks, directly causing death and chemical injury and illegally marketing their most powerful and unpredictable drugs off label. NAMI could hardly be more blatant in aligning their methods with the commercial interests of these companies.

What has NAMI DC have done for people with mental disabilities? Nothing at all. But lying to the IRS and to the DC tax payers. Ms. Jean Harris is a crook she prays on people with mental illness here in the District that really is not a NAMI Chapter and her family meetings are not NAMI model.. She has never been trained under NAMI either

I can not say enough about the DC chapter of NAMI. "It is the cats meow!" Their weekly meetings can not be beat in terms of support and practical ideas to help family members and their loved ones live with mental illness (acute, chronic, and in remission). Thanks for being there. I think about you and recommend you often. Deborah Howes
