Since 70% of my visit was with the hygenist, she is a big factor in my rating. I hadnt been seen by a dentist since 6 yrs ago. Between then&now I had been between jobs at certain times & while working,I sometimes didnt have enough money to pay for food & gas to get to work, much less a dental visit. When I visited this office only the hygenist - Nicole - had a big attitude. She seemed nice until after she evaluated my teeth(which look okay at a glance - I dont smoke&I dont like coffee). Afterward, she began using a semi-disgusted tone of voice & doing this borderline eyerolling at me & "spoke at me" versus speaking with me/discussing things. Youd know what I mean if you had been there. I felt like maybe she viewed me as an irresponsible idiot for my teeth not being as good as they should be. That was probably the most attitude Ive gotten at any dental visit...although I havent had many. The importance of brushing & consequences of not brushing AND flossing were not instilled in me as a kid. My mom never made sure i was brushing properly or asked if I brushed.Dental visits were done once I had pain, not as a "preventive" measure. I was taken to the dentist maybe 5 times total prior to the age of 18.I probably got my first filling around 12 yrs old. I dont know if it was partly due to genetics/weaker teeth (most of my moms teeth were gone by age 40) or simply due to me eating sweets daily (maybe 2 sodas or juices to go with 2 meals & 1-2 snacks per day has been my average sugar intake).Nicole said "ALL of your teeth have fillings in them..all of them have had cavities" which isnt totally true since several around the front dont but the last four teeth of each section do apparently. When she said it,she said it a bit slowly & with a..."you are disgusting" type of a voice. I think she should have considered the fact that many of these are from childhood & Im at the f*^king dental office to get any issues addressed & prevented! My wait time was short: about 5 mins. The facility was very clean & the dental assistant (blonde, I dont remember her name) was polite. I was told that the x-rays & the entire initial visit was Free. One downer was that I was told that my appointment was an "exam & cleaning" yet, NO cleaning (oh and when being scheduled I asked "Is Nicole an actual dentist, because I have been having a little bit of tooth pain" & I was told "Yes."). I didnt complain,I just said "Oh, no cleaning?...Okay". It seems that they are quite booked..I was told my cleaning would be scheduled for the end of June. Regarding Dr. Park, she was wonderful! She was polite&communicated well (and had perfect english, which matters to me because I want to be understood and understand what the doctor is telling me), asked me if I had any questions, & even though she was only with me for about 5 mins, it did not feel "rushed". I did have a bit of pain during the visit from the thing that I had to bite down on several different times for x-rays (the kind of sharp-edged plastic square inside of my mouth, hurt the roof of my mouth when I bit down on the narrw arm connected to the sqaure.I dont know if all dentists still use this method. The "rooms" are partitions/not private. I dont need someone to give me a huge smile & compliments, but I do want to be treated as though Im an equal & have the respect that I give, returned to me.So,Im looking for a different dental office(one with a better feel & takes a certain supplemental discount plan I think I will buy, since my work (crowns put on the fillings) would cost $5k out-of-pocket over my insurance limit of $1.5k. *I have an eu friend who drank 6 cups of coffee per day and had a thick yellow&brown layer of plaque straight across all of his teeth at the gumline for years(& strong bad breath). Yet, his dentist said no cavities (or periodontal disease). Well, he did have sealants, which Ive never had. But no pd?

This is a buyer beware situation. I have had a LOT of work done with Dr. Parks office. But Im writing today because I just got yet another $500 bill from them. Why? I asked since it has been three months since I saw them. They said its because my insurance company (who also reviews the x-rays the provide sends) stated that the work was unnecessary. I would say thats fine, and its good to be pro-active, but I saw my teeth before and after the work was done and they were correct about it being unnecessary at my insurance company. Im so upset because as I explained to the Dr. on multiple occasions, Im not able to pay for something like a $500 bill often. And now they gave me only two weeks to pay this unexpected bill... wow! Jamie Parks office lost two loyal, paying customers today. I dont think they would ever care much about that. This is my previous, good review about Dr. Joobanis excellent capabilities which I formerly gave 4/5 stars to the office for: Dr. Joobani gave me a cap the other day and took extra care to make sure it was comfortable (i.e. taking an x-ray when it was done, then taking extra steps to clear out any extra cement). Ive actually never had to get a cap or cavity adjusted there afterward even though they offer to fix them if I had any pain later. I had another dentist there before who was fine, but Dr. Joobani is so amazingly focused and very intelligent so it really built my trust for her. I am terrified of the dentist because of some bad incidents when I was a kid and they really put me at ease and make sure Im not in pain. Thats really important to me because Im very sensitive to pain. So why four stars and not five? Well, I believe they need to replace their protective glasses they give people during the cleaning with cleaner, fresh ones. Actually they sent me to Dr. Hong over on Chainbridge Road one day (also an amazing doctor) and he had outstanding clean glasses that were disposable or reusable.. it was perfect. If they get those or replace the old glasses I will up this to 5 stars! The rest of the office is really clean and modern which is nice.

Good experience and happy that Theresa and Dr. Yoo still there. However the personnel change way too often for my comfort. Kari left a while ago, but at least Shaun (the insurance expert) was still there. Yesterday I learned she is gone and a very new Erin is handling insurance. While everyone has to be new at some point, interpreting insurance can be challenging but is very important for patients. Ive had varying estimates in the past (I was quoted more than my daughter was for same service with same insurance), but Shaun was able to correct my estimate as the lower amount was correct. Now we appear to have no experience to fall back on. Also, Ive lost count of how many dentists I have seen there since I started going to this practice. Ive even had one recommend a treatment and be gone within a week when I called to schedule it. While Im feel certain that all the associates have the skill sets needed to work there, all seem to have different schools of thought on different situations. I feel like I am starting over every time I see a different dentist. Consistency is very important to me and I suspect other patients. Thus, I wish the personnel didnt change so often.
