Amazon Park Animal clinic over charged us for simple services, lost our medical records, treated us like bad pet owners, and had a negative outlook for our pet. Previous visits to their dimly lit lobby usually scattered with dog hair was frustrating having dogs barking continuously at cats seated on their wall benches (recently upgraded to plastic chairs) without a divider between cat & dog seating. Our story: After being told that our dying cat had a tumor inside her ear & an abscess infection in her mouth & ear (the cat would only have a few months to live or cost thousands to fix)- we had finally brought our aging cat back to Amazon Park Animal clinic to be put to sleep. She was in a lot of pain- continual puss coming from her ear & drooled blood constantly. Anyways- we called & made an appointment to have our cat euthanized ($50.00) with mass burial where they take the remains ($25.00). Upon arrival they inform us that Doctor Jones made no notes of our cat having ANY medical trouble on previous visits and even though we had decided to have our cat euthanized Doctor Jones wanted to look at the cat in the box & see if he thought it was in our best interest to have her euthanized (even though he had said this previously to us). We tell him to have the cat euthanized and take the cat from us and do what he wants with it when we are gone. Promptly- he opens the cat box besides us- inspects the cat for roughly 30 seconds still in the box & closes the box and agrees that euthanizing the cat is in our best interests. Moments later the receptionist hands me a bill for $125.00 which we pay and leave. Looking back on the situation we felt taken advantage of by Amazon Park Animal clinic for charging $50.00 to look in the box in the lobby for 45 seconds after we had asked them to euthanize our cat and be done. In addition Dr. Jones(in the lobby) & the receptionist kept saying they were sure the cat would not need to be euthanized if $1,300 in surgery to the cats ear & mouth were done as a temporary relief to those areas. This made us feel like even worse pet owners because we were having our cat put to sleep and could not afford thousands to fix the cat for another year or so. Now- I use Delta Oaks Vetenirary clinic and have found them much friendlier.

We have been going to Amazon Park Animal Clinic since 2004. I cannot express how amazing they have been to our pets and to us. We had just moved to Eugene when our dog was severly injured. We couldnt get any other vet in the area to see us, even as an emergency. Amazon Park told us we should have just come straight in, we didnt need to call. Everyone was truly compassionate and went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Since then they have performed a few surgeries for us, and even as poor college students we didnt feel like the service has ever been overpriced! Last year we temporarily moved from the area and continued to drive 3 hours to bring our pets here. The reception area and back treatment area have been clean everytime I have been in. I never hesitate to leave my pets in their care, and our dog is never nervous to go back, like he was with other vets we have been to. I have recommended Amazon Park to friends who couldnt find good vets and everytime, they have been happy customers.

We have only seen Dr. Jones, but really like him for our 3 cats. I always learn something from him about cats, he never recommends extra tests or treatments the cats dont need, and hes very kind to the kitties. I trust his advice and appreciate his easy-going, chatty manner. We found prices are about half that of another vet clinic close by. The staff people are friendly and helpful.

My standard poodle has had chronic ear infections for years, and this was the first vet to actually do a swab to find out what kind of infection it was. They are very thorough, and great with my dog, who was especially grumpy from being in pain. I will definitely recommend this vet to others.
