If I could give no stars, I would. If you care about your pet, avoid this vet. Why do so many people recommend them? Because Dr. Tim is very nice and the prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for, or in this case, less. Dr. Tim is blind as a bat, he should have retired years ago. We took my moms dog to him because he was limping. Dr. Tim said he had a splinter or something and it would work itsself out... 2 weeks later, said it was arthritis gave us meds...a month later, went back, he took x-rays and claimed to see a chipped elbow bone (I seen nothing on x-ray), gave us pain meds...they seemed to help for a few months but then he started limping again, took him back and was told that he would have to cut off his leg....I did what I should have done 6 months prior and went to a different vet. The vet took one look at the x-rays and said, let me guess what vet said they seen a chipped bone, "Hoof and Paw"?.. There was NOTHING on the x-rays. The new vet, Four Paws, took their own x-rays and said he appeared to have a tumor, they sent us to STL for an MRI. The STL doctor said that Jack had a tumor on his spine that had been growing. It started in his shoulder but while we were "fake fixing" him with Hoof and Paw, it had grown into his spine and they could not operate. He had to be put to sleep at 2 years old!! The Dr said had we caught it 6 months ago, he could have removed it!......This vet should be put out of business! The sad thing is, I had read some really bad post on Facebook about Dr. Tim misdiagnosing animals that resulted in their deaths and I still took my pets there because it didnt happen to me and the prices were cheap. My cousins cat was actually misdiagnosed with cancer. They operated and nothing was there but a cyst! Please find another vet, the little bit of money you will save there, cant be worth the life of your pet!

I would not take my animal to this place to be euthanized. I went there because my regular vet was closed for the day and my cat was having issues with a potential heart murmor. When I asked the female vet there if she thought the issue had gotten worse she told me my cat did not have a heart murmor. She literally walked in the room took 15 seconds to look over my cat then made her assessment. This would have been fine if she had made the right diagnosis but she was wrong. Weeks later I had my cat at my regular vet, I explained where I took my cat and they double checked. Turns out not only did my cat have a murmor but it got worse. My cat was diagnosed with heart disease and died 4 months later. Could Hoof and Paw stopped this from making a proper diagnosis.. maybe .. maybe not. My concern is if they are this bad confirming a pre-existing condition then what happens when you have a pet that has a hidden problem. If they dont have time for the animals then why are they in business? I will never EVER go to this vet again.

Awful experience. My kitten went in simply to be fixed and declawed and half of his pads came back missing! He was not able to heal from that for months with the proper treatment. He came back covered in his own blood and pee no one even cared to clean him up so all he was worried about when he got home was cleaning up and not healing and resting. Ive had another kitten take this same procedure elsewhere and she was fine after a couple days. No blood and no mess. Before they closed on the day of his procedure I called up there to make sure he was doing okay because they were keeping him over night and she acted annoyed that I even called. In my previous visits to this place, he was just getting vaccinated and I thought it was odd that he came back with bumps under his skin where the needles poked him. I dont think it was sanitary at all.

Have taken my dogs here for over 5 years. As a responsible pet owner, I proactively schedule my appointments well in advance, since I understand that successful vets are often booked solid on their schedules. When my dogs have been ill, the vets tell me what meds to give them, but also offer alternative solutions that have proven to work on my pets --- EX smaller dog had hot spots, and instead of giving her an anti-fungal pill to choke down everyday, he sold me a cheap anti-fungal spray that is typically used on horses/livestock. Hot spots cleared up within days, and I didnt have to worry about my dog puking up pills. Oh yea, and both my dogs love the staff here. Best prices in the Belleville area too!

I started going to Hoof & Paw while I worked at a local pet store. When one of our animals at the store became ill or injured they would squeeze us in. At the time we also worked with another vet in the area but most of the time it was impossible for us to be seen there. When I got my first dog I started going to the other vet and then found out even with the discount they offered us it was cheeper for me to take my dog to Hoof & Paw. I drive all the way from Fairmont City to have my 2 dogs and cat seen there.

Horrible! Never take your pet here. Took my dog there on Monday for a breathing problem he was having. He was in great spirit and acting perfectly fine. The Vet insisted that he had worms so checked for them. The test came back negative for worms. He was unable to diagnose my dog so he insisted on giving him a shot full of steroids. 30 minutes later when I arrived home and open the back door I realized my dog was dying before my eyes. Chocking on his own saliva with his tongue hanging out of his mouth purple.

Dont be mad at a place not accepting new patients. They arent accepting new patients for a reason. Every customer they have is a happy one. My family has used nearly every vet in the area, we love animals and have had many, dogs, cats, iguana, rabbits. Dr. Tim knows what he is doing, he is the best in this area without a doubt and I hope he continues the business for a long time. I wouldnt feel comfortable taking my pets anywhere else.

After spending over $600 at a vet emergency room on several occasions and having my cats misdiagnosed, I was always grateful for the honest no nonsense vets at Hoof & Paw. Yes they are busy- yes calls sometimes go on hold for a while and I have been cut off accidentally, but they take care of their clients. I get a clear understanding of the condition, concerns and prognosis. I trust them implicitly.

I have been a long time patient/customer at Hoof & Paw. I moved away for about 5 years, but have recently moved back. When my new dog was attacked and needed immediate care, they refused me any help because they were not taking new patients and had erased my information. I will NEVER take my animals there again.
