Im not exactly sure how to review this place. So, Ill just tell what happened. Our dog tore his dewclaw pretty badly. We had to go to Peninsula Pet Hospital because our usual vet wasnt open. The receptionist that was working there that evening was condescending to me. Here was her attitude, "You will need to call us after 2PM tomorrow to make sure your dog made it through surgery okay." I was pretty surprised that I would have to call them, I so I wanted to clarify. I asked, "So, I need to call here, no one is going to call us after his surgery?" Her response was, "No... You are going to have to call us. Were going to be really busy tomorrow and no one will have the time to call you. Thats why I just said that you need to call us after 2PM." She had absolutely no sympathy to the fact that I was worried about my dog. The vet tech wasnt much better. She informed me that I should leave my dog there overnight and that they would do his surgery as soon as they could in the morning. My dog has never been in a cage before, and I was pretty worried about leaving him. I asked if anyone would be checking on him overnight. She LAUGHED, and said, "No. Hell be fine!" Hell be fine? In a cage all night, without going to the bathroom, with a torn and bloody dewclaw? When we picked him up the next day, both sides of his snout were red and raw, from him trying to get out of the cage. The staff hadnt even noticed, and said nothing about it. His surgery went fine. The doctor, Dr. Waters, is great. Shes called a few times to check on Jude and was very helpful. She also explained that she was with him until 10PM that evening, so I feel a lot better about that. Overall: great doctor. The rest of the staff should work on their "bedside manner."

Little hospital, but big hearts. I started using Peninsula Pet Hospital after Dr. Tobiassen diagnosed my bulldog with osteosarcoma in late October. At the time, she was still a vet at Chambers Creek but said that she was moving over to Peninsula and offered to anything she could to help us care for Clemmie. I immediately switched Clemmie to Peninsula and i cannot say enough good things about Dr. Tobiassen and her staff. They really treated my dog like she was one of their own, and were very respectful of our decision regarding our treatment plan. When the time came to say goodbye, the staff there was very sympathetic and made the toughest day of my life a little bit more bearable. Dr. Tobiassen and her technician who had spent months treating Clemmie, came to our house to put her down. It was the best, most loving thing that we couldve given to my best friend during her final transition. I am definitely one of those people that my dog is my kid, and losing her was the hardest thing ive done so far. But the entire staff was just so wonderful and supportive which made it easier. When i went to go pick up my dogs remains, Dr. Tobiassen personally gave me the box and had the nicest conversation with me which made me feel immensely better. I cannot say nice enough good things about this place and these doctors, technicians and other staff. If you are looking for a hospital that is going to treat your best friend like a member of their family, this is the place for you!

Update 11/25/2016: Today we had the unfortunate event of having to say goodbye to our beloved dog after 15 long years of love & companionship. It was a very emotional time for our family, but Dr. Tobiassen & the on-duty staff there were very kind, professional and compassionate to our pet and to us. They were very patient and I wouldnt have chosen any other place to say our final goodbyes than here. Thank you to Dr. Waters & Dr. Tobiassen for everything you did for Jadzia. Original review: A few months ago, prior to Dr. Waters leaving, we brought our black lab in to have some surgery done on her foot to remove a tumorous growth. They werent sure if they could get it all and if our pup would be able to have enough skin to heal over the wound. They feared that amputation might be the only option, but were willing to make the attempt to save the leg instead. The doctors gave it a go and surprisingly, Dr. Waters & Tobiassen were able to get what they estimated at around 95% of the growth and surrounding infected tissue. Our dogs leg has healed up remarkably well with no signs of the growth returning! The doctors and the staff have always been very friendly and professional in our dealings with them and theyve treated our pets with love & kindness.

I have taken several pets to Peninsula Pet Hospital. They are always compassionate and understanding. I have also taken two of my dogs there to move on in there existence. While it is always a hard and difficult thing to do, they made us feel comfortable and very respectful of what I was going through. A couple of things I really appreciated was receiving a card signed by the staff acknowledging my loss and expressing their sympathy. The other thing I was impressed with was the billing. While having to put your pet down is not easy you also do not want to be presented with a bill at the time. They waited a few months before they mailed a bill. My grief had dissipated by then and I was happy to pay it. A very professional and caring staff. Thanks.

Peninsula Pet Hospital Doctors and staff were personable, kind and gracious. The care that we received for our dog was all that we could have wanted . Not only did we receive condolences and hugs as we left after we decided to put our girl to sleep but we received followups from the staff to see how we coming along with our grief and was sent a card signed by the staff with seeds to plant in memory of our dog. All along the way they were helpful in answering our questions and recommended various options and provided what I considered to be a very common since and practical solutions until all possibilities were exhausted. I would highly recommend this facility and their staff for the care of your pet or pets.

I took my handsome little boston terrier into Dr. Waters clinic to have a lumpectomy and a dental cleaning. The staff there took such great care of him. I did call and check on him of course after surgery, everything went smoothly and he just got his sutures out a couple days ago. I would highly recommend Peninsula Pet Hospital. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with smiles on there face. Stephanie and Breanna checked us in and made me feel very comfortable about leaving my little man :) I will not be taking my animals to anyone else!

To be completely forthright and honest after just one visitor, Peninsula Pet Hospital is out GO TO place for the care of our three Chows and one cat! After some bad experiences and breed stereotyping, weve reunited with the best Vet weve ever had the pleasure of working with! You cant really teach care and love for your animals, you either have it or you dont and Asta Tobiassen definitely has IT! Id recommend her and this place to all of my friends and even though its over the bridge and a bit out of the way for us, its worth it!
