If you want your simple dental filling to become a root canal, go and see this Dr.... I went to Dr. Whiting half years ago for a dental filling when the old one fell off. First they were about to have an X-ray on that tooth, which I think is necessary. However, they couldnt get the mouse connected to computer work, and skipped the X-ray procedure! Then without much examination, the Dr. got the filling done within 10min(Later I learnt from another dentist that normally the filling has to be done slowly and carefully layer by layer to reduce any possible strain). After the anesthesia went away, my nightmare started. First of all, the surface of the filling wasnt smooth at all especially the edge was much higher, which made it very uncomfortable. More important, I started to feel really painful when biting down on that tooth. It wasnt like sensitive, but real pain (later I knew that is because the nerve was exposed!). Also, food started to accumulate into the edge of filling, which started to give off bad smell after 2 weeks! And the filling fell of in 4 weeks. So I went to the Dr. again. That time I was told that I needed a root canal because the nerve of that tooth was exposed! How can that be? My tooth was totally fine before seeing this Dr! No pain and plenty of enamel! What did he do during the last filling? I was frustrated and scared by knowing that, but he didn’t explain much. In the end, he put another filling on that tooth. Since then, that tooth can’t do anything. No hot food, no cold food, no biting, otherwise there will be huge pain. Not sure how long I can bear under current condition, but definitely, a root canal is unavoidable. This was my first dental experience in the US, and definitely it was horrible.

I was referred to Dr. Whiting by my fiance. i originally went to another dentist for a cleaning and they said that I would need a root canal for my back molar because my filling had fallen out. The $ estimate they gave me for the procedure seemed excessive and the procedure itself seemed excessive. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Whiting because I had heard such good things about him. He was very nice and immediately took a look at the tooth and did another x-ray (since the other dentists x-ray was blurry). Dr. Whiting determined that I would NOT need a root canal and he could remove the remaining filling and put in a new one. They quoted a VERY reasonable price for this procedure (since I dont have insurance) and made me feel very comfortable while putting in the new filling. I highly recommend Dr. Whiting :)

Ive visited Dr.Whiting for every dental Cleaning of my life, hes knowledgeable and efficient. Ive only had one small cavity and he took of that quickly. The staff hygienist Myra is great at her job and fantastic with kids! My five year old was afraid for his cleaning but she put him at ease and he had a great time. The office staff is always smiling, fantastic, and always follows up with the patients.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Whiting for more than 10 years. He is wonderful; very knowledgeable and very nice. In addition, my dental hygienest is equally as wonderful. However, the people he chooses to work the front desk are oftentimes rude and unprofessional. If he wants my 5 stars, he needs to start employing nicer secretaries.
