I began going to Pewee Valley because I needed a vet who would understand the extreme shyness of an Amish Puppymill rescue I had adopted. My boy fell in love with Dr. Ross immediately and there was no turning back. Dr. Ross and Dr. Loster have cared for all my Bernese Mountain Dogs since. Many times they spend an inordinate amount of time trying to determine what is wrong with each of my dogs. My five year old boy think he owns the center, he thinks that the front office staff is supposed to leave their desks and come over and make a big fuss over him...AND THEY DO!!! Dr. Ross and Dr. Loster have shed tears with me when I have lost my dogs...when absolutely everything in their power has been attempted and it time to give them wings. I have recommended Pewee Valley Veterinary Center not only to any new Bernese owner in the Louisville area but to anyone I come in contact who is looking for a new vet or unhappy with the vet they have. I cannot say enough about the dedication, the professionalism, the comfort and the care of not only Drs. Ross and Loster but also of the Vet Techs and Assistants as well as the office staff. They are AWESOME....they rate 12 paws up from my gang!

Why this vets office has 5 stars is beyond me. I love Dr Barnes shes great but thats it.. I took one of my female bulldogs in to be fixed and she got such a nasty infection I had to have her taken back in to be re cut open, cleaned out and stitched back up. Then they go to give her pain meds that almost killed her, after the fact they were like yea that breed is sensitive to that drug. WHY WOULD YOU NOT WARN SOMEONE??? Because they like their money wouldnt even take the other pills back (used 1) so I paid for those as well as the 2nd choice they gave me which should have been given to us first plus lets not talk about the of and fluids that had to be given to fix overdosing my dog. Took my cat in for a kidney stone. $2000 and 2 surgeries later they fixed the problem. She had a negative reaction the the dissolving stiches and again had to be cut back open. Im glad I no longer use this place and will always steer others away from this place. 2 put of 3 of my pets had to have repeat surgeries to fix the first. That should say something

We were recommended this vet by our breeder and have been very happy with our visits there. The facility is very nice and the vet that sees our puppy (Dr. Ross) is knowledgable and friendly. She seems interested not only in the health of our puppy, but also in how her training and socilization is going. She is more than willing to listen to all the silly questions that we have as first-time owners and was more than willing to be flexible with concerns we had regarding the timing of shots and altering. They are set up to handle large breeds and have excellent surgical protocols, including an overnight vet tech to say with animals post-surgery. As far as pricing goes, you may be able to find some services a little bit cheaper elsewhere, but in my mind the quality of care you get at Pewee Valley Veterinary Center makes their fees a bargain. I would highly recommend this vet. While they are located in Oldham County, they are still only about 15 minutes from the East End of Louisville, so they are still very accessible.

Ive never been, but when I called, the receptionist said this place declaws cats (cuts through nerves and tendons to remove the tops of their toes at the first knuckle, leaving them in chronic pain for the rest of their lives). People need to stop declawing cats - its illegal in the rest of the world, but American vets make too much money from it to do what is right which is to put their animal patient first and stop committing mutilation for money. How can anyone trust a vet who violates their oath "to do no harm?"

I can call PeWee Valley Vet and explain my current concern about my Scottie, Jackson, and they all know him, know his history (he reacts sensitively to medicine), take time to say hello to him before starting an exam, ask good questions for me, and answer mine. It feels so good to know that "my boy" is in good, loving, knowledgeable hands. The welcome/checkout staff are friendly and helpful, too. Id highly recommend this canine healthcare center for you and your pet!!!!

Pewee Valley Vet has always had quick and friendly service for our dogs and cats. They were extremely helpful when one of our dogs had surgery and frequent check-ups following the surgery. Their ability to get us in and out quickly helped us maintain our busy schedules during that tough time. They have also been great for the normal annual appointments as well.

Without a doubt, this is the best Vet Clinic. I moved to Crestwood KY after having lived out West in a place where Vets are nothing short of stellar; Dr Manta Loster and his staff trump any Veterinary Clinic Ive ever known. They are knowledgeable, courteous and very professional. Thanks to them, my Australian Shephard is happy and well. Thank you, PVVC!

Since 1974, my many cats and dogs have received loving and fine diagnostic and surgical care. This clinic may well be the best in town. Over time, by the way, I have had 10 cats declawed here. Not one cat ever missed a beat. Perfectly fine immediately. (So are my grandmothers afghans and my furniture.)

As a new client they treated us like old friend. Went out of their way to help with our dogs neutering and some post surgical issues that involved an emergency visit on Saturday and follow up surgery that day. Even stayed after closing so we could pick him up. Great Job !

My experience at Pewee Valley Veterinarian Center is always great. The staff is friendly and helpful, the Doctors are knowledgeable and take time to talk with you about your pets health, and they always have an inventory of quality pet food on hand.

They are always courteous and timely. We have been bringing our animals here for over 20 years. I went elsewhere when I moved, but came back. The staff, techs, and doctors make it worth the extra miles.
