I have a Savannah named Sophie.I have been taking her to Banfield in Dothan for about 2 1/2 to 3 years now. I havent had a problem with them until now. I dropped her off on Tuesday morning for her 6 month check up. When i dropped her off there was nothing wrong with her. She was happy, healthy and very active as usual. When I picked her up she didnt make a sound. She didnt make a sound the whole way home, which is about 45 minutes, which was very unusual. She always crys all the way to and from the vets. I got her home, took her out of the kennel and then I knew that something was really wrong. She had been sedated. She would try to walk or shake her head and she would fall over. I called Banfield and they swore that they did not give her anything. That they didnt sedate her. THEY LIED!! It took 2 days for the sedation to wear off. Two days until she could walk without falling over. Two day before she could even meow. On top of that they mutilated her nails. She has a pulled muscle in her neck. And she is still horse from them hurting her throat from them grabbing the back of her neck too tight. It has been almost a week since she had a check up there and she has not fully recovered the visit. They physically and mentally abused my cat and I see it in her eyes every day. She is like one of my children. I trusted Banfield. I never thought they could mistreat an animal the way they did my Sophie. I would not recommend Banfield to anyone now. I dont think my Sophie will ever be the same again.

Dr. Long is very sweet, the nurses that help your pet when you first come into the exam rooms are generally very helpful and sweet. I would not recommend having your pets nails clipped through the vet. I was reprimanded about how I need to fix my dog and work with her about her tolerance...I have never heard my dog yelp so loudly...it was like bloody murder. I take her elsewhere for this service now and she is happy as a clam. Maybe THEY should think about what they are doing before coming down on their customer. Also, if you ever talk with Bradley...good luck getting anything done right. Although he is a sweet kid he screws EVERYTHING up. Appointments get cancelled. Appointments change without your knowledge. I got called to confirm an appointment that I made with him (this has happened on multiple occasions) and when I am called later to confirm it is for a totally different day, time slot, or drop off/stay in. It is getting ridiculous. I cringe when I hear his voice on the phone because I know it will only create more work later. I end up having to call the next day to make sure it was done right if Bradley was the one handling my case. It is incredibly frustrating. My dog was spayed at the clinic and it was just fine. She licked her wound open and they were most accomodating to get her in to reevaluate the wound and help my husband since I was out of town. I wish Tammy was working the desk still. She was fantastic.

Im not the girl who likes to complain. Usually Ill take bad customer service as a lesson and just not spend my money there. When it potentially affects the health of my pets I get livid quickly. I have a guinea pig with a pneumonia. Its *critical* that his meds are the correct dosage and on time. My liquid syringe had just wore out and no other vet offices were open. I went to Banfield to see if I could purchase one. I explained the situation to the lady at the counter said no she wouldnt sell me one nor give me one and suggested I go to Jeffers Vet supply, which would have been great if they were open. I know it has to be a fairly ordinary request, as they wear out quickly. Ive yet *until tonight* not been able to walk into ANY vets office and get a handful usually for free. I could quite understand and agree if I were asking for drugs of any kind or even a piece of dangerous equipment. You would think people whos profession is to help animals would see that I was in desperate need and at the very least sold me one. Now Ill have to make do until Monday morning when my vet is open. If you refuse a request of a woman who quite literally would have given the $40 in her wallet for one 10 cent liquid syringe for her seriously sick pet, I wouldnt dare take any of my pets to you. My only suggestion is learn a little empathy, its a MUST in this profession.

If I could post a zero and comment I would. My son has a very large puppy he rescued from a group this past year who sent him to this place for all the shots. I tried to talk him into going ahead to our regular vet in ozark but this was already set up and paid for. Our poor dog is sick and I waited until they opened today and called ahead for an appointment, and checked pricing. They said fourty for regular visit and would go from there. We get there and they say they cant do anything to tell us what is wrong without blood work and scans and they need almost 600 before they can do anything. I was floored. All they did was basically check his vitals. I said we didnt have that right now and we would go some where more affordable so they let us go but then charged us 60 because they did recomend labs and such so they did more than just examine is they explaination. Then the receipt does not even have any kind of breakdown for showing what they are charging extra for just for the amount paid. This poor dog is sick so now calling around to find someone who will actually look at him.

This has got to be the worst hospital I have ever taken my cat too. They diagnosed him with a partial bowel obstruction last night. The vet was extremely rude and didnt seem to care about my cats overall well being, and in the end, she wouldnt answer our questions on how to care for him when we took him home or what to expect. She didnt even stay in the room half the time and kept leaving and told us "to take him to your vet tomorrow for further work up.". Even after the horrible service, their prices are even more exorbitant then they already are. 300 dollar for an x ray fluids and visit when my own vet is a third; however, they were the only ones open. PLEASE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL JUST THE MONEY LINING THEIR POCKETS!

Dont EVER EVER EVER buy their Pet Wellness plan. Whether your pet is sick or healthy, avoid these scammers at all costs. The wellness plans costs several hundreds of dollars but to make up the "free" office visits, they charge you double or triple the costs on routine and so called "uncovered" procedures. The lying liars there even made my sick dog sicker by giving him a 6 months of heartworm prevention in a single dose. I hope the FDA shuts these shysters down. The put profit over concern for your pet. Sorry. I guess it makes sense. Its a local vet but they have to fund the fatcats back at the corporate office. Thanks for making a nice profit off my beautiful little dog.
