My husband and I took our cats to the veterinarian for immunizations today. It was made clear that one of the cats "Gyxr" was not real fond of vets. The assistant then got a muzzle for Gyxr that he commented would not fit properly because Gyxrs head was too big. When the vet attempted to place the muzzle on Gyxr, he hissed at the vet. The vet then tried to grab Gyxr who promptly jumped to the floor. The vet attempted to pin Gyxr against the wall with his ankle/calf. In doing this, Gyxr bit him on the leg. At this point the vet lost his temper (from my vantage point) and lunged at Gyxr, held him to the floor with his knee/calf, grabbed him by the throat, lifted Gyxr into the air by his throat, slammed him onto the table (still maneuvering him only by the throat), pinned his hip with his elbow, administered two shots, and continued to squeeze Gyxr by the throat until unconscious. After the vet was happy with his work, he lifted Gyxrs head/torso approximately 6" from the table and let go. Gyxr was unconscious and unresponsive for 20 to 30 seconds. I bring this to your attention partially because I am absolutely livid by the fact that an animal care giver finds this the best way to deal with a nervous cat. Mostly though, that if he would do this with my husband and I standing there; What is he doing when no one is around?

My sister just moved to michigan a couple months ago and took her baby, who happens to be a pit bull, a very child like animal to this veterinary hospital for a flea pill and to get his nails trimmed when she picked him up he was bleeding from 2 of his paws that were bandaged. My understanding that he wouldnt be still, im no vet but after you cut him the 1st time and hes still moving too much to do the job without hurting him i believe i would stop and explain to the owner! My sister who holds nothing back blessed him out for hurting her baby and they had the nerve to tell her that they didnt charge her for the flea pill, which was a promotional deal to begin with! If you dont have the patience for animals, ALL ANIMALS, then you shouldnt be in the animal business! Anyway, we will not be taking any of our animals back nor will any of our friends and family!!! To some people there pets are just as precious as their kids and family and would like to think all veterinarys would treat them that way.

This veterinarian abuses the patients going in for surgery. I would not take my dogs there. He is very cruel to the pets especially the bigger dogs.
