I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!!! I dont usually write reviews but Im going out of my way to do it this time so other people dont make the same mistake I made. I took my German Shepherd in a few weeks ago. All I wanted was a physical exam, a rabies shot and some flea medication. The staffs are friendly I will give them that. They took my dog to the back, the nurse came out and gave me an estimate cost of the treatments. The total was over $300. There are 10 things added to what I asked for. The nurse then explained most of them are necessary. I agreed to some and disagreed to those I think are absolutely unnecessary. On top of all the treatments, they charged me $130 to put my dog to sleep while theyre giving him an exam. I paid the full amount and left my dog there. Two hours later they called me, told me that my dog is awake and they found ear infection, irritated skin and ask if I want to treat those. The bill is another $160. I said no to all of that cause I had just taken my dog to the groomer and nothing is wrong with his ears. But when I went back to pick up my dog they charged me $50 extra because "they had to use extra dose of anesthetic because my dog is big". I left very disappointed. And this is not the end of it. They did not have the flea medication I wanted so they told me to order from their online pharmacy. I realized their price is $30 more expensive than 1-800-petmeds. So I bought the medication from the other website and they requested a prescription from this vet. The vet refused to fax the prescription to the website because of their "rules". Theyre making me to go in to get a written prescription and mail it to the website myself when they can easily just call and authorize it. At this point, I honestly just think they are doing it on purpose so the clients are forced to order through their website. So if you dont want to get ripped off, do not go to this vet.

This is by far the best pet clinic I have been to. I have had some pretty unpleasant experiences with other Renton vets, I have two Yorkies with heart conditions. One vet kept trying to put Pippin down every time we went in for anything. (He lived to be seven). The others had staff that werent knowledgeable enough to answer questions without acting like it was a bother. So I was happy when Animal Health Care Center opened. I took Gizmo for a checkup and was very impressed. The staff there were so caring and patient with Gizmo, it was like he was their own pet. The office is spotless,as are the exam rooms. There was no long wait for the Dr. The Drs. were amazing. They explained the need for any tests they recommended, but there was no pressure. You can tell that they really care about the animals they see. While sitting in the waiting room I met a couple who couldnt praise the Drs. enough. They had kept this couples dog alive through a lot of bad health issues. He was 12 and still looked and acted like a puppy. I will continue to take Gizmo and his cat brother there for the rest of their lives. I would (and have) recommend this office to anyone who loves their fuzzy family members. I went to the Kent location back in July and had a horrible experience. My cat was diagnosed with kidney failure and we were given azoydl to treat. First I was told I had to buy it from them, that I could not get the pills on line. This was not true. I bought the second round of pills on-line for a third of the price. Next, I was never told that the azoydl was supposed to be refrigerated. When I got my next prescription on-line, THEY told me the pills needed to be refrigerated. So the first 45 days my poor kitty had been getting un-viable medication; basically left untreated. I was very upset and called the clinic 3 times thinking they would do something to make this right, at least check my kitty out to see how the kidney disease had progressed. Left messages for the program director and nurse line. I never received a call back. At this point I took my cat to another vet. Guess what? Upon further testing we learned that she does NOT have kidney failure. It was a misdiagnosis. I am still scratching my head as to why I never heard from the clinic. ---Marina Peck & Kitty Mylee

My cat had to be euthanized because I took it here. Rather than focusing on providing care for your pet they are focused on performing every services that they can possibly bill you for. My cat took a turn for the worse right after I had him neutered there and they immediately assumed it was leukemia or FIV. Turns out it was an abscess, which i would expect a licensed professional would be able to diagnose if they were objectively looking at the information that was provided rather than focusing on ways to bill me. When I brought my cat in after it opened up, the first thing they told me was "This wound wasnt caused by us" and that i needed to got ACCESS in order to give him proper treatment. Too late the infection had spread too deep and caused damage that would only be fixed with very very expensive surgery. I would never subject myself or any future pets to going to this place again.

Guess who is so kindly alerting you that the negative reviews on here are fake? The owner of this business, Dr. Tracy Wood. I am a CUSTOMER, not a disgruntled employee. I am a pediatric nurse, and am not affiliated with another a vets office. If you are a consumer, please feel free to contact me and I will verify my identity. My only motivation for sharing my experience is to help prevent other people from getting ripped off. I assure you my previous review is real! RUN, DONT WALK, FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!! THEY ARE RUNNING A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM!!!! DO NOT LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!!! I ONLY GOT A RESPONSE AND A REFUND AFTER I THREATENED TO REPORT THIS BUSINESS TO THE BBB, THE MEDIA, AND THE ATTOURNEY GENERALS OFFICE.

We started using this vet last year when my dog ate a bunch of slug bait and almost died. Dr. Wood & staff saved his life and nursed him back to health. We use Dr. Wood for our dogs and Dr. Ferguson for our birds. We have experienced two things regarding their pricing: 1) If your pet is on deaths door dont expect the bill to be $5.00. Having said that, weve had to take one of our dogs to Access the pet ER more than once and the expenses each time were more than twice what we paid with Dr. Wood. 2) I have found that for everyday things, they are moderately priced. Overall great care and service, moderately priced, they are open late, and theyre easy to get to. (Access had great care too, just very, very expensive)

I have been going to Animal Health Care now going on almost 2 years. Very conscientious, caring and they dont make you wait hours a total plus... Pongo had gotten into something and needed to be seen. They were busy that day concerned for my pup they took the time to see him for a moment and helped me get him seen by another vet in the area. Putting my Pongo 1st above all. I then received a call of follow up from them making sure he was ok. They are reasonable in price, their facility is clean and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for the exceptional service and taking such wonderful care of my Pongo and Gizmo. You go above and beyond... Please note: it is Truly Noticed... :)
