I was referred to these ladies by my local Vet. My dog Bruno HATED going to the vet, literally. Every time we took him in, he had to be sedated and brought in on a gurney (110 lbs of dog is harder to lift than one might think). Which made it difficult for the vets to give a proper check up. When Bruno turned 11, we decided that with his age, visible signs of joint pain and temperament, bringing him to the vet and stressing him (and us) out was just not going to work anymore. After the first visit I felt completely comfortable with the whole process. It didnt hurt that the women that came were so calm, patient and more importantly, understanding of my dogs fear of being poked and prodded. Upon further investigation during their visit, they found several lumps on Bruno. They informed me that he could possibly have a cancer of some sort and they recommended we do a biopsy. They drew the blood from the lumps with an "all hands on deck" approach, and advised me that they would be in touch with the results as soon as possible. Turns out, Bruno did in fact have cancer. Lymphoid Leukemia to be exact. It wasnt aggressive at that time and the tips they gave us for him to stay in the best shape possible for the remainder of his life, were great. Bruno continued on to live for another 2 and a half years.... THIS however, is not the end of the story. For the next 2 and a half years, they would come out and do "check ups" to make sure his cancer wasnt advancing at a faster rate... We knew he was going, so there visits were limited. When the time came, and Bruno started showing signs of giving up, we contacted them first. I honestly cant remember if it was in fact them, or another service they referred us too, but they came out to our home again, and took Bruno to his final resting place. He passed on his favorite couch in our home, with the same love he showed us for his entire 13 years of life. Im actually tearing up right now while I write this review. The women were so kind, and sweet. After he passed, they gave me a clay imprint of his paw and then they took Bruno to be cremated. From what they told me, they take the dogs ashes and scatter them in an apple orchard. This vet service goes above and beyond. If my other dog Bubba wasnt such a dream at the vet, Id be utilizing these guys now. Hands down, the best Vet experience Ive ever had. R.I.P. Bruno - Aug 5th 2000-April 14th 2014

dr. Hannah has been my vet for many years. she took care of dc my kitty until he passed and then my beautiful Chesapeake buddy until we had to say good bye after both of them living very long and happy lives. dc died in my arms and dr. Hannah was so supportive even if she didnt come to the house. he left so suddenly.just a painful cry and then he was gone. I thought I could have done something but dr. Hannah assured me that he probably had a stroke being so old. then buddy was 14 and could barely walk so I called to have him put down and that was the hardest decision I ever made. dr. Hannah assured me it was beyond time for him to go and even though I miss that dog every day still after a couple of yeard, I know I did the right thing.at home vet sent a card, called to see how I was doing and the kindness was so appreciated. now I have a darling little shelter kitty named bee who had her first at home visit for shots a couple of weeks ago. bee was more than a bit frightened but having dr. Hannah come to the house allowed bee to recover under the covers all day and not have the stress of traveling. I have a few stray abandoned outdoor cats that I am caring for and dr. Hannah tried to catch one of them for rabies shots but the cat would have nothing to do with us. just shows how much dr. Hannah cares. I would recommend at home vet to everyone. it is convenient and appointments are kept on time and not that expensive. and, consider the stress your pet is spared by having the medical care at home. bee still isnt going to be happy to see the vet again in 3 years but I doubt she would be happy seeing anyone with needles and potions coming at her that she didnt know. it was funny hearing dr. Hannah in the bathroom with bee saying "hey folks I have a climber"! thats my bee. she is a climber for sure. this review is written because I would not have made it through the passing of my pets without them. bee will live a long life under their care.

This woman KILLED my dog 2 years ago today. She was so uncaring and not compassionate. We hired her to put our 15 1/2 y/o girl to sleep and it all went horribly wrong!!! She was late to start off and came in and the first thing she said was it was so dark in the house and walked past me and opened the curtains herself. Never introduced herself and got down to business collecting the $$$$. My husband payed her in cash and that was a big mistake. She never asked any questions or inquired what was wrong with my girl Tess. She quickly proceeded to give her the first shot, which totally knocked her out. We had no chance to say goodbye. She was limp and unresponsive. I have had other dogs put to sleep and the first shot never knocked them out like this time. She wanted to rush throughout he whole process and I was told we could have as much time as we needed. I had to keep on telling her I wasnt ready yet. She said she would step outside(she was not wanted here) and when I finally said ok, it was over in a flash. I had asked for her to lay on my lap since Tess never was one to cuddle or get up on the furniture. Later on, Hanna said that she really didnt want to be on my lap!! Who is she to say that to me, this dog was so out of it. In the days to follow I called the office and specifically told her I wanted no contact at all from her but that didnt happen. When I had called after she had left and mentioned that this was a horrible experience, she said that she was not my psychiatrist!! Who says this kind of thing after a beloved pet has passed. She ruined my and my families last moments with my girl forever and this memory will stay with me. She should not be doing this ever!!! She was cold and had no compassion She was also late for her other appts. Knowing my girl was in her car made me crazy Who knows how long she was in there on a very hot day May 4th, 2013

I knew when the time came to say goodbye to your beloved 14+ year old cat that I did not want his last memories of life to include getting put in a carrier and going to the vet. I had found At Home Vet online thru Google and also called our local vet and asked if they could refer anyone to do at-home euthanasia. I made an initial phone call when I knew the time was coming near to find out their process and receive/provide info. Jessica in the office was very informative and helpful on the phone and then took down all of my information in advance so that the time came all I would need to do was make a phone call instead of trying to blubber through everything when it was time. A few days later I did call to schedule the appointment and spoke to Jessica again who was once again very friendly and offered her sympathies on the phone. When the time for our appointment came, the doctor was 10-15 minutes early but came inside and explained the process the again and said she did need a place with light but also where our cat would be most comfortable. She and the nurse both sat on the floor with my husband and I while we had our final goodbye. After the second shot, they both gave my husband and I great big hugs and offered their sincere sympathies. I commented later to my husband on how nice their hugs were afterwards. Having to put a pet down is never going to be easy or fun, and this was my first time doing it. I am very grateful that I found At Home Vet to help us say goodbye in the comfort of our own home.
