I took my dog in to get a rabies and check up. This was her first visit there as I have been looking for a vet that I liked so have been to multiple vets the past year. Dr. Fenton came out with his rabies vaccine and without saying hello or anything to me or my dog he just stuck her with the needle. Then I asked if he was gonna do the exam I said I came in for. I put Sasha on the table. I was in the process of getting her to "down" when he just grabbed her and started man handling her. She of course started trying to get away from this strange man who just poked her with a needle. I repeatedly told him I did not like her being pulled on like that and that I was a dog trainer. He began to argue training methods with me and time. I am not sure how me asking my dog to "down" and keeping her calm would have been more time consuming but he still continued despite my efforts to tell him this was making me uncomfortable. After I realized he was not going to respect my dogs wishes or mine I just said forget about the rest of the exam, I will just pay you and leave. My dog was so stressed after this. I am disgusted that a vet would treat an animal that way against the owners wishes. I also would like to add how un professional it is to argue training methods when you were not asked to train my dog, you were asked to examine it. He also went on about time, if he cannot take 10 minutes to do an exam on my dog he might need to look into a new career. how lazy! Prices were cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I have NEVER had a vet treat my animals that way. It was like a bad Cesar Milan video. I am also at fault for letting it go on the 2 or 3 minutes I let it go on. I am so angry. I will not be going back EVER. I need a caring, reasonably priced, intelligent vet. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Make Bethlehem Animal Clinic your first stop for your animal’s needs. We have known Dr. Fenton for years and now his replacement Dr. Cox continues his great service. She helped us after we spent $400 at Woodland Animal Clinic with no results for our cat! Last week our outdoor cat began to act listless and sick late at night. Not wanting to Dr. Cox out of bed, (and being afraid he might have been poisoned) we took the cat to Woodland as they are open 24 hours. Many tests, X-Rays and $425 later two Vets still did not know what was wrong, but they were very happy to prescribe $80 worth of meds. When he did not get better, we took him to Bethlehem Animal Clinic in Locust Grove. After one look at the X-Ray the Vet told us to give him hair ball medication to help him pass a stool that was blocking him up. After a few applications of hairball med (which we already had, so cost NOTHING) the cat passed something easily 2-3x normal size. No wonder he wasn’t feeling good! Dont be fooled by lavish buildings and many staff in scrubs. If they cant figure out what is wrong with your pet, they are not worth half the money you will spend. Stick with a country Vet who knows her way around pets and livestock. You wont be sorry!

I would do no star if possible. Very dissatisfied. I drove an hour to this location and accomplished nothing. All I wanted was to update my pets shots, but the whole staff was afraid of my dog!?! He has an abusive history and trusts no one but me, I told them and they wouldnt give him shots without a muzzle-which he doesnt like either. Wasted time and gas.

Dr. Cox welcomed me and Fido with open arms on a emergency appointment. They took excellent care of my Westie and kept me posted during his procedure. I appreciated the great pet after care consultations. A+++ Recommended
