I wish I could give them a zero star review. I signed up for their wellness plan for my new puppy. Biggest mistake Ive ever made. I thought everything was ok at first but that was only for the easy things like vaccines and deworming. When it came to spaying my pup, first of all (because I work in the veterinary field) I went to the doctor to ask about performing an ovariectomy instead of an ovariohysterectomy because I know that there is less recovery time, they stay under anesthesia for a shorter amount of time, and its generally much better for the dog. There is much research on this and has been happening in Europe popularly for at least ten years, plus Ive had another dog spayed that way. The veterinarian dismissed me without even a thought, telling me that their team was very skilled and that their spays were always finished in under an hour. Secondly, I never received a pre-surgery call with instructions on what to do the night before and morning of. When questioned I was told they tried one of the two numbers listed, received no answer and did not try to contact me via the other number, nor did they leave a message. I never received any calls and had no missed calls from Banfield. After my pups spay the front desk staff was incredibly rude because I was unable to get her until 6pm, the time that I told them I would be there, and made me feel guilty by telling me she had been waiting all day and watching everyone else go home. Upon getting home and taking a look at her incision I discovered that the wound had crusted blood on it still and it looked like a hack job. The incision was, in my professional opinion, much larger than needed and had jagged edges that were clumsily stitched together. Finally, I received no follow up call to check on how my pup was doing the day after. Unfortunately Im still under obligation to pay them because of their wellness plan even though the service and treatment of my dog were well below standard. I highly advise anyone thinking about using Banfield to reconsider. I will be calling their corporate number to let them know about the horrible experience I had here.

I took my 12 1/2 week puppy here for his first exam and shots and the vet that I saw was wonderful. She was tired from lots of clients as she admitted, but she patiently answered all of my "first puppy" questions and took a lot of time with me (I was a complete novice and her patience truly was impressive). My puppy was treated well and the exam was thorough enough in my opinion. He got his shots and de-wormer and we were on our way. I would have given them 5 stars, but the receptionist (blond hair & glasses, not sure of her name) was a bit short with me when we were checking out. I am a new puppy parent, but have been to a lot of other vets for my other animals and their receptionists/front desk staff have never acted like that. We were nice and there was a puppy (well-behaved and supremely cute) there for goodness sakes! At any rate, I will take my boy back in and we signed up for the wellness plan because it was a great deal. One last thing--to the person that went on a small tangent about vaccines, please note that diseases that they vaccinate against are to protect your animal--parvo & leptosporidosis (sp?) , etc.... will kill your dog. This is a scientific fact. If you choose not to vaccinate, you are putting your animal at risk for diseases that can be prevented. If you choose not to vaccinate yourself, thats fine and dandy, but animals depend on you for care. Dont blame anyone except yourself if your animal gets sick because he ate contaminated dirt on a walk or acquired a life-threatening disease another way. It is pure science, not an up-sell or anything like that. And, to be clear, I am very open to holistic medicine in some cases and will use it when I can and it is effective. I wish your pet the best possible life.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This place isnt even worth one star. I was a wellness plan member with my dog, and one terrible experience is all it takes to lose the rating. Banfield almost killed my dog. I freakin took her in for a dental cleaning. I picked her up and they said she would act "drunk" the rest of the day. They said the anesthetic brought her heart rate under but they gave her more meds and she was fine. Well guess what, the rest of the night my dog was crying in pain like Ive never heard before (I will never get the image out of my head), throwing up all night, which turned into blood, and she went limp. I took her back because they are a VET. But they called me right when I walked out the door and told me I need to take her somewhere else. I was livid. They f-ed up my dog and couldnt even take care of their mess. My family ended up paying $1900 in emergency vet bills to save her life. I argued with the vets at Banfield but they would not reimburse me or own up to their mistake. They kept playing the whole situation off and saying that it was "probably some underlying disease". Well guess what, the hospital tested for all the possible diseases and they were all negative. The next morning Banfield even sent the hospital the wrong info for my dog, which caused them to do an extra unnecessary $200 test. In the end, it was that Banfield had given her too much anesthetic FOR A F-ING DENTAL CLEANING and caused a kidney infection that was killing her. We didnt get reimbursed, and we spent all our emergency money to save her. We have a baby. We cant afford Banfield to make mistakes like that.

Banfild is an okay place to take your pet IF YOU JUST NEED TAGS. I was working with a specific vet and he ended up leaving. So my 100 pound dog didnt like to get shots and this particulate vet was great with my dog. Handled him well. From then on I was dealing with female vets who couldnt handle my dog. I didnt appreciate them treating my dog like a mean dog for one. WELL, I took him in on several occasions because he wasnt eating right. I had a wellness plan for almost 2 years(RIP OFF!!!! Ill explain in a second). So I took my dog in (6years old) for not eating right. They said he was fine and his heart was fine, his stomach was fine and generally a good healthy dog. Well just a few months after my dogs last visit, He passed away suddenly. Turns out he had a tumor on his heart, and the pet hospital I took him to at 2am told me that not eating is a sign that he may have had a tumor... SO... I try to cancel my wellness plan a month after my dog passed. They want to charge me more money. They dont want me to cancel even though my dog is not longer with us. DONT GO FOR THEIR WELLNESS PLAN! Just put your visits on credit and pay that way, UNLESS you have no doubt in your mind your pet will be fine. I will NEVER trust their judgement again on any pet I may get in the distant future. They miss things CLEARLY... so yeah... The only thing keeping this at a 2 is because they arent horrible people. They are some what nice with the exception of them being afraid of my black lab who was afraid of shots.
